Chapter 71: Roam the Halls in Her Towel

Chapter 71: Roam the Halls in Her Towel

As a child, she loved twirling around in circles. She would get so dizzy that she couldn't walk straight, staggering in a zigzag pattern with her arms raised at her side, giggling uncontrollably. It was cute on a five-year-old, but at twenty-five… it was absolute madness. 𝑓𝐫𝑒e𝒘𝚎𝘣𝚗𝘰𝘷𝐞𝑙.co𝑚

Getting down from the car to the house was a memorable trip, to say the least. Thankfully, the driver prevented her from seriously injuring herself or anyone else in the vicinity.

She kept glancing behind her, keeping a watchful eye on Mo Qingchen, who was doing far better than she was. It must have taken a tremendous effort on his part.

He was too stubborn to accept help from anyone, angrily shooing away the doorman, the driver, and the butler. Usually, his movements were flawless and fluid, almost inhuman. His arrogant swagger always drove her insane with hatred, but watching him struggle with choppy and unsteady movements was much worse.

The butler greeted them at the door. His usual expressionless fa?ade melted away and he looked very concerned. "Are you injured, sir?"

"I'll be fine," Mo Qingchen called over his shoulder as he walked away without glancing at anyone.

The butler's eyes landed on her. "Miss Yun, are you alright?"

She nodded. "Yes, just a little out of it. Would you help me find my room?" Her back was leaning against the door frame, exactly where the driver had left her.

"Of course." Like a gentleman, he held out his arm and guided her to her room.

The bed was a welcome sight.

She didn't even take off her dress before crashing on the mattress with a thump. Her shoes were flung across the room. She could see the light illuminating the sky from her window.

Since midnight, she had managed to drug herself and Mo Qingchen and contemplated licking him as he reprimanded her. Who would have known she would fall into stupidity at his side.

She needed sleep. That would solve everything.

She set an alarm for eight in the morning.

The next thing she knew, it was noon.

She blinked and the clock moved forward hours. She must have passed out without realizing it, sleeping right through the alarm.

She jumped up from her bed like it was on fire and flew out of the room, flying down the hall at top speed. She had no idea where she was going. Her body was running on adrenaline, her mind lagging far behind.

Why hadn't anyone woken her up?

As her bare feet padded down on the cool floor, she slowly came to her senses. She was still wearing that dress, her hair hanging halfway out of the ponytail. She tugged on the tie, letting it fall loosely across her shoulders.

She desperately needed to get back to her room to shower. Then she needed to figure out how to call up every person she had an appointment with and offer excuses. Her stomach churned at the thought.

She looked at a wayward mirror and saw that she looked like a cavewoman standing there in her tiny dress, no shoes and hair flying everywhere.

She spun around to head back to her bedroom and was faced with hallways. "Are you kidding me?" she shouted into the empty space. Not surprisingly, there was no response. She walked down the hallway and tried every door she could find. All of them were locked.

After too long, she found an unlocked door. It wasn't her room, but at that point, she was too happy to get out of the hallway.

The room led to another hallway and that to another room. Oddly enough, it looked like a gym.

So, she snooped around for a bit.

The wight in the room was excellent, matching the ones she had seen in those fancy health clubs. There was a sauna too. It was amazing. So, this was how her generation of rich people lived, huh.

She was highly enticed to drop her dress and dive into the pool of bubbling water, but she refrained. Instead, she walked over to the other room. Standing before her was a state of the art, multi-head, shower extravaganza, utterly impossible to resist. Not that she tried. Before she could be called a cavewoman on crack, she snagged a fresh towel off the shelf and was the hallway to the promised land.

A long, steaming shower was just what she needed. She dried off her body with a bright smile on her face, finally feeling human again. She wrapped herself in the towel and ventured into the next room, hoping to find one of those wall-tablets.

Alas, all she found was an empty bathroom. Beautiful as it was, it was of no use to her. She really didn't want to put the little dress back on. It was indeed a dangerous piece of clothing.

But she couldn't roam the halls in a towel. Not that anyone would see her. There was no life nearby.

Her reflection in the bathroom mirror caused her to stop momentarily. She had used the shampoo and conditioner in the shower. Her hair looked healthy. She had to go back and turn it around to see what brand it was.

Venus didn't make these products, so she was researching for future purposes. She found that it was one of those brands that personally formulated the products for their client.

Mo Qingchen was high maintenance! She would have never guessed.

Well, his hair was fabulous. The tousled mess of chaotic black and slivers of brown. It was so twisted and tangled that one would think she didn't use such products. But unlike him, his hair was soft and it even tasted good.

And this was the reason.

She had discovered that when she awoke with a mouthful of his hair.

She scanned the ingredients and had to laugh. Champagne grape seed oil was marked as the top ingredient in the list.

Look at this snob!
