Chapter 20 - Complete the Task Dashingly

Chapter 20: Complete the Task Dashingly

Instantly, even insects in the area stopped chirping.

Mo Wen also felt that something was weird. Meeting Moh Yanchen’s dark eyes, he understood the latter’s intention and followed Moh Yanchen closely, getting ready to battle.

“Since you’re here, why not come out?” His magnetic voice echoed in the forest, and the dominance in his voice made others unable to double his existence.

Bang! A glass bottle was thrown toward them. Moh Yanchen raised his leg and kicked at it. His military coat flapped dashingly, then he caught the glass bottle in his hand.

“Ahhh!” A scream sounded.

When Mo Wen exchanged a look with Moh Yanchen, they had tactical understanding and knew what each one of them was going to do. When their enemy made a move, Moh Yanchen acted to confuse the enemy while Mo Wen had lunged toward the source of the noise.

Their enemy was wounded but quickly turned around to flee.

Moh Yanchen stood still. He suddenly turned around and ran in the opposite direction. Mo Wen searched for their enemy, but the figure disappeared in the trees.

“Sir.” He returned and saw Moh Yanchen gesturing toward him, asking him to keep silent. Mo Wen froze for a second, then his tall figure quickly climbed up on a tree. f𝘳e𝒆w𝗲𝐛𝘯𝐨νe𝚕.co𝓶

There was blood dripped onto the blade of grass. Moh Yanchen squatted down to study the blood on the ground. Then, he reached out his hand and picked up some mud before sniffing it. “I see.”

It wasn’t human blood; it came from a beast.

He glanced around and saw that the bush ahead of him was as tall as a man. He took out his lighter and threw it at the bush.

Boom. With an explosive noise, a black figure dashed out from the other side of the bush.

Mo Wen jumped down from the tree and kicked the figure to the ground. Moh Yanchen took out his short dagger and stabbed the figure’s hands and feet with swift, cold, and accurate movements. The wounds cut into the target’s body but didn’t cause lethal injuries.

“Sir, it’s an ape-man.” Mo Wen tied their target’s hand and feet with a rope and found that it was a hairy ape-man.

The forest was remote, but ape-men couldn’t possibly live in it.

“Investigate everyone in the force and find the traitor.” His voice was cold, and his eyes were even colder. When he saw the ape-man, he knew what was going on.

An ape-man carrying a virus had been roaming in the forest, but the entire troop didn’t detect anything. Obviously, someone was trying his best to stop this ape-man from being found.

“Yes, sir.” Mo Wen also realized the seriousness of the situation.

“Increase the intensity of training for all the members for one month.”

His tone was heavy like a mountain, and Mo Wen knew what he meant.

Lately, the troop had little training, and everyone lowered their guard. Not only did their enemies infiltrate their base, even an ape-man could get away from moving around under their noses. Their attention was always pulled away; it was a huge disgrace…

“Sir.” At this moment, Mo Qiu who had gotten the order earlier arrived with a few soldiers to take away the wild ape-man.

Following the clues that Moh Yanchen gave to them, they easily dragged out the traitor who had been interfering with their operations in 20 minutes.

“Research the content in this bottle; it might help with the development of the antidote,” he said while handing them the glass bottle. He continued, “Also scan the fingerprints on the bottle and find out who else is involved.”

“Yes.” Mo Qiu took the order crisply, not daring to make any mistakes.

The atmosphere in the military zone was weird as everyone felt both uneasy and furious. They were the great Golden Eagle special forces unit, but someone had tricked and played them. As members of the special forces, they felt ashamed.

“Deduct three months of salaries for all the members. Get them into the primitive forest for training. Execute those who can’t pass the test.”

“Yes, sir.” Mo Wen took the order and went to make the arrangements.

With his hands clasped behind his back, Moh Yanchen stood firm before the alarmed military zone. If he wasn’t harsh in training his soldiers, it would be the same as letting their enemies pierce their hearts with knives. He would never allow such a thing to happen.
