Chapter 203: He had become just like his mother

"So now you are willing to take back the position." Su Donghai laughed. "I told you, you would come back to me one day." He smirked. "That woman is bound to be our enemy. Son, this..."

"Don't call me son." Su Liwei's tone was dark, not allowing any crack. "I am not your son. I hate you. I hate her." His words were firm, he was determined at what he said. Disgust was apparent in his eyes.

That 'her' was referring to 'Yang Biyu'.

His heart was of hatred, not a single glimmer of light to be found.

Su Donghai's smile vanished. "You say you hate her. But why is it...I see more of her in you? Have you ever wondered where you got your temperament from? You can say you hate her but isn't it like saying you hate yourself? She is a part of you. Accept it or not. That's reality."

That was a reality that Su Liwei so badly wanted to deny. He wanted to be free from those shackles around his heart. But how could he get rid of part of himself? There was no way. So Donghai was right. Su Liwei could not continue denying it.

But it didn't mean he would accept it.

"I am nothing like her," Su Liwei said. "Regardless, you can not call me son."

Su Donghai felt a deep hatred Su Liwei held for him in his heart. His face darkened. "All for that woman..."

"If it was for her, I would not have come today to take back the position of President." Su Liwei denied it immediately.

"Then...what prompted your change? Last I remembered you resigned from that position because you did not want to go against that woman. What can I not expect from you? Your mother had given her life for the very reason. Yet it was unable to change your heart."

"You are wrong." He said, "I have not come back to take this position to protect her. I have come back to this position to destroy her."

Hearing his words, Su Donghai paused for a second. A moment later, he laughed. "Very well." He said. "You have finally made up your mind."

Up, at the balcony, Su Guozhai was standing. He had been listening to their conversation all along. Before this point, he had some hope in his heart. But after listening to Su Liwei's responses, he could only sigh. "You are, after all, Yang Biyu son." Disappointment emerged in his heart.

When Su Liwei made his way up, their eyes met. Unlike Su Donghai, there was no hatred towards Su Guozhai in Su Liwei's clear eyes. "For what you have done for me when I was young, I am grateful. But if you are going to ask me to spare her, I won't do that." He made himself clear.

Su Guzhao sighed once again. "You are walking the same path your mother did." He looked up. "But you are different... You know its wrong. Then why must you be insistent?"

"You do not understand me." saying those words, he left.

H

ow could Su Guozhai understand him?

Su Liwei walked to the large wall panels in his room. He gazed down, his eyes absentminded.

Living in the Mealor Mansion, his childhood was enshrouded in darkness. Due to the complicated relationship between Yang Biyu, Su Donghai, and Su Guozhai, their family was rather socially isolated.

Growing up, Su Liwei suffered a serious lack of company.

Besides this... his mother, Yang Biyu was a woman concerned with her own matters. She never paid attention to her children. To her, Su Liwei was an object she used to get Su Guozhai's attention. Nothing more. At times, she would use him as an excuse to get what she wanted. If she ever showed him a shred of affection that was in turn for her own sake. Su Liwei was a victim of her obsessions.

In the whole family, if there was anyone who had shown him a positive gesture of kindness then it was Su Duozhai...

Other than him, Su Liwei hated the whole 'Su' family.

He was the heir of the Su family. One would imagine the extent of luxuries he enjoyed. But in his heart, all of that was meaningless. His life was worse than someone from a poor family.

It was when Jing Lihua had come to his life. Like a sun shining upon a dark forest, she had brightened his world. She had shown him what life really meant.

Su Liwei still remembered the confrontation he had with his mother regarding Jing Lihua. She asked him to leave her. He said no. She laughed and killed herself in front of his own eyes.

'You will never be able to find peace with her. I curse you Su Liwei'

Her words still echoed in his head. She was merciless...

For her hatred, she would not even spare her own children.

'You will be the one who destroys her.'

"Stop it!"

'You will make her suffer a thousand times to what your mother suffered.'

"I said stop it!" Su Liwei shattered a glass. His hand was wounded. Blood dripped down but he didn't care.

A maid saw this and gasped. "Y-Young Master Su, should I get the First Aid."

"Get out of here." He said coldly.

"B-But Young Master..."

"I said get out!" Su Liwei's eyes were bloodthirsty as he glowered at the shivering woman.

The maid trembled and rushed out of there like a terrified deer.

Once she was gone, Su Liwei laughed. "Things have finally come to this. So naive of me to think...to hope..."

Since the beginning, Su Liwei had been working against Jing Lihua. After their marriage, he had planned to be the same.

But at some point, he did not know when his heart started to change.&nbs

He was willing to put aside his past and give her a chance, give them a chance. But who knew, he would be rejected in the end? Who knew their relationship meant nothing to her.

"Jing Lihua..." Su Liwei whispered the name. Pain appeared in his eyes. A second later, his eyes darkened. "If you could not be mine, I would not let you be anyone else."

A determination emerged in his heart.

At that time, Su Liwei had no idea that once his mother had said the same words to Su Guozhai.

The mother he hated so much because of her obsessions, the mother he vowed never to be like, he had become exactly like her.
