However, the next second, Kang Weizhen suddenly knocked him hard on the head with her knuckle. Caught off guard, Sheng Yuxi covered his handsome face with his hands, crying aggrievedly, “Mom, Sister didn’t want me to tutor her!”

“So you just didn’t tutor her? Why didn’t you insist? Your sister just didn’t want to trouble you!” Kang Weizhen was anxious, pacing back and forth in the living room. When she heard the door opening, she pointed to Sheng Yuxi, lowered her voice, and said threateningly, “I’ll handle this later. Don’t mention anything related to ‘exam’ in front of your sister when she comes back. Do you hear me?”

“Yes.” Sheng Yuxi said timidly, rubbing his own head.

At this time, Sheng Yang had already walked into the living room. Kang Weizhen immediately changed her tone and said gently, “Oh, Yangyang… you’re back. Are you tired? Come on, give me your school bag. Drink some juice and eat some cake.”

Sheng Yuxi was so surprised that he even forgot to rub the big bump on his head. It was really such a waste that his mother wasn’t competing for an Oscar!

But he thought his mom was right. His sister had just returned to their home and she must’ve been afraid of troubling him, so he came forward with a plate of cookies, trying to make up for it. “Sister, the cookies…”

“Shut up!” Kang Weizhen turned abruptly and yelled. Even Sheng You was startled by her.

Sheng Yuxi blinked. He just wanted to say “the cookies are delicious” and wanted his sister to taste them.

Upon being yelled at by Kang Weizhen, Sheng Yuxi freaked out.

Sheng Yuxi went upstairs into his room. This poor little boy took out his cell phone and dialed a number. “Second Brother, when are you coming back?”

After a long time, he received a call and a gentle male voice rang out over the phone. “Yuxi, I was playing the piano just now. What’s the matter?”

Sheng Yuxi didn’t answer.

The man on the other side of the phone, Sheng Hanjing, the second son of the Sheng Family, was keen and intelligent. “Is this about our sister?”

He was the smartest and most caring person in the whole family, so he was able to guess the issue easily.

“No.” The little poor boy, Sheng Yuxi touched his nose. “Sister is very nice and she gave me an orange to eat two days ago.”

He was easily placated, and because his sister’s personality resembled his eldest brother somewhat, he liked her very much and wasn’t jealous of her.

But somehow, it felt that after Sister came back, Mom turned weird. Although she was fierce to him from time to time before, she normally wouldn’t overreact as much. He felt she was a bit overprotective of Sister.

“Did Mom scold you?” Standing on the street, Sheng Hanjing smiled softly. Dressed in a beige trench coat, he looked as handsome as a supermodel.

Then the smile on his face disappeared. “When Sister was lost, you were still very young, but I can still remember what happened back then. Have you ever seen Father so self-loathing that he kneeled on the ground and held his head while sobbing?”

Sheng Yuxi was surprised. “You mean Dad?”

That big shot in the business world who was such a terror to his opponents?

“Have you ever seen Mom almost suicidal with tears running down her face all day long?”

Sheng Yuxi suddenly choked, speechless. He felt sad just imagining a scene like that.

Sheng Hanjing was silent for a while then slowly said, “I witnessed that.”

“Second Brother, I know what to do.” Sheng Yuxi was a clever boy and immediately got what his second brother meant.

Sheng Hanjing smiled, his fingers gently touching the picture of his sister that his mother sent to his cell phone. His eyes seemed to be misty but he looked as warm as a sun god. “Yuxi, I’ll return to China soon.”

He couldn’t wait to go back home.
