Chapter 15 - : Don’t Be Mean to Mom
Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Don’t Be Mean to Mom
Lu Xining from the opposite room, after Ji Muye took his two sons back to their room to rest, dialed Monkey’s number and asked him to find her a lawyer for the custody battle.
She was determined to fight for custody of the children, yet she harbored some resentment against Ji Ze. She decided she would wait and see how the child would behave before making a decision.
For now, she would give him the cold shoulder.
Meanwhile, Ming Yuan had actually been paying close attention to the commotion next door.
Liu Xixi, who lived next door to Ji Muye’s room, couldn’t wait to find out the outcome, but was diplomatically declined due to “the children are napping.”
When the three children woke up from their nap, Ming Yuan came over to take them downstairs to play, and upon stepping out, she ran into Ji Muye coming from across the hall.
...
Ji Chao and Ji Ze had both changed clothes.
Lu Nuonuo, full of energy after waking up, dashed towards Ji Chao.
With too much momentum, Ji Chao stepped back half a step.
Ji Muye used his leg to block Ji Chao from stepping back further, preventing the two little ones from tumbling down.
Lu Nuonuo’s eyes, like those of a fawn, blinked up at her much taller brother.
Her voice was overflowing with affection for Ji Chao, “Brother.”
Ji Chao felt a soft spot in his heart, took her hand, and looked up at his father.
“Dad, can I play with my sister?” he asked.
Liu Xixi, holding several kites, felt upset at this scene.
She had thought Ji Muye would refuse, but saw him nod instead, nearly tearing the kites in her hands in frustration.
Ji Ze, hearing his brother’s request, hurriedly changed his tune, “Dad, I want to play with brother too.”
He tentatively reached for Lu Nuonuo’s other hand, holding it gingerly as if afraid he might hurt her.
Lu Nuonuo looked at him and, after a moment’s hesitation, still took his hand.
Ming Yuan sidled up to Lu Xining with a mischievous grin, “Baby, the three little ones you’ve given birth to are such a delight to the eyes, excellent genes indeed!”
Lu Xining glanced at her, “If you like kids so much, have one of your own.”
Ming Yuan quickly waved her hands in refusal, “No, no, no, having Nuonuo as my goddaughter is enough. Just look at Liu Xixi’s expression, she could choke on her envy.”
At that moment, Lu Nuonuo stood in front of the elevator and looked back, “Mommy, come quick.”
Lu Xining smiled playfully, “I’m coming, baby.”
Liu Xixi, clenching her teeth with jealousy, watched the man’s back in front of her, who was completely oblivious to the fact that she had been left a good distance behind by the group.
She hurried to catch up, deliberately coming closer to create the illusion that the two of them were a pair, but Ji Muye silently increased the distance between them.
Upon entering the elevator, she pretended to be unsteady and leaned towards Ji Muye in a delicate collapse.
He instinctively sidestepped to avoid her, not allowing her to touch him.
Liu Xixi expressed her regret of not having fallen into his arms, “Aye, I feel a bit dizzy.”
Ji Muye’s voice was faint, “If you’re not feeling well, go back to your room to rest. You don’t need to come out.”
Liu Xixi looked at him with a face full of coy and sweet affection, “Mm, I’m fine, I want to accompany you and the children.”
Ji Muye stated indifferently, “No need, the kids are fine with me here.”
Ming Yuan found her frail and delicate act funny, yet utterly detestable at the same time, signaling Lu Xining to turn around – out of sight, out of mind.
Lu Xining laughed self-deprecatingly at the situation, no longer surprised by such behavior.
–
The resort featured a large green lawn.
By the time they arrived, many families were already camping with their children, bringing their own tents in addition to the resort’s canopy and tables and chairs provided.
Lu Nuonuo curiously watched the other kids, “Mommy, Nuonuo wants to play too.”
Lu Xining replied with a smile, “Okay, we’ll set up a tent too, one as cute as Nuonuo, okay?”
