Chapter 42

Chapter 42: How Many Days Can A Flower Be Red?

Sheng Yang was standing in the playground wearing a white sports outfit with a high ponytail, looking confident. She was like a beautiful picture and onlookers could hardly shift their eyes away from her.

Sheng Yue stood opposite, frowning at Sheng Yang.

She had taken a fancy to this outfit too since it was limited edition, and she had begged her mother to buy it for her. However, her mother refused and bought her brother a pair of sneakers worth $1 million.

Next to Sheng Yang, Fang Duo looked at her profile intently, almost salivating.

She stretched out her hand but soon retracted it, wanting to stroke Sheng Yang’s beautiful black hair. It was so smooth and soft that she really wanted to feel her hair slip through her fingers!

Fang Duo had tried to grow long hair, but every time her hair grew longer, it would dry up and split. Sheng Yang’s hair almost reached her waist, but the quality of her hair wasn’t affected at all.

Ou Ye walked past Fang Duo. “Little Fang Duo, wipe your drool. It’s almost dripping to the ground.”

Fang Duo hurriedly wiped the corners of her mouth, and when she discovered there was no saliva at all, she glared at Ou Ye angrily.

Ou Ye put his hands behind his head. “Concentrate on the competition. This is a battle of honor between us and Class One.”

“You’re trying to tell me?!” Fang Duo rolled up her sleeves. “I have to try my best…”

Seeing her so full of fighting spirit, Ou Ye thought she was going to say something tough or that she was going to do a long jump, high jump, and so on, but in the end, she said, “I must try my best to cheer you guys on.”

Ou Ye curled his lips. “…Forget it.”

Fang Duo said aggrievedly, “You know I’m not good at sports. If I participate in the competition, you’ll definitely think I’m a spy for Class One.”

“…” Ou Ye pouted and looked at Sheng Yang. “Sheng Yang, how about you?”

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Sheng Yang said casually.

A question popped up in Ou Ye’s mind.

He thought Sheng Yang grew up in a mountainous village so she must be physically strong and be good at sports. That was why he asked her.

But what did she mean by “it doesn’t matter to me”? Did she mean that she actually wasn’t good at sports?

Ou Ye’s eyes flickered. To be on the safe side, they’d better pick the girls who were normally good at sports for the girls’ events.

The competition, which required the best three out of five sets, had started. The students who weren’t participating in the competition were all standing by to cheer on the competitors.

Listening to the deafening screams and applause, Sheng Yang glanced sideways at Fang Duo, and her beautiful amber-like pupils flickered slightly.

This girl hadn’t shown any merit before, but now Sheng Yang discovered she was really good at cheering people on.

“Class Seven, Class Seven, Extraordinary Class Seven. If we can’t get first place, which class can?”

“XX, XX you’re the best! Class Seven, Class Seven, Class 7 is the strongest!”

Fang Duo’s voice alone drowned out the voices of several Class One girls.

Sheng Yue couldn’t help but look at them and smiled at Sheng Yang. “Yangyang, can you ask your friend to keep it down? It’s not like whoever has the loudest voice will have the final say.”

“Why don’t you ask your friends to keep it down?” Sheng Yang said deadpan without even looking at her.

The smile on Sheng Yue’s face froze.

“Wow, ‘Goddess Sheng’ is awesome!”

“Oh, Yangyang, I knew you would protect me.”

All the students in Class Seven took Sheng Yang’s side while the students of Class 1 thought this girl was very arrogant and aggressive.

She got a perfect score only once. How many days could a flower stay red?

Sheng Yue obviously didn’t expect that Sheng Yang would refute her like this. She was her cousin. Did she have to be so hostile to her?
