Chapter 158: Collaboration in Division, A Bold Move in Three Days!

Chapter 158: Collaboration in Division, A Bold Move in Three Days!

“Let’s do it in cash, then.”

Having said this, Wang Yun immediately ended the call. His priority now was to savor the moment.

Just arrived in Xiyun City, he was still unfamiliar with the local geography. However, with thirty subordinates at his disposal, all natives of the area, he could rely on their local knowledge.

These thirty underlings’ identities were currently usable for his needs.

To avoid drawing attention to himself, Wang Yun opted for a simple solution, ordering takeout. Once the meal was over, it was time to delegate tasks to his crew.

“Glasses, I need you to make some purchases for me. Do it discreetly, make sure no one catches on. We’re after certain… specific materials.”

“Xiao Fang, you excel at tracking and location, right? I need you to figure out where our people are. Here are their sketches. Make sure not to leave a digital footprint.”

“Fist, you and the others might not have specific tasks right now, but your role is pivotal. In three days, I’ll need your collaboration to do something big with me.”

Wang Yun methodically laid out the tasks for his team. He was intimately familiar with each individual’s skills.

After he spoke, the group nodded in unison.

“We follow Brother Yun’s lead!”

“We follow Brother Yun’s lead!”

Thirty robust voices echoed, their resounding declaration circling the villa thrice. Thankfully, situated in isolation on the mountainside, the villa’s privacy ensured their energetic assembly went unnoticed.

Subsequently, the team sprang into action.

The fifteen assassins were drenched in sweat as they trained in the villa’s gym. The gym was replicated to match the one in Liang Long’s villa, equipped with an extensive range of fitness machinery.

Likewise, the lowest level of Liang Long’s villa was replicated here to serve as a gunpowder storehouse, housing hundreds of various devices. The effort the production team put into gathering these props was not trivial to make sure everything was complete.

Meanwhile, the remaining fifteen IT specialists started their search based on the portraits provided by Wang Yun, trying to locate them.

Brother Hu, Old Song, and others were currently in the dark about their whereabouts. And the remaining few dozen individuals had scattered in all directions.

In Wang Yun’s efforts to locate them, Xiao Fang and a group of more than a dozen others discovered something intriguing online. Multiple other groups were also searching for them.

“Brother Yun, there are twelve distinct IPs seemingly on the hunt for your men. I can intercept them and spread false information,” Xiao Fang approached Wang Yun, bubbling with excitement.

Each member of this group was a computer savant, surpassing the next. Mostly, they were societal drifters whom Liang Long had unearthed and united. Their innate talent for computing was undeniable.

Ordinarily, their role involved facilitating Liang Long’s dealings with financial backers, pinpointing and researching targets’ whereabouts and information. They also aided backers in obfuscating crucial evidence. However, assignments for the Mingju assassin organization were not a regular occurrence, leaving them frequently idle.

Being enlisted by Wang Yun to undertake a significant mission invigorated everyone. It wasn’t a matter of tracking down a single individual but locating dozens simultaneously.

Wang Yun responded with a nonchalant shake of his head, his attention returning to the book before him.

“No need, just trace them back. They have more resources to conduct their investigations than you. Keep an eye on their every move online. Of course, when necessary, don’t hesitate to play a little game with them,” Wang Yun said, a hint of mockery twinkling in his eyes.

Xiao Fang nodded with enthusiasm. “Heh, got it, Brother Yun.”

As soon as Wang Yun finished his statement, a unanimous message flooded the livestream, “Scheming!”

This was quickly followed by, “I love it.”

Meanwhile, within the Skynet Operation program team, Wu Mingyu and Kolev were poring over Ames’ computer screen. The Red Hacker Alliance’s three brothers worked by their side.

“From what I know of Wang Yun, his recent arrival in Xiyun City and the bridge explosion were tactics to thwart our moves,” Wu Mingyu hypothesized.

“He’s likely using this slowdown to gain a comprehensive understanding of Xiyun City, which will significantly aid his future endeavors, particularly his escape. It’s safe to say, Wang Yun won’t make an appearance in the next few days,” Ying Yuezi analyzed from the side.

Wang Yue nodded, “My concern is that when he does resurface, it’ll be under a completely new identity.”

“That won’t happen. I’ve had the program inspectors keep a watch on all shops in Xiyun City that sell materials for making masks. Anyone buying these materials will definitely catch our attention,” Wu Mingyu interjected. “Moreover, Wang Yun is bound to get in touch with his subordinates. If we manage to apprehend one or two of them before he does, we’ll surely trace him by following the leads.”

“How is it, Ames? Any leads?” Kolev asked.

His demeanor was now calm, a stark contrast to his earlier desperation. He resigned to the challenge Wang Yun posed. Yet, the resolve within him remained unshaken–Wang Yun had to be caught.

“No clues yet. These dozens of individuals have vanished as if into thin air. They must have money and are likely avoiding cameras, probably hiding out somewhere secluded. How about you?” Ames turned to ask the Red Hacker trio.

The Red Hacker trio, being three in number, had the advantage in both speed and capability over him.

One of them, with furrowed brows and a hint of hesitation in his eyes, shared, “I’ve locked onto someone, but as I was tracing their steps, it seemed like someone launched a cyber attack against me. Whether by coincidence or deliberate, I was hit with four simultaneous attacks. I’ll dig deeper, I should find out soon.”

Having relayed this, the member of the Red Hacker trio focused more intently, eyes glued to the computer screen as his fingers danced rapidly across the keyboard.

“Let’s go see how things are faring with India’s team,” suggested Wu Mingyu and Wu Yaoming as they departed.

“He’s slippery. I’ve had everyone comb through every bridge east, every derelict building in Xiyun City, to no avail. Not a trace!”

This was the frustration vented by Everick, which Wu Mingyu and Wu Yaoming overheard in the corridor before they even got out of the office.

“Xiyun City has a plethora of scenic areas and peaks, which poses a real challenge in our search. Wang Yun is cunning and ruthless. But I refuse to believe he can completely evade surveillance. The moment he shows up, our thermal imaging tech will have him pinpointed. No disguise will help him then. Absolutely none!”
