Chapter 299: A Monster

The smile on Zhao Luo's handsome face, while he watched his core with excited eyes, would have caused a mountain of anger to melt but Xin Wang remained adamant.

He continued glaring at Zhao Luo, even more, his anger had increased to another level.

Veins could be seen on his forehead. He had just explained to Zhao Luo that it would have been bad for him if Xin Wang hadn't stepped in, but this student of his had a foolish smile on his face.

"You could have died because of the core overdrive and here you are smiling while looking at your core."

Xin Wang shook his head while berating Zhao Luo. Xin Wang tried to calm himself but Zhao Luo continued smiling and looked at him while raising his arms.

"But it turned out well, didn't it?"

Zhao Luo raised his arms in front of his chest while showing a thumbs up to Xin Wang who was just a step away from getting up from his lotus position to smack Zhao Luo's ass.

"Huff."

'I am getting angered because of a disciple who won't even take me as his master.'

Xin Wang felt like crying as his reaction that was filled with anger could be traced back to the worry that he had for Zhao Luo.

In the past, this Sect Leader would have never imagined that he would be worrying for someone like this except the ten elders and his daughter.

While Xin Wang was lost in his thoughts, he heard Zhao Luo's voice.

"Ahhh, Why~?"

The back core had returned inside Zhao Luo's body. Now, he wasn't even able to feel it anymore.

"Don't cry. Don't try to bring it out either."

Xin Wang gave two instructions to Zhao Luo while staring at his stupefied face.

Hearing the instructions, Zhao Luo nodded.

"I understand, Uncle Wang."

Zhao Luo clasped his hands and accepted the instructions.

Even though Zhao Luo was smiling while being berated by Xin Wang, he had already realized how bad the earlier situation could have gone for him.

'I would rather not go through that excruciating pain once again.'

Zhao Luo remembered the pain that had almost shattered every organ and bone inside his body. If not for Xin Wang who had helped him, he would have indeed met his end there.

"It's good that you understand. Just continue finding and feeling your core. There is no need to rush."

Xin Wang told Zhao Luo while staring at the minute changes on his face.

'He is a good talent.'

Xin Wang knew that Zhao Luo would seriously be following his instruction but some words of praise that were better to be kept to himself.

Zhao Luo closed his eyes and started from the beginning.

As he continued with the method of breathing that Xin Wang had taught him, the first try was a fail. Zhao Luo held his breath for a few minutes but he couldn't feel his core. Without wasting any time he continued to the second try, which turned out to be a fail too.

On the third try, as the insides of his body were churning and his senses were focused around the area behind his abdomen, he felt it.

The palpitation of his core was so clear that Zhao Luo could literally see it beating inside his abdomen.

Zhao Luo's breathing training continued for hours in the silent hall where except him there was just the Sect Leader who was meditating.

'I found it once again.'

Zhao Luo mumbled while twisting his lips.

He had no idea that he had a disgusting look on his face. A creepy one to be more exact while he himself was lost in his excitement of shortening his time to find his core.

As the hours continued passing, there came a point where Zhao Luo would just hold his breath and he would already be able to feel his core clearly.

It was like the core was already waiting for him to search for it.

Zhao Luo was quite happy with his achievement and before opening his eyes, he came to a decision.

"It's time to wake him up."

Zhao Luo was ready to disturb Xin Wang since he had achieved what he was told to.

The next step wasn't something that he was able to do at the moment. To bring out his core, he needed internal energy and he had already suffered once and the next step was gathering the internal energy.

The moment Zhao Luo opened his eyes, he found two wide eyes staring at him while a tanned face with a shocked expression was shoved right into his face.

"Uncle?"

Zhao Luo was taken back by Xin Wang closing in so suddenly. Red flags were rising in his head.

He had;t even realized that the Sect Leader was so close to him already.

"What happened?"

Zhao Luo asked Xin Wang. Xin Wang took a step back but he was still looking at Zhao Luo as if he was a ghost.

"Do you know how much time has passed already? Since you continued the breathing training again?"

Xin Wang was pointing his finger at Zhao Luo while asking this.

"An hour?"

Zhao Luo who had been using all of his concentration in focusing on the core was lost.

He had no idea how much time had passed since the moment he had started finding his core again, he had stopped keeping track of time.

"An hour?"

Xin Wang was holding his face and continued in a mysterious way.

"An hour did pass...."

"Wow."

Zhao Luo felt awed as his guess was right on the spot but his mouth almost dropped to the ground as Xin Wang continued.

"Nine times."

Zhao Luo was confused even more confused than by the shocked reaction of the Sect Leader who was the highest existence of the Xin Range.

"So, an hour passed nine times."

Zhao Luo repeated the words of the Sect Leader as if it was nothing,

"Kid, how were you able to train for so long without losing your focus?"

Xin Wang asked Zhao Luo seriously and in a majestic voice.

"But didn't you say that I only trained for nine hours? That isn't even long."

Zhao Luo was looking up as he remembered the ten years that he had trained continuously in his mind, not to mention the hundred years of sleep. The horrendously long hours of training in the dark world didn't even come close to those ten years.

"A monster."

Xin Wang mumbled as he listened to Zhao Luo's words.
