Volume 12, Chapter 13 Yuuji Arrives at the Royal Capital on the Seventh Day of His Journey
It is the seventh day of the journey from the city of Premiere to the royal capital.
In the spring sunshine, a carriage makes its way down the road.
It is Yuuji and his friends, who are traveling to escort the elf girl, Liese, to the royal capital and meet the elf adventurers who are based there.
From the frontier, Yuuji, Alice, Liese, Kotarou, Enzo, a former 3rd level adventurer and scout, and Yrshel, a seamstress.
Kevin and two of his personal bodyguards.
Salomon, the adventurer’s guild master in the town of Premiere, is the elf girl’s escort.
And Alice’s brother Charles and Doni, the werewolf tribe that rescued her from the bandits.
In total, there were eleven people and one animal in the group.
Leading the carriage were Kevin’s personal guard, Iannis, and scout, Enzo.
The other personal guard, Aias, who had ridden from the last inn town to the royal capital and back, was slowly making his way alongside the carriage. The horse has been changed, and although it does not show on his face, it is probably because he is tired.
Kevin and Yuuji are in the driver’s seat of the wagon.
On the back of the wagon, Charles and Denis were lying down, and Alice, Liese, and Yrshel were closely packed in a small space. Charles and Denis are awake, but they seem to be lying down for their own safety.
Salomon is the leader of the group. As the elf’s bodyguard, he keeps watch for the rear of the carriage, which is the most vulnerable point for kidnapping.
Kotarou moves about freely in front of the carriage, behind it, and occasionally off the road to run across the plain. She seems to be a woman who doesn’t want to be tied down. Even though she is a dog.
The stone walls of the royal capital were already in sight ahead of the group.
This was the last leg of their journey to the capital.
“We’ve been through a lot, but it looks like we’re all going to get there safely. Charles-kun and Doni-san seem to be okay…”
“Yes. Both of them seem to be fine. I’m not sure what to do, but I’m going to try. It’s not just the two of you, but Alice and Lise as well. I’m not very good at that kind of thing.”
Kevin, who was sitting at the leader’s seat, and Yuuji, were whispering to each other.
“It’s true, as Yuuji said, the members who went on the journey together from the beginning were unharmed. The two people we rescued along the way are in stable condition.”
“I’m sure they’ll make it to the Royal Capital, which is just ahead.”
“However, as Kevin said, they need to take care of their hearts.”
Charles, who Donnie was worried about, has calmed down for now. But it seems that during his time with the bandits, he only vaguely did as he was told. Since it was a matter of the heart, it could come back at any time.
Alice was able to reunite with her brother Charles after three and a half years of separation, but at the same time, she realized that she had failed to save her parents and her other brother.
She was happy to see her brother, and she was taught to be happy even if she was alone, so now she acted stubbornly. Even if these are the values of another world, she is still a nine-year-old girl. It would not be surprising if she became unstable.
Liese wanted to travel with me, saying that she would never see me again if I went back to the elf village. Our journey to the royal capital ends today, and all that remains is to meet up with the adventurers of the royal capital who are based there. Depending on what we talked about after that, we might have to say goodbye here.
Alice, Yuuji, and a 12-year-old girl who misses Kotarou. It would not be surprising if they became unstable before parting in this life. I’m not sure if this world has any concept of this life or the next.
The seventh and final day of the trip.
Caught up in their own thoughts and feelings, the carriage continued on its path.

“It’s amazing to see it up close…”
“Wow! It’s huge! It’s amazing, Brother Yuuji, Brother Charles!”
“This is the royal capital…”

We finally arrived at the royal capital after leaving the frontier and passing through the town of Premiere.
As they approached the entrance, Yuuji and the others shouted out in surprise at the power of the stone wall.
In addition to Yuuji and Alice, Charles, who was worried about his physical and mental health, and Liese, who had been told not to speak the language of the elves, also let out a few words.
Yuuji was already holding the camera in his right hand, and had also attached a weight-bearing component to his shoulder for stability. He was willing to consume the battery he had preserved, and was shooting in video mode.
The stone wall that surrounds the royal city is about six meters high.
According to Kevin, there are three gates for land routes and one port for waterways.
In front of the gate where Yuuji and his friends arrived, we could see travelers on foot and people who looked like farmers from the neighborhood, as well as merchants with carts, wagons, and backpacks on their backs.
Each of them seemed to be queuing up to be checked into the city.
‘Yuuji, please tell Liese. I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear that.
Kevin, who is sitting at the leader’s seat, tells Yuuji.
In order to protect Liese, it is better for her not to be known as an elf. I’m sure you’ll agree. Lise nodded, though she looked a little disappointed.
The group lined up in the merchant’s line.
As Yuuji sat in his seat, a few words came to his ears.
“That flag, Genghis Trading Company, right? Who’s back?”
“Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, neither the guard nor the escort is wearing a cape.”
“I heard from the guys who just left that they squashed some mud rats and there were weeds in King’s Landing.”
“That’s the disciples of the Bloodstained! So, who are you? Or is it Two Shots, One Point?”
“I think it’s The Fighting Peddler! Don’t make eye contact with them!”
The line of merchants in front of Yuuji and the others opened up. It was as if they were giving way for us to go on our way.
I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know that I’m not the only one who’s a little nervous about this.
Kevin exhaled a sigh and proceeded with the carriage.
Kevin’s shoulders were slumped, but his two personal bodyguards were proudly beating their chests.
Alice, of course, and Eugene looked at the three of them with sparkling eyes.
“A ‘fighting peddler’? That’s a much milder name than the others.”
“Don’t you know, idiot? You don’t know that I made you change your name in physical language because I didn’t like it! No, it’s nothing.”
I’m sure you’ll be happy to hear that.
I’m sure you’ve heard of the merchants, peddlers, and knowledgeable farmers, but I’m not sure if you’ve heard of these ones. He glanced at Kevin to see if he had heard the words of the merchants, vendors, and knowledgeable farmers.
Yuuji and Alice had their jaws drop in disbelief.
Kotaro squealed in satisfaction. “It’s a great idea,” he said.
It’s a… youthful indiscretion.
I’m not sure what to make of that.
They skipped the procession and arrived safely at the gate guard.
Kevin’s personal guard had probably talked to them the day before.
After a quick check of the seals and documents Yuuji had received from the lords of the town of Premiere, proof of residency, and their cargo, the group was allowed to enter the capital.
Kevin received a small reward for his confirmation.
The group went through a tunnel of stone walls leading from the gate. Apparently, the stone walls were not only high, but also thick.
At the end of the dimly lit tunnel, we see a square illuminated by dazzling lights.
At last, Yuuji and the eleven others had entered the royal capital.
We walked to the square and Kevin slowly stopped the carriage. Kevin looks back from the driver’s seat to the back of the cart.
With his chest outstretched, Kevin announces in a high-pitched voice, “Well, Yuuji, I’m here to tell you that you’re not alone.”
“I’m sure you’ll be able to understand what I’m talking about. And Charles, Doni. Welcome! This is the royal capital of this country, Riviere!”
