Chapter 67: THE DEAD PEOPLE VOICES

Chapter 67: THE DEAD PEOPLE VOICES

Khaos had been advising for him for long, so it would be very stupid of him for not knowing a way or two of how his mind was working.

Khaos actually managed to charm Zuri to betray two packs, there wouldn't be any leverage that could make her sway to the other side, but it didn't mean he couldn't use that woman.

"What false information that you wanted alpha Khaos to know?" Leonard asked. He furrowed his brows, trying to catch up with the way the king was thinking. "Do you think he will not realize?"

"There is no reason for him to suspect the woman, who is very infatuated with him. He will think that he managed to trick me, but it's the other way around." Dacre saw Nycta from afar, she was surrounded by two of her maids. She just recovered from the mark he gave her, thus she was a little bit pale right now. "Keep a close eye on Khaos's movement."

"Yes, my king," Leonard said, as he walked away and Dacre approached Nycta with a beautiful flower in his hand.

"Thank you, my king, this flower is very beautiful," Nycta gushed and dismissed the other servants. She took the king inside.

Dacre kissed her cheek and led her inside, as Killian followed them. He was the personal guard that Nycta had picked herself. He didn't make a sound and move very smoothly, sometime, Nycta didn't even realize that he was there.

"Is it still painful?" Dacre asked, as he touched her neck lightly.

"No, not really." Nycta blushed when she remembered the night when she was marked. She would be blushing every time the memories flooded back to her mind. She was so happy that the king was very attentive and thoughtful with her.

Her sister, Rimera, must have blissful years when she was alive.

Nycta felt bad because she was a little bit happy that her sister died without a child, because if it was not for that, she wouldn't be in this position and have the king for herself.

"In that case, I will visit you again tonight."

Nycta lowered her head and bit her lip to suppress her smile.

'Do you really think he will touch you? Have you forgotten that I have touched every inch of your body.

I was the one, who have kissed you, took your virginity and many more.'

Xaden was sitting across from Zuri inside the moving carriage. It had been a week and Zuri was in dire need for her medicine, as she kept seeing them.

It was getting hard for her to differentiate what was real and what was not at this point. Xaden and her mother kept appearing before her eyes whenever she was alone, but even when she was surrounded by many people, Zuri would still see them occasionally.

It was some kind of torture for her.

Some time, she could ignore them, but often time, they got on her nerves and all she wanted to do was to scream at them to leave her alone.

Was this her guilty feeling that caught up to her, because she was the reason why they were dead? Was this a manifest of her sin for her betrayal? Or this was only her mind playing trick on her.

'Do you remember how you whimpered in delight as I drew pleasure from you? When I touched your clit and pinched your nipple. Do you think he wanted to touch you after he knew that? Oh, of course, he knew. He must have done the same thing to the women he was with.'

"Shut up." Zuri gritted her teeth, she glanced at the door, afraid that Khaos would enter the carriage all of sudden and caught her in this state. Sweat layered on her forehead. Her heart was beating so fast, she couldn't hold back her rage.

'You are not special, Zuri. Don't ever think that you are special just because you know a few trick in business.'

"Shut up. Shut up. Shut up." Zuri balled her fists, her claws elongated and stabbed her palms. It drew blood and she could smell the metallic scent in the air. "You are dead. You are already

dead!"

Xaden laughed. His laughter was the same like she remembered, filled with scorn.

'In that case, why do you still see me? Or maybe, deep down, you actually missed me? Do you miss my touch?'

"NO!" Zuri roared, she grabbed a cup of tea and then threw it at him. The cup shattered against the carriage wall and broken into pieces. Xaden's figure disappeared from her sight and the carriage stopped moving, but her head couldn't stop reeling from her rage.

Suddenly the carriage door opened.

"What happened?" Khaos asked, he looked around the carriage, looking for any potential danger, but aside from sharp shard of broken glass, there was nothing that could be considered as danger.

The alpha shifted his attention back to Zuri, who was trembling, he could smell blood from

her.

"You are hurt," Khaos stated, he took her hand and saw the blood from her palm, but the wounds had closed and healed. "What's going on?"

Khaos had noticed Zuri acted a little bit off recently, but he couldn't tell what was going on with her. She would look agitated for no reason, as if something bothering her. Her eyes would wander, as though she was looking for someone.

Zuri didn't answer the question, she simply lowered her head and stared at her hand. She didn't even realize when Khaos helped her to get off the carriage and led her to a river stream.

Seeing the river stream, she felt disgusted, it almost felt like she heard Xaden's voice in her head, reminding her of how they had sex in the river stream back in the Blackthorne pack.

But, Zuri also realized another thing.

"This is not the way to go to River Creek pack." Zuri looked around her, while Khaos cleaned

her hands.
