Chapter 68: Echoes of the Ocean

Chapter 68: Echoes of the Ocean

Astri is thrilled looking at the letters her spouses wrote for her. She cleans her tears thinking who would ever learn something entirely new just to get closer to someone else and prove their love?

She runs to them, they are sitting on the couch and she jumps on them hugging them tightly. Wishing to have more arms to hug all of them at once, she hugs each one of them making sure to say she loves them many times.

"You’re the most perfect males. You’re amazing. If I’m happy it’s because I have you." She says.

They didn’t know she would react like that, imagining she would only feel proud of them, but she was emotional, and that made them see how important is to always express their love for her as well.

Barely does she know that they’re planning for more.

She prepares them a special dinner and offers each of them a massage. They enjoy her affection on their bed, and relaxing their muscles with her massage. freeweɓnovel.cøm

"This is so good... Can you do this every time I’m too tired?" Lee asks, laid down his back up and she’s sitting on his back to massage his shoulders.

"Sure." She answers.

"I want to try massaging you too." Zin says to her.

After she was done with their massages, they massaged her too and she enjoyed it until she fell asleep. They’re happy that they could make her happy too. The bond she shared with Cyprian, Zin, Wayde, Lee, and Claud was unbreakable, and the love that flowed among them was a constant source of warmth in her heart.

——

In the middle of the night, Astri is fast asleep and she dreams she’s flying above the ocean for a long time. Then from nowhere, she goes inside the ocean, and she hears a persistent and enigmatic whisper in the ocean’s depths.

She can’t understand what the whispers are saying but she can see the endless ocean, crystal-clear waters, and a sense of boundless freedom. At the same time she’s amazed, she fears, feeling the water pressing her lungs and when she tries to leave the water, her body doesn’t move anymore.

Startled, like she felt her air was missing for real, she woke up. Claud was already awake and worried. She felt her stirring in her sleep and woke up.

"Are you all right, love? Looked like you were having a bad dream." He asks in her mind, not wanting to wake up the others.

"Yes... I was just dreaming I was drowning I guess. I’m fine." She answers.

He hugs her again and passes his hand on her head to help her sleep again.

She couldn’t shake the feeling that the dream was trying to tell her something, but the meaning remained elusive, so she decided to forget about it.

However, the next night, she had the same dream again, but the whispers were louder and the feeling of drowning got worse. She tries to swim and that’s when she doesn’t feel the water around her even though the air in her lungs is missing.

What is making her without air and pressured is not water. She stops trying to move and thinks about what is actually happening.

"Astri... Astri.. Astri!" She hears.

Then she wakes up startled feeling her body being shaken by someone. When she opens her eyes, she’s faced with her males worried faces.

"Astri.. You scared us!" Lee says.

"What happened?" She asks while sitting.

"You were having a nightmare again, but you weren’t waking up when we calling you and shaking you." Claud says.

"Really?"

"Yes. You looked scared and troubled. Then it looked like you weren’t breathing." Wayde tells.

"I... I was dreaming about the same thing again. I’m flying above the sea and then I go inside the water. I hears whispers, like someone is calling. When I try to move again, I’m stuck and without air, but this time I noticed I’m not actually drowning in water. It feels I’m suffocated with something else." She explains.

"Can I see your memory of this dream?" Claud asks her.

She nods in response and he reads her memories.

"I can see what you explained. Do you feel anything else when you’re there?"

"Like I’m being called there. Like someone is calling me... When I saw Cyprian the first time, I felt like I was being called too. And when he fell in the water, I felt the same despair of needing to go after him." She remembers now.

"You feel you’re being called to the sea?" Zin asks.

"Yes! That’s it. Someone is calling me there."

They feel the wind surrounding them.

"Nature apparently is agreeing with you." Claud smiles.

"Why Nature is not showing you like the other times?" Zin asks.

"I think it’s because it’s not urgent and too dangerous, but it wants me to go see by myself too." She answers and the wind confirms again. She chuckles. "But I agree with Zin, Nature. You could be more direct next time. Or it wouldn’t be fun anymore?" She says.

The wind pushes her hair up and she giggles. They’re never tired of watching her talking to Nature and actually see that Nature is real.

"But that means.. You leaving and going to the sea? That’s risky. There are more Monsters walking around these lands again after the King’s arrival." Cyprian says.

"Cyprian is right. If they get you or Claud, it will be the end. It will be too dangerous." Wayde speaks.

"We made these walls to keep the danger out and you safe. Going out is risky." Lee says.

She sighs. She’s not worried much about herself now, but there are the cubs and she knows it’s going to be risky for them too.

"Claud, can you try to see who is there and tell them to come here?" Cyprian asks.

"I can try." Claud nods.

"I understand that you worry. Believe me, I worry too. But you need to remember that we affect the world with our energies. If we’re scared, we’re empowering the evil. They get more powerful. We can protect ourselves, avoid things, but we shouldn’t lock ourselves because of fear." She speaks.

"She’s right... I took a long time to notice that and only risked leaving the temple when I thought that I wouldn’t be capable to live nurturing my feelings for Astri and not be near her. I noticed that if I came it would be more meaningful for me and for the world if I came to meet her. Now, I’m happy and we’re stronger than ever. We must be careful, but we can’t let our fears tell what to do." Claud says.

Fear is something that they can’t deny that is always with them when it’s about Astri. They fear losing her too much, because they love her so much that they also know they wouldn’t handle the backlash.

"Let’s not worry. Claud will look after who might be calling me. One step at the time. If we need to leave, I know everything will be all right because I’m more than sure that all of you can protect our family and that Nature wouldn’t put us in risk that easily too." She says.

They could only agree and try to go back to sleep. As spouses, they only want to let her live happily and protect her no matter what. She’s someone special and they need to remember that the world needs her pure energy too.

——

On the next days, she keeps having the same dream over and over again. Now she knows that the dream is not Nature that is putting in her mind, but this living being that is calling her.

Claud tries to looks after who might be calling her in the ocean, but he feels that this thing is probably trying to hide. Astri takes the opportunity to watch how Claud does this mind travel to find someone and communicate in long distances.

Three days after the episode of being awaken from her nightmare by her spouses, she decides to mimic what Claud is doing and meditates. She imagines herself flying, watching the castle from above and seeing her spouses working outside and then she flies away, to find Shung listening to guards’ reports.

She lands on the ground next to Shung and realizes that no one is being capable to see her.

Concentrating on the ocean, she blinks and finds herself flying above the ocean. She can see the beach from afar, and Claud floating around like he’s looking after something.

She flies to him, and he smiles proudly at her.

"You can mind travel now. You learned fast." He says.

"Not exactly sure how I did this, but what matters is that I did it." She shyly speaks.

He chuckles and wraps her shoulders with his arm and kisses her head. He looks down to the water and stare at it.

"I can sense someone is here, but it is hiding." Claud says.

She looks down too and feels an energy calling her. They see a dark spot growing bigger and bigger, until it starts to form a shape.

"It is... a whale?" She asks herself impressed.

"A whale?" Claud asks confused.
