Sitting in the passenger seat, Qu Qi put away her phone. 𝗳𝓇ℯe𝓌𝚎𝚋𝓃𝚘𝚟𝘦𝑙.𝑐𝚘𝙢

Qu Zhen retracted her gaze from her and sighed helplessly, “Why do you always target Xiao? When Shang Yan sees the photos, he will definitely misunderstand Xiao’s relationship with that guy. Do you really have to make them get a divorce before you’re willing to give up?”

“That’s right! Only after Shang Yan divorces Qu Xiao can he marry you!”

“Personally I think you’re the the most suitable woman for Shang Yan. The status of the madam of the Shang family was yours to begin with.”

Qu Qi’s eyes were filled with jealousy and hatred as she gritted her teeth and said, “Even if you don’t like Shang Yan, I can marry into the Shang family in your place… She’s just an illegitimate daughter. What right does she have to snatch things from you and me?”

Qu Zhen heard her muttering, which inadvertently revealed her true feelings. She just stepped lightly on the accelerator and drove out of the alley, no longer talking to her.

The evening breeze was slightly chilly. Qu Xiao’s thoughts were in a mess. She returned to the park near the villa for a walk, trying to think rationally as much as possible.

However, she kept recalling Qu Qi’s words. She could not help but think of the scene of Shang Yan handing her a divorce letter.

Was Shang Yan’s feelings for her out of responsibility or love?

Qu Xiao had wanted to ask him, but she was afraid of getting the answer she didn’t want. She could only poke at her phone screen again and again, muttering silently, “Can’t you call a few more times? It’s clearly you in the wrong. Is this the attitude of someone who is sorry?”

The sky turned white. Qu Xiao rubbed her arms with a desolate expression as she stood up and walked towards the villa.

In the villa’s living room, Shang Yan also sat on the sofa without sleeping all night, waiting for Qu Xiao to return.

He was sitting facing the courtyard’s main door. He had maintained the same posture all night and it was impossible to tell what he was thinking

When Qu Xiao met his gaze when she entered the door, she seemed to read some dissatisfaction in his deep eyes.

Qu Xiao frowned and silently took off her coat, wanting to go around him to the bedroom on the second floor.

“Wait!” Shang Yan’s voice seemed to be covered in frost as he said, “Aren’t you going to explain these photos to me?”

Qu Xiao looked back in confusion and her gaze fell on his open laptop screen.

In a few dimly lit photos, she was hugging David intimately.

“What, are you suspecting me of cheating?”

Qu Xiao deliberately said those awkward words. The corners of her lips curled up into a mocking smile as she stared straight at Shang Yan.

Shang Yan furrowed his eyebrows as if he was strongly dissatisfied with her words. “No.”

“Are you seriously not going to explain yourself?”

“Shang Yan! I’m not as reckless as you think! Last night, I was sitting in the park in front in the cold wind, my head full of thoughts. If you bothered to come look for me, you would be able to see me as soon as you took a step out of the villa. But you didn’t!”

“You were here waiting to question me about a few photos that were fabricated and accuse me of cheating. How ridiculous!”

Qu Xiao’s eyes were red. She did not want to stay here any longer. She turned around and left the villa, disappearing from Shang Yan’s sight once again.

Shang Yan silently clenched his fists. The veins on the back of his hand bulged. He forcefully suppressed his emotions and informed Li, “Find the man in the photos and bring him here…”

Li saw the murderous intent that filled Shang Yan’s body and immediately went to find the man in the photos.

Half an hour later, Li beat David up and threw him to the ground.

David clutched his stomach, his body bent and curled up on the cold ground. He looked up at Shang Yan, who looked like a statue, and explained with his mouth full of blood, “I saw her drinking alone and thought that she had just broken up, so I wanted to become friends with her!”

“At first, I did want to take her to a hotel, but…”

David noticed that Li had raised her fist and immediately covered his head as he wailed, “But she was crazy. She tricked me into going into an alley and beat me up. She even warned me not to go to bars to pick up women in the future.”

“The wounds on my face were all caused by her! Please let me go… I really didn’t touch a single strand of hair on her head.”

David groaned in his heart. He clutched his broken ribs and lamented that he was unlucky to have offended the woman of a big shot.

After finding out what had happened last night, Shang Yan slapped his knees in frustration. He wanted to call Qu Xiao to apologize, but a cold and mechanical female voice came from the other end of the call saying, “Sorry, the number you have called is unavailable.”. “Go and find her! You must find her as soon as possible.”

Shang Yan instructed Li, “Inform me immediately when you find her.”

The image of Qu Xiao interrogating him with tears in her eyes could not be dispelled from Shang Yan’s mind. He slightly retracted his palm and felt a panic that he had never felt before in his heart.
