Chapter 135: Be Honest

Chapter 135: Be Honest

Being a curious little kitten, Xion peeked from over Allen’s shoulder.

Then he saw her. A lady with a bun, and a single curly flick framing her beautiful face.

However, no matter how perfectly shaped her face was, or how striking her cold aura, the first thing that drew everyone’s attention was her white eyes.

They were not murky like those orcs. They were pure white, like a fluff of cotton.

Xion clenched his fists, forcing down the surge of rage when he saw her.

She is a person of this world. She is not her. She would never smile at me. She would never talk to me.

"If you excuse us," the lady said gently to the only nuisance.

"Of course," Allen’s father bowed slightly. He glared at Allen and then went off.

"Is it convenient to talk to you, Xion?"

While Allen respectfully nodded his head to greet the lady, Xion went back to rest on Allen’s shoulder. Yet his body was too stiff.

"I am in jail. Have no way to get out, and people think I am some pervert. So, yeah, I’ve plenty of time to talk to you."

The lady was not angry at his words. Rather she laughed lightly. It was a bit like the practiced chuckles of Nikolai.

That reminded him... Where is the prince?

Should he not help the one he forced to attend the banquet? What an irresponsible prince!

One-star rating! Huh! Xion snorted to himself.

But soon his attention was grabbed by the words uttered by the lady, and he forgot all about his dissatisfaction.

"My bad for making you angry. But someone had left a message for you. I am sure you are familiar with the word Minato, right?"

Xion’s eyes opened with a jerk, and in the next second, he was staring right into those white eyes.

"Who are you?"

Serena’s red lips stretched to form a smile others might have found seductive, but to Xion, it reminded him of his mother.

"She did not go easy on you, did she? I apologize that you have to go through so much pain, but I assure you, I am not her. Although I will be very happy to be, but sadly I am not your mother."

Xion’s jaw was clenched. His fingers curled around the corner of his suit mimicking the clenching of his chest. It took a few moments, but slowly his grip loosened. ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

"You..." There were too many questions, that for a moment, Xion could not which one to ask first.

Is Minato sensei, okay? Is he still somewhere I can see? Can I go back? How do you know my mother?

The mess of the words became a jumbled ball, and it got stuck in his throat, gagging him, and forcing him to breathe heavily.

"Teacher?"

Allen was quick to notice his change, and so was Serena.

"Bring him here." She commanded. Her voice was devoid of the warmth she had used to talk to Xion.

Albeit, new to Myrthiana, Allen was not as ignorant as Xion. He was well aware of the people he needed to be careful about.

And Serena was one of those people. Although Allen had a very good impression of her, he could not risk Xion’s safety.

So, he patted the thin back of his teacher and made no move.

However, that only made the lady impatient.

She waved her hand, directly knocking the metallic bars out of her way. Stepping on her high heels, she went closer and directly kneeled before Xion.

Her fingers were about to touch Xion when Allen directly grabbed her wrist.

"Teacher hates it when unknown people touch him."

Xion barely calmed himself. His eyes were fixed on the lady, but he made no move to stop Allen,

He had paid the price of his soft heart when Eli tried to hurt him. He did not want to meet another Eli so soon.

Serena sighed lightly, "It must be very hard to stay here when you are used to living in heaven."

"I don’t live in heaven." Xion narrowed his eyes, a clear warning not to talk nonsense.

His emotions were already making him irritated. And the vague clues were the last thing he wanted to listen to.

"A soul that does not belong to this world... does that not make you an angel? We call the place where angels live heaven, my lord. It might not be familiar to you, but that’s how it is."

[Technically, she is not wrong. You also call the souls of other worlds, angels.]

The long silent system spoke, and Xion had to rethink it.

Angel... it seems to be true? But he did not want to!

"Call me that one more time, and I will directly throw you out."

Allen was very shocked when Xion spoke in such anger. He had never seen Xion like this.

However, Serena was much calmer. Rather it was as if she had expected it.

"He told me you have a bad temper when you are emotional, like an angry kitten."

Xion, "..." I hate you, sensei!

"Who are you?"

Serena directly sat on the dirty floor. She sure did not care about her expensive gown.

"My name is Serena. I was a student of your Minato sensei just like you. He taught me how to talk to the winds, while he taught you how to talk with the human body. Am I right?"

Talk with a human body. Weird way to say it but... Okay?

Xion nodded.

"He went into seclusion twenty years ago."

If Xion calculated the time, Xion met Minato sensei exactly fifteen years ago.

When Misaki sensei was about to move to another place, he lost his only support.

It was then he met the man who was in his late thirties. Minato sensei was also the one who saved him and proved his innocence in high school.

Xion had lived in the same house as Minato as a ’paying guest’. But the old man never accepted any rent from him.

Instead, it was always Xion who had received money from Minato sensei. Like a son would from his father.

"What else did he tell you?" Xion’s voice was shaking at this point, but he did not let it show.

"He told me to take care of you. More than once he had told me, ’My child is too soft-hearted, and he acts like an angry kitten when annoyed’." Serena had a warm smile, one that was filled with the nostalgia of good times.

But such good times never last. Do they?

Such was the case. Minato sensei was not here with them.
