Chapter 1188: Zhouzhou Causes a Ruckus
Zhouzhou, standing with her hands on her hips, pouted in protest. "Mr. Divine Thunder, how am I supposed to make friends at school with you acting like this? Look at my reputation now—it's ruined! You need to compensate me for this!"
This time, Divine Thunder was genuinely furious. "Compensate? Fine! How about I strike you with a lightning bolt as compensation?" it grumbled, its claws already sparking with fury.
Zhouzhou, however, was already used to avoiding his attacks. She quickly ducked and covered her head, sprinting away. This was the second time in just one day!
Divine Thunder took a deep breath, trying to calm itself. Don't get angry, don't get angry. She's been a little troublemaker for years now. I'm used to it. It muttered to itself. Once she fixes her "lack of money" fate, I'll be able to leave. It's coming soon, it's coming soon.
But to its surprise, Zhouzhou wasn't done yet. She was already plotting her next move to annoy it.
Hmph, she thought, If it wants to make sure my dad doesn't wake up and grabs Ancestral Master, then fine! Let's see how it handles me!
Her eyes glinted mischievously, her thoughts bubbling like a dark cauldron about to overflow.
"Mr. Divine Thunder~"
Divine Thunder had just found Zhouzhou and was preparing to land on her head when it heard her sweet, almost innocent voice greeting it. Her eyes were wide and clear, and her cheeks dimpled with the cutest little smile. She looked utterly adorable.
Divine Thunder immediately went on alert.
Every time she acted like this, she was definitely up to something!
It scratched its claws together, a spark flashing slightly too big for comfort.
Zhouzhou's dimples deepened as she turned her gaze on it knowingly. She's doing this on purpose!
She winked at it, cupping her hands under her chin, and with a delicate pout asked, "Mr. Divine Thunder, my dad and Ancestral Master aren't around, and my uncle is off on a mission. I'm all alone. I'm scared... You'll protect me, right?"
Scared, my foot. This was the same Zhouzhou who had never been afraid of anyone her whole life! She was just pretending now!
Divine Thunder wanted to strike her for all the mischief she was causing. It even entertained the idea of zapping her to rid her of all her mischievous plans. But, just as it was about to act, it saw her lower lip tremble, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. Divine Thunder's heart softened, unable to stay angry.
After all, she was its little troublemaker—its own responsibility, its own creation. How could it bear to make her upset?
Even though it knew she was faking it, Divine Thunder's heart softened. It sighed in resignation, putting its claws down. "Alright, what is it that you want to do?"
Zhouzhou's eyes sparkled, a wide grin spreading across her face. "I knew it! Mr. Divine Thunder is the best!" she said happily.
It's not the best lightning! Divine Thunder grumbled internally, though before it could respond, Zhouzhou quickly added, "Mr. Divine Thunder, I can't find where our team is supposed to assemble. Can you help me look for it? Please, pretty please?"
She clasped her paws together, her eyes shining bright as she beamed at it like a little fortune cat.
Divine Thunder glanced at her, its expression darkening before it flitted off, floating into the air.
Zhouzhou watched it go, a satisfied smirk creeping onto her face. Mr. Divine Thunder, get ready to play!
Before long, Divine Thunder returned and waved its paw. "Come on, follow me."
Zhouzhou eagerly followed behind, and in no time, they found the assembly point for their group. When others were around, Zhouzhou kept quiet, simply giving Divine Thunder a thumbs-up and flashing it a bright smile.
The sight made Divine Thunder's heart flutter a little. The little rascal may be a handful, but she's kind of cute.
... Nope!
A few minutes later, Divine Thunder's mood soured, and it quickly regretted its thoughts.
This troublemaker was anything but cute!
Zhouzhou had barely stood still for a few minutes in the military stance when she dramatically complained, "I'm so hot, Mr. Divine Thunder. Am I going to get tan? Can you make it rain a little so we can rest?"
Divine Thunder fumed. Of course, she had to use that soundproof talisman earlier! I knew it! She's trying to trick me again!

It glared at her in silence, seething with frustration.
Hot? This wasn't the same Zhouzhou who spent a whole month in an African rainforest, was it? Didn't she love running around under the scorching sun in an amusement park until the heat didn't even faze her?
She's just doing this to mess with me!
But as always, the moment it even hinted at being unwilling, Zhouzhou went into full acting mode.
With her arms crossed, it dared her to cry—yet, she was actually capable of it!
After a few moments of fake sniffling, Zhouzhou's tears started to fall, landing directly on Divine Thunder's heart, burning hot.
Divine Thunder jumped back, startled by the sudden warmth.
I'm hot too now!
Without saying a word, Divine Thunder floated upward. The sky darkened, and thunder rumbled as it summoned a few raindrops. But its power was limited, so it could only make it rain on Zhouzhou's group.
Meanwhile, other teams watched in envy as Zhouzhou's team got drenched, turning into soaked dogs and being assigned to return to the dorms to change clothes and tidy up.
So unfair!
The instructor was equally confused, wondering, "What's going on? Just moments ago, it was clear skies. Why is it suddenly raining? And why is it only affecting their team?"
The team members joked, "Did someone in your class do something bad? Why else would the rain only target you guys?"
Having changed into dry clothes, Zhouzhou sat back in her seat, rubbing her hair dry. She then called out, in the softest voice, "Mr. Divine Thunder~"
Divine Thunder shuddered, immediately moving over to her. "What do you want now?" it snapped impatiently.
Zhouzhou grinned sweetly. "I have to do some practice problems, but I can't figure them out. Brother Dafu gave me a set of exercises, and I have a competition to prepare for after the training. Can you help me, Mr. Divine Thunder?"
"Help with homework?" Divine Thunder was completely stunned. Does she really need tutoring?
It nodded absently, muttering, "Fine, fine."
It figured she probably knew the answers already. If she didn't, she could learn from just looking at the answers. It wouldn't be worth its time.
But Divine Thunder had underestimated her.
Zhouzhou would ask about every single question, stopping after each one to say, "Mr. Divine Thunder, how do I solve this one?"
Having been around Zhouzhou long enough, Divine Thunder wasn't some unlettered lightning anymore. It had picked up quite a bit of language from Zhouzhou, and, surprisingly, was more learned than most.
But this was still a bit much.
On Zhouzhou's eighteenth question, Divine Thunder couldn't hold it anymore. Sparks flew from its body as it angrily yelled, "I just told you how to do it! Why can't you get it?!"
"I've explained it a thousand times, why are you still messing it up?!"
"Why are you doing this to me?!"
It finally realized—it had been played! She was doing it on purpose!
Zhouzhou didn't bother denying it, sticking her chin out defiantly. "I want my dad back. You give him back to me, or I'll keep causing trouble!"
