Beastmen Love

Astri brings them clothes before they finish bathing. When they’re done, they go back inside and sit on the dining table to eat what Astri prepared with Zin.

While they were eating, Astri was treating their wounds. Of course, they’re delighted to see their female treating them, but they get jealous when she treats Tyr. They always are, even if she already treated many males in front of them.

"Thank you.." Tyr says to her.

"You’re welcome. I’m glad they didn’t accomplish what they wanted." She answers and then takes all the bloody clothes away in a basin.

Tyr follows her with his eyes.

"Higher Priest.. Who exactly is she?" Tyr asks Claud, who was sitting on the couch with the cubs napping around him.

"She’s the most important thing you will ever see in your life. Her powers are bigger than mine and her kind is related to Nature. Nature is what created everything around us, including us. As the time passed, the evil started becoming stronger and the Monsters were created. My kind and hers are capable of purifying evil energies, our existence itself creates balance. However, her presence is much more pure and unique since Nature is so connected to her. Her powers are stronger than mine." Claud explains.

"You hide your kind because of that? Because you’re rare?" Tyr asks.

"And because if we’re corrupted or killed, the evil will get much stronger and will be chaos to all beastmen." Claud answers.

Tyr looks to where she went, thinking deeply.

"What happened to her before..."

"It was Nature talking to her. Only she can talk to Nature this way." Claud says.

"You said your most important mission now is to protect her and you didn’t want to bring her to your temple because you didn’t trust the Elders." Tyr speaks.

Claud nods.

"You can believe it or not, but I saw in some of your Elders’ minds the plan of partnering with Monsters. They believe you’re easy to control and convince, so after killing me they could have all the power for them." Claud answers.

Tyr sighs. He can’t deny that it is fishy that someone like Claud has so much power but doesn’t use it. So why do the Elders feel so threatened?

Astri comes back and sits near Claud. He smiles at her and pulls her to lay down on his chest.

"You don’t have to call me Higher Priest here. Here everyone knows me by my true name. Claud. Don’t call me Higher Priest here. It will prevent evil from coming here." Claud says to Tyr.

Tyr nods and looks at Astri.

"And what are your kinds?" He wonders if they will answer.

"I’m a unicorn." Claud answers, impressing Tyr.

Unicorns are very rare to find. They always live very secluded.

"And I’m a Pegasus." Astri answers.

Tyr never heard of Pegasus, so he’s confused.

"Imagine a unicorn with wings." She says to him.

"Oh.. Wow."

She giggles at his reaction. Tyr can’t deny that the female caught his attention in all ways. She’s beautiful, smart, powerful, great mother and has powerful mates too.

"I believe you now. I must thank you for helping us. All of you."

"I knew you were good. Nature was sure everything was going to end well because of your good heart. You were being corrupted slowly, but you’re strong. We’re glad you made it in time. Luckily my mates heard me." Astri says to Tyr and pokes Claud’s side. "Thank you for trusting in us."

Tyr’s eyes for her were like those of a puppy, but her mates knew those eyes very well. They have another male courting her.

Night arrives quickly and Astri asks Lee to show Tyr a bedroom.

"Why me?" Lee asks her.

"Because you’re the leader. He’s a king and shouldn’t be sleeping outside where he can be attacked. But if you want I can show him the bedroom." She answers, then grabs the sheets.

Lee grabs the sheets back from her hands and walks away, making her giggle. Tyr follows Lee slowly.

"Sleep well, King Tyr. Hope you have a good rest." Astri says.

He thanks her looking at her going into her bedroom.

"You’re planning to pursue her?" Lee asks Tyr.

"I think so... She’s beautiful. Worthy of this castle indeed." Tyr says.

"She won’t be going to where you live even if she accepts you. Will you come to live here?"

Tyr doesn’t know the answer.

"Astri is the greatest female. I won’t lie. I understand why all males want her, but think well before deciding to pursue her because as you can see she must be protected, and if you can’t offer that to her don’t even try. The Great Wall City is too dangerous for her."

"Now is dangerous. Once I find out and remove all rotten elders it will be peaceful again. I can add the laws you have here and change the way of living too."

"That’s a good thing to do. But that doesn’t mean she will accept living there."

Lee turns around and leaves. He doesn’t want to pick up a fight now, but he really feels Tyr is not for Astri.

Tyr looks at the bed and sheets and gets even more impressed when he lays down and feels it is so soft.

"This female..Will be my Queen." He thinks.

However, Lee is right. He shouldn’t ask to be her male before the Great Wall City is safer for someone like her.

Inside their bedroom, Astri is lying hugging Zin and Wayde spooning her, but they are oddly quiet.

"It doesn’t look like you’re happy a war was avoided and we won against an army of Monsters today." Astri says.

"Of course we are. We’re just jealous because the king wants to be your male." Zin answers.

"He does?"

"Yes, I already visited his mind just now. He’s thinking how he can make The Great Wall City safer for you so you can become his Queen." Claud answers.

"And?"

"What do you mean? Do you want to be his mate?" Lee asks.

"Lee, it’s her decision. Not ours. Let him do what he wants. Accepting him or not he will still make things better." Cyprian says.

"It’s true. He will be helping purify bad energies that were raised there." Claud speaks.

"I don’t want any more mates, even if he’s a King. I like the way we live here. I don’t need to repeat myself all the time. You all know I don’t become mates with anyone only for benefits." Astri says.

They become quiet. It’s true, and if they keep talking about this she might get angry and they don’t want to be kicked out of the bedroom having an unmated male at home.

Cyprian is the only one who doesn’t care if she has more males, but he needs to agree with his companions that King Tyr would not be a good male because of his visibility. She will be even more exposed and she might not have a good life there.

The next morning, Tyr comes outside and watches the family having breakfast together. That is an image he would love to see every day. After breakfast, Astri decides to go check on the wounded and if the doctors need help.

Wayde stays with the cubs at home, Claud and Lee accompany Tyr everywhere he wants to go and also discuss further partnership, while Zin and Astri help the wounded that are mostly tended.

Tyr can see no one there knows about Claud and Astri, but she’s very respected since she’s the spouse of the strongest males there.

"You need to teach me what you did here so I can do the same in The Great Wall City. How did the people act at first?" Tyr asks them, but his eyes are still watching Astri.

"They didn’t like it at first, but since they knew they would not have a better place to stay they accepted the changes. Now they enjoy it because it’s a peaceful place, with no sick people. The females are healthier as well." Lee answers.

"I think that’s the most important achievement you got here. Healthy females and cubs. Females in The Great Wall City get sick easily."

Claud and Lee explain to him how to keep the city clean with the laws.

"Everything people use here must be reused. The skins of prey are used for clothing, and their bones can be used for accessories or be burnt and beaten until they become dust to use to feed the trees or our plantations. Remains of fruits can also be taken to the plantation leaders to make the soil more fertile and we always have fruits, herbs, and vegetables. If the family wants to live in dirt inside their homes, they can do it, but outside it’s forbidden and they have three warnings before being banished if they don’t follow the law and keep the city clean." Lee explains.

"All houses and cabins must have sandboxes, that you already know for what it is used for. Some workers will always look if the streets are clean, and if the sandboxes are being cleaned and thrown away. Now we have a wagon in which everyone puts their dirty sand and a worker brings them far from here to be thrown away. This dirt can’t be thrown away in the river. It needs to be thrown away somewhere the rain can wash it." Claud explains.

Hearing them tell all the details of their success made Tyr trust them even more. He’s listening carefully and noting everything in his mind. And Elder walks along with them, also hearing, but his energy is obvious that he’s not happy to see Tyr trusting Claud.
