Chapter 60: Lioness as the team member

He got dazed looking at the information about the spell. It was a very powerful ability that would let him control numerous beasts under the Devlin's Bloodline Banner.

His heartbeat thumped with excitement just thinking about It.

He wanted to try this skill out but there were no Devlin banner beasts available nearby.

Rio heard footsteps approaching the study room and someone knocked on the door.

"Come in." The Emperor said with an eager voice as if he was waiting for the person who just arrived.

Rio turned around to look at the figure that just come and his face became surprised with some bitterness.

The Emperor said with a grin as the person walked into the room, "For your first mission, you don't have to go to the human shelters. First, go to the corrupted lands with this lady and get some experience on how to claim a Shelter."

"Why do I have to go with her?" Rio blurted out instinctively.

The girl standing beside him didn't even find it rude and minded him as she expected this reply from him.

"It's your first time so you need someone to guide you. Corrupted land is not a safe place like the one in the periphery of the Shamor empire so you need someone stronger like her to protect you. Also, You have to get familiar with the new ability you just learned." Dylan responded.

"Protect? I would rather feel safe with a deadly beast than her." Rio retaliated and his face shadowed with bitterness as he didn't want to go with the girl beside him.

"She won't harm you, Rio. Because when she was little she used to tell Lia …" Dylan stopped in the middle as he was interrupted and his eyes gazed at a dagger dancing in the lady's hand.

He gulped nervously and a cold wind swirled around his crotch as he remembered her vicious action from last time.

"What did she say to Lia??? Rio frowned as he saw the Emperor hesitating to complete the sentence.

"Cough…cough… nothing. You will find out yourself when the times come." He said hurriedly as he wanted to skip the topic.

Although he liked to tease his children, he can't lose his little brother because of his blabbering mouth.

Rio looked beside him and saw her playing with a dagger. His shoulder dropped in sadness as he didn't like their plan at all.

"She is working alone on this secret mission because she was the only one who can use the [Ancient Devlin Beast Emperor] spell besides me and Lia. Since you have joined our family, you are also given our secret ability which can only be taught to very trusted family members.

So from now on, you will be working with Helia together as a team to claim the shelters under our enemies' noses.

When you bring a heart stone of Emperor spirit, either give it to Lia or Me as we will bind it with our blood to make those beasts under our banner.

As for shelter-related missions, you can ask Helia as she will be also in charge of giving you missions to claim the shelters around the shamor empire. You don't have to report to me, just find her as she will be the one to guide you.

That's all I wanted to say. Ask if you have any doubts regarding this matter." Emperor Dylan explained and looked at him to see if he had any questions about all the stuff he had told him.

The girl who arrived earlier was the lioness, Helia. She was in her usual warrior-like armor with a sword. Although Rio found her gorgeous like Nyla, but he wasn't happy to see her as he shared bitter memories with her.

"When do I have to go?" He asked in an annoyed tone.

"Now… follow me." it wasn't the Emperor who said it, The blonde-haired beauty spoke coldly and walked out of the room.

"Good luck to both of you," Dylan said with a cheerful smile and bid them farewell.

Rio followed the lioness half-heartedly as he was not given a choice to pick.

They walked out of the castle to go towards the teleporter tower.

Sun was brightly glistening in the sky and forming their shadow which barely touched each other due to the distance between the duo.

"Hey… wait…" Rio spoke and halted his steps as he remembered something.

"Why…?" She turned around to glare at him with a frown.

He wanted to tell her what he just remembered but it would be bad if others heard about it so he walked towards her and stopped very close to her face.

He gazed into her beautiful red eyes and leaned forward slowly.

Helia's heartbeat became faster as she saw him getting closer to her face. Her grip on her sword tightened as she was ready to teach him a lesson if he crossed his lines.

Although she said she would marry the one Lia married when she was little. That didn't mean she would allow a playboy to be around her lovely sister. She only wanted the best for Lia.

If this man in front of her tried anything funny she wouldn't hesitate to slaughter him.

However, she would only harm Rio if he had such perverted ideas and did what she thought he would do. But that was not going to happen as Rio wasn't that kind of person.

His face was getting close to her as his warm breath brushed past her neck and a voice whispered causing a tickle in her ear, "Lia has instructed me to Disguise as an asura before going to the teleporter tower."

His nostrils were invaded by a fragrance of jasmine flowers as he got near her and came closer to her face.

He considered her like a rough warrior who didn't have the gentleness of a lady and acted adorably but his ideas, as well as beliefs, got shattered into tiny pieces when he leaned close towards her to whisper in her ears.

He only became dazed for a second and calmed himself down. At the end of the day, she was the sister of his wife. He was not allowed to think about her in that way.

Helia on the other hand, loosened her grip on her sword as she realized his pure intention.

'He is not a playboy.'

She sighed in relief as she saw him in front of him. She never felt that he looked at her with lustful eyes, being a female warrior with an alluring body she had experienced it a lot of times while traveling and fighting but this crimson-haired human was different.

His deep sea-green eyes never had a hint of lust since she met him. They only had fear, sorrow, and some unknown emotion she couldn't understand.

Sometimes she even got to see pity and friendliness in his eyes but she never saw the lust for her and he never made her feel uncomfortable.

That was also the second reason she started to dislike him less as his character was best even among asuras.

However, her face changed at an astonishingly fast speed as she saw what was in front of her.
