Chapter 450 - Reborn

450 Reborn

“Oh? Enlighten me, then!” Lear sneered.

Aloy’s brows furrowed as she pondered for a while.

“Once the exotic beasts leave this realm, the impact on the outside world will be unimaginable. Humans will be plunged into misery and suffer heavy casualties. Moreover…” She wanted to say more, but hesitated. She had a complicated look on her face.

“Moreover…?” Lear asked coldly.

“Not only will the exotic beasts endanger human civilizations, but they may also cause catastrophic consequences. This is an extremely serious matter!” Aloy said solemnly.

“Hehe, catastrophic consequences?” Lear sneered once more. He did not care at all.

“So what if an exotic beast is unleashed upon the world? There are thousands of spirit beasts out there already. Besides, there is no exotic beast that can faze me,” Lear said proudly. “You ants have no idea how powerful exotic beasts are. They are existences comparable to gods!”

Lear shook his head, looking as though he was genuinely disappointed.

“Uncle, are you really going to do this?” Tears welled up in Aloy’s eyes as she sighed in quiet despair.

“Who would have the right to tell me what to do? I shall do as I please! No one can stop me!” Lear said arrogantly.

“Uncle, you’re too stubborn. If you do this, you’ll only spread disaster upon the world!” Aloy said earnestly.

“Hahaha! Disaster?” Lear laughed heartily and said, “You know nothing!”

His lips curled into a sinister arc as he said, “Disasters are caused by humans, but humans are unwilling to bear the responsibility of their own wrongdoings. Instead, they shirk responsibility. Not only do I wish for humans to pay for what they have done, I also want them to have a taste of failure, and make them regret their actions!”

The more Lear spoke, the more excited he became. His eyes flashed with a bloodthirsty ferocity.

“Lear! Your actions are completely inhumane!” Shen Fei roared angrily.

“Hehe, inhumane?” Lear could not help but scoff. Then, he revealed a contemptuous look. “What is humanity in the face of absolute power?”

After a pause, Lear smiled evilly and said, “Besides, as long as I devour your corpses, my cultivation speed will increase by several fold!”

As soon as he finished speaking, Lear leaned into a crouch. He was ready to lunge out and kill someone.

His hands danced and dense silver needles flew out from his fingertips. Each needle contained enough power to pierce through any material, and all of them were heading straight for Shen Fei.

Shen Fei’s expression changed drastically into extreme terror, and he did his best to dodge the needles. A silver needle brushed past his shoulder, leaving a thin trail of blood across his skin.

Lear used an Illusory Soul Technique and transformed into eight afterimages. The afterimages closed in on Shen Fei and attacked him from all eight sides.

Intense pain invaded every part of his body. It was so terrible that Shen Fei’s entire body trembled, and his face became as white as a sheet.

“Roar!” Suddenly, a furious roar echoed through the clouds.

A system notification appeared. [Ding-dong! The Host is under attack. Please choose to either be rescued, or defended.]

“System, I choose rescue!” Shen Fei did not hesitate in his response. After all, he could not bear to watch himself be tortured to death by Lear.

In the next moment, Shen Fei’s body twisted strangely and then disappeared!

“Hmm?” Lear was stunned, and his face showed his confusion.

He did not know what technique Shen Fei had used. He looked around and realized that Shen Fei had disappeared into thin air. He could not help but become stupefied by this.

“What happened? Where did Shen Fei go?”

Lear looked around and carefully observed his surroundings. There was still no sign of Shen Fei.

“Shen Fei, stop hiding! I know you’re here! I advise you to surrender obediently!” Lear shouted.

He had just finished speaking when Shen Fei’s voice came from somewhere beside him, “Sorry, you guessed wrong.”

Lear suddenly turned his head to look and was immediately shocked. “Where is he? Where is he?!”

“Are you looking for me?” a bone-chilling voice said from behind Lear.

Lear’s heart skipped a beat. He turned around and realized that Shen Fei was actually standing behind him!

Lear’s eyes widened in shock once more. “You…! How did you appear behind me? Are you a ghost?”

“Your attacks are useless against me, and they pose no threat to my body either!” Shen Fei said coldly.

“How is this possible? Even your spiritual power wasn’t actually affected?” Lear was still dazed, and his face continued to display his shock and disbelief.

“How do you think I did it? Go on, guess!” Shen Fei said playfully.

“Impossible!” Lear could not believe it.

“I thought you were all-knowing,” Shen Fei mocked.

“Hmph!” Lear snorted, then he took a big step forward and raised his palm in preparation to strike Shen Fei.

However, what Lear did not expect was that Shen Fei’s speed had become much faster than his. Before Lear could react, Shen Fei’s leg swept out like lightning. A kick landed on Lear’s abdomen with great force, and Lear was sent flying several meters away, crashing into a huge boulder.

Crack, crack! The stone shattered in an instant, and dust flew everywhere.

Shen Fei’s gaze turned cold. He slowly walked to Lear’s side and looked down at the battered Lear. He casually said, “Do you still think we’re just ordinary Beastmasters?”

“I… I don’t believe it…” Lear gritted his teeth and growled, looking like he was unwilling to admit defeat.

“In that case, watch as I show you how hopeless you are against me.” Shen Fei smiled sinisterly. He put his fingers together to form a sword seal and drew two strokes across the air. A hissing sound was heard, and it caused Lear’s hair to stand on end.

Swish!

Suddenly, countless sharp arrows began to rain down from the sky. The fletchings whistled as they soared through the air.

Lear’s expression grew fierce as he frantically channeled his elemental energy to resist the barrage. However, the speed of the small arrows were too fast, and there was nowhere to run. Within moments, the barrage of arrows came down on Lear.

“Argh!” An incomparably mournful wail echoed throughout the barren valley.

Lear’s skin was festering, and blood dripped from his body. He was a bloody mess and looked quite miserable. It was simply horrifying.

“What the hell is this?!” Lear’s face was filled with fear and unwillingness as he looked down at the state of his body. He could not fathom how he got into this situation.

“I’m going to kill you! Argh, you’re dead!” Lear roared as though he had gone mad. “Hahahaha, it’s useless anyway! My exotic beasts are about to rush out of the wormhole. You have failed.”

Lear laughed maniacally again. A powerful aura swept out from his body. Then, an overwhelming army of exotic beasts broke through the barrier protecting the wormhole and swarmed out, rushing like a pack of rats into the forest where the wormhole was.

Wherever they passed, all vegetation withered and died. They decimated the place like a plague of locusts.

The wormhole suddenly exploded with a loud bang. The moment it exploded, the entire forest with its valleys and mountains trembled violently.

Lear’s face was filled with ecstasy. “I shall finally be free from this damn wormhole prison! The feeling of freedom is so good!”

“Crap!” Aloy’s expression changed drastically and she quickly yelled, “Shen Fei! Hurry up and force them back!”

Aloy knew very well that after the wormhole’s barrier, which was what prevented the beasts from leaving the realm, fell through, an uncontrollably amount of exotic beasts would be released upon the world. The situation was very dire at this moment.
