Chapter 943 T.D.O.N.B: The Idiots And The Greedy Ones

- He was perfect! An idiot blinded by revenge with a hero complex! I couldn't have dreamt of a better person to find, so I thought at the moment. I told him I'm a god who saw his suffering and came to change his fate. Make him a hero who will free his people. He bought it! Ha ha ha! - the other me burst into laughter.

He had to wipe the tears from his eyes, that's how funny he found that part of his own story.

I just wanted this to be over. Preferably by discovering a way out for myself. I really wanted to fight him. To beat him up. I thought that I was strong enough to do it because of the last fruit I'd consumed. f𝘳ℯℯ𝙬𝒆𝚋𝐧oν𝑒Ɩ.c𝑜𝙢

A second later he again shattered my bones, and tore the flesh apart, just to keep me in that state of borderline agony.

- Me and Yashasvee'mies build an empire. He was my chosen one, and I was his god. My plans, obviously, stretched far beyond just that. I wished for him to get strong enough so I could take over his body using a technique I developed. It, unfortunately, wasn't perfect so while the empire was being built, I practiced in secrecy, taking over Xuvi, or Uhms. I'm unsure if he discovered that, or somehow saw through my real plans. At some point, he just refused to consume the fruit of Aaraam'soturi. I needed to do something - he slowly nodded, and his happy expression turned into a more serious one.

It was weird observing myself, having all those reactions while half listening to the other me, and half trying to think of a way out.

Unfortunately, there didn't seem to be any. At some point I even began considering breaching the wall of pain, to again go beyond 70% of 'Shadow fusion', but I was unsure if I could survive it. The 'Unknown Void skill' was supposed to work on that, and keep me in control, but the reality of it was not even close to what I thought it would be.

- So I started this elaborate scheme. I began using Xuvi to rise a powerful rebel force. The idea was practically given to me by them because they constantly tried to rebel against Bahumdabars. And, oh boy, did it work... When I first planted the seed of Aaraam'soturi, I needed to figure out a way to keep control of the sapling, so Yashasvee'mies wouldn't just do whatever he wanted. I used another puppet for that and gave him a mental code as something necessary to access the damn thing properly. Just so I could use another puppet to remain in control after disposing of the previous one. I used the same technique with you - he smiled at me.

He was right. I remember the mental shift then I gained the code he mentioned, and was finally able to open a portal to Earth. I thought it was because he planted the seed himself, but apparently, he found a way around it, since the Creator cursed him.

- The rest of the story you know very well. Yashasvee'mies died taken by his own kin, who were under the influence of the tree. It wasn't easy to achieve too, because that bastard at first didn't want them to be linked to the tree, but back then he still was in my grasp, and I convinced him to do it. Selling him some lies about the betrayal of his own people, and a safety measure to keep the peace. Now when I think about that, maybe that was where he first started to lose trust in me... - he briefly went silent to contemplate that idea.

I was glad he shut his mouth because at that point I was simply too furious to continue, but I also couldn't do much to stop him. Just to remind me who was in control, he once again shattered my healed bones, and tore my flesh to shreds, so I wouldn't be able to do anything.

It was torture, but I couldn't do much about it.

- Fast forward, the empire falls. I save some Uhms and some Xuvi to have in my back pocket if I was to fail to find another species in the vast multiverse. But I didn't! I found your pathetic planet, with a marvelous mix of degenerates living on it. I felt like the young you whenever you received some money from your mother, and, just by yourself, stepped into the grocery shop - he chuckled again. - I could pick and choose whatever I wanted. I knew what works. Idiots with a hero complex, but the greed of Xuvi thought me, that it could also be a good option. So I picked a mix of characters like that and threw it in a city I planted with my Xuvi puppet.

At that point, he began giggling again, quite quietly. I could detect the faint noise, but to contrast it, his whole body was shaking in the mix of happiness and pure ecstasy.

- Oh boy, that was a marvelous idea! - he finally spoke again, starting very loud. - So many of you were so promising. I wouldn't know whom to pick. I needed to wait patiently. The first one was Zhang Yong. He united you quite well. But there was also Blue! He was digging a hole under his leader, so I wanted to give him a chance. Then yous stepped into the picture, followed by Marc. There were others too. It was so entertaining... But lasted a bit too long. I needed to push you all to make a decision, so I used the orcs.

The memories of that battle flashed through my brain as he spoke these words. Back then, after I learned about him, The Great One, I only wished to kill that monster. Why did I lose this great urge? If only I kept it. If only I didn't listen to all the lies he sold me later on.

How did it even happen?