Ming Yuan carried Nuonuo while Lu Xining held Ji Chao’s hand, ignoring Ji Ze who followed behind them.
He felt very upset, but he couldn’t help following them.
Ji Chao called him over to play together.
Ji Ze sneakily glanced at Lu Xining’s expression, which seemed indifferent to him.
Why was she so nice to the brother and sister but not to him? It made him feel very wronged.
Liu Xixi was jealous of Lu Xining’s interactions with the children. Walking on grass in high heels was not convenient, but to maintain her graceful demeanor, she still gritted her teeth and persevered.
She softened her voice towards Ji Muye, “Aye, should we also set up a tent for the child?”
The man saw Lu Nuonuo carrying something even bigger than herself and his face immediately darkened; he didn’t hear her words.
He quickly strode forward and picked her up before the little one could fall, his voice filled with concern he hadn’t noticed himself.
Ji Muye: “You’re so small, carrying such a big thing.”
Lu Nuonuo felt someone grabbing her collar, and the next second, her feet left the ground.
How had she suddenly taken flight?
The little one uttered a surprised “Yi!” and kicked her little short legs, looking up in confusion.
Oh, it was the mean uncle who had “grabbed” her.
He held her up with one hand and took the pillow from her hands, walking over to Lu Xining in a few steps.
“The child is still so small, and you let her carry things. What if she falls?”
Lu Xining had just finished setting up the tent frame with Ming Yuan, turned around, and heard Ji Muye’s accusation.
Seeing her daughter held in his arms and the pillow he was carrying, she hadn’t had the chance to speak when she heard her daughter defending her.
Lu Nuonuo poked Ji Muye’s cheek with her hand, dissatisfied with his tone, “Don’t be mean to Mommy.”
Ji Muye: “…”
Lu Xining looked at her twin sons also holding pillows and then at her daughter staring with wide eyes at the man, thinking Ji Muye was being somewhat inexplicable.
The items she let the children carry were either very small or very light, mainly to give them a sense of participation and experience, without causing any harm to them.
Was Ji Muye setting off fireworks?
Or was it just an excuse to start an argument with her?
Lu Xining resignedly said, “If you’re bored, go do your own thing.”
Ji Muye’s face immediately sank.
Before his anger could flare, he suddenly felt a touch on his face, two small index fingers pressing on the sides of his mouth, pushing upwards.
A not-smiling uncle is too scary.
Seeing that Ji Muye made no move, the little one hesitated for a moment before speaking, “Uncle, smile.”
The man awkwardly tugged at the corners of his mouth.
Ming Yuan, who saw this scene, covered his mouth in shock, then revealed a knowing snicker.
Lu Xining was also taken aback by Ji Muye’s cooperation.
The next second!

The happy Lu Nuonuo not only gave him a radiant smile in return but also kissed his cheek.
Mommy said obedient babies could get an encouraging kiss; the mean uncle was very obedient.
She got out of Ji Muye’s arms, stealthily hooked his pinky, and led him towards the tent.
Ji Chao and Ji Ze looked at each other and quickly followed.
Although Lu Nuonuo was young, seeing others set up tents with dads doing the work while moms rested, she expectantly looked at Ji Muye to take action.
The resort’s tents were quite large.
Lu Xining and Ming Yuan, despite their efficient moves, didn’t have the physical strength of the boys.
Just as she was about to refuse, she saw the man squat down.
The three adorable children stood by, looking up at him in admiration as Ji Muye started to complete the tent’s assembly.
By the time he realized what he had done, the tent was already set up.
Seeing the tent ready, Lu Nuonuo happily waved at Ji Muye.
The man squatted down to hear her speak.
The little one spared no smiles, her tender face full of laughter, and she thanked him loudly, “Thank you, Uncle.”
Ming Yuan gave Lu Xining a thumbs up, “Our daughter really has a talent for bamboozling people.”
Lu Xining’s mouth twitched: “…”
