Chapter 334 - 334 Similar to Being Initiated Into a Club Except with Blood
334 Similar to Being Initiated Into a Club Except with Blood
“What kind of person could be capable of upsetting her more than me? I thought I still held the top spot for that.” The half-joke brought a brief small smile to Samuel’s face. That was more like it! If only Jovani could keep that smile there for longer, it would make everything feel closer to normal than it currently did.
“I don’t know the whole story but something to do with her past. I don’t think I should give you the exact details as I don’t think Lena would approve. I know it was bad enough that she wanted to kill him, not just think about wanting to do it.” Samuel’s expression fell as something flashed through his eyes. Dejection hmm?
Jovani couldn’t quite understand how someone like Lena managed to impact him so much. She hardly seemed like the ideal fiancé. Yet, they’d somehow grown on each other to the point that his kid cousin would become like this. What a pitiful gloomy kid he’d become. fre𝑒𝘸𝚎𝚋n૦ѵℯl.c𝒐𝘮
“I see. That is certainly some interesting news. He sounds like someone I should take the chance to meet in the future. Lena killing someone else right now wouldn’t create the ideal situation. I take it at least that she didn’t kill him.” Jovani cocked his head to the side as he watched the other’s expression for any hints.
“Not before I left. I don’t know what happened. Lena let him leave at the time because Julian got involved.” There was the second piece to the puzzle that Jovani was curious about. His younger cousin mentioned it might not be a good idea to reach out to Julian. Would the little princess go so far as even to point the gun at her uncle? Interesting…
“I see. So the plot thickens and turns into something far more troublesome than it seems on the surface. If the princess kills someone while everyone is at the hospital, that is certainly worth knowing about.” The Red Scorpions could handle dealing with their bodies. Still, such things could impact the plans that Jovani had. Big plans that he still needed more time before they would be ready to enact.
“You don’t know the name of this person? A description or something that might make it easy to find out who they are?” Samuel shrugged his shoulders before he fell back to lie on the bed with his arms stretched above his head. The exhaustion was beginning to set in for him.
“You could also, Alonso. You should know out of anyone, I don’t have enough connections with this side of stuff to know what to look for or who anyone is. I know that they were someone who set Lena off without even saying anything bad.” Did they have to keep talking about that? Right now, it was the one thing that Samuel wanted to forget about most. AT least until he figured out the best way to process everything he felt.
Would that be easy to do if the princess didn’t want to talk to him? Maybe he would try to call her again later and see if she would hang up again or at least hear him out.
.....
“Alonso likely won’t want to talk with me right now. You know, with the whole situation that just took place and all of that. He’s not terribly thrilled with my decisions. Everyone makes mistakes now and again.” This could hardly be called a ‘mistake.’ A purposeful lousy decision would be more accurate. One in which Jovani hoped everything would play out differently than it did.
“Speaking mistakes and stuff going on. When will you tell me about this initiation thing that I will have to do? You agreed to talk about it when we were on our way back here, but we haven’t had a chance to get into that decision.” And there it was. One of the things that Jovani wanted to put off talking about for a while. Pity his cousin ad such a good memory he wouldn’t forget about such things.
“I can’t go about talking about the exact details of everything. That will cause problems if you knew too much before the event takes place. Rules and such that need to be followed leading up to this.” Jovani waved his hand as he spoke. A hint of annoyance over the regulations of everything.
“If you had grown up on this side of the world, it wouldn’t be anything you need to worry about. However, since your mother left and we have had no contact before now, we need to jump through all of the silly hoops to get you accepted as an official family member.” Hoops that Jovani still needed to finish setting. With what time? He had no idea, but he would somehow figure out how to pull it out of his hat.
“It’s very much like an initiation to any club except if you could never leave that club alive and you had to sign your life away with a little bit of blood to be accepted.” Jovani absently rubbed the scar on his hand. All that stuff had been far more fun to mess about, and pretend when he was younger and didn’t understand the gravity of everything.
Alas, everything always turned out to be easier when one was a kid. No lives to be responsible for or heavy duties that couldn’t be brushed off to other people. ƒ𝘳ee𝔀e𝚋n૦𝐯el.c𝗼𝓂
“Is it like the movies? I have seen a few things growing up but never knew what to believe.” Jovani let out a forced, strained laugh at Samuel’s question. He gently placed hand on the other’s knee and patted it softly.
“I would highly recommend you refrain from asking such questions in the future. Movies aren’t bad things to learn from, but you’re absolutely right not to believe everything you see. Even though it’s quite harmless to ask such things, some people don’t take kindly to such comparisons.
The kind of people that Jovani wanted to keep away from Samuel. They would use anything they could against his younger cousin.
