Chapter 235: Opening Ceremony Part 1
Jing Lihua wondered that how could a few simple words from this man could have such a drastic effect on her. Was it because he trusted her so deeply? No matter what the situation, she could always depend on him. That feeling alone was a great blessing.
"Thank you, Li Zhiqiang." The words emerged from the depths of her heart.
She knew her heart was in the right.
His words reignited the resolve she had made in her heart the moment after her rebirth.
That was...to never have any regrets.
That was how she had decided to spend this lifetime.
How could she have forgotten?
Jing Lihua's change of expressions was intently being observed by the man whose head rested at the back of his palm as he gazed at her as if she was the only thing worth being looked at in the entire world. "Why would you thank me. I just stated the obvious. You always knew the answer."
"But I have a feeling it ould not have been so easy without you. Why are you smiling?"
"Your words are equivalent to stating that we are inseparable."
Jing Lihua winked at him. "Maybe, we have already reached that point."

A few days later, the opening ceremony of the mall was scheduled. Mei Xiu called up to Jing Lihua to inform that all the preparations were going smoothly. A car pulled towards the crowd that surrounded the opening.
The glass rolled down and a face wearing sunglasses revealed itself. "Are you certain all the preparations are going smoothly?" Jing Lihua asked in the earpiece with a worried expression. Her gaze wandered outwards and spotted Fu Jianguo among a few other important people who had played a huge role in the arrival of today.
Their eyes met and Jing Lihua nodded in recognization. Fu Jianguo smiled and went back to engage the media reporter.
"Yes, President." From her phone, Mei Xiu's confident voice traveled. It appeared as if she was checking some detail on the computers from the sounds that Jing Lihua heard. "I will be there to accompany you in a few... Wait! Why hasn't Ms. Ji not arrived yet?"
Jing Lihua's face darkened. "He hasn't?"
Since this was the opening ceremony, a lot of media agencies were invited to cover the event. All of them were informed that an important government official would be attending the event. This thing was supposed to give a nice hype to the whole even which in turn, would result in more publicity. That would be very profitable from a business point of view.
However, now, when the hype had already been created, if the government official failed to appear, everything would go do
wnhill.
All the intended positive publicity would turn to notoriety.
Especially her competitors would give air to such an occurrence to profit their own business.
That was what Jing Lihua could never afford to let happen.
"Yes." Mei Xiu confirmed. From her anxious tone, she sounded pretty much stressed out. "President, wait. Let me give him a call."
"Do so." Jing Lihua hung up and rubbed her temple. Her eyes looked hazy as she pondered over the identity of the culprit behind this.
Her number of enemies was, by no means, small. Let it be those in the front and those in the shadows. She had a long list to choose from.
But considering this Ms. Ji close association, the most probable one was...
"President," Mei Xiu's voice came from the other side interrupting Jing Lihua train of thoughts bringing her to focus. "Speak."
"Mr. Ji is not picking up."
Her suspicions were confirmed with that sentence from Mei Xiu.
"Now, is he not?" Jing Lihua chuckled darkly. Her eyes burned with something.
"Yes," Mei Xiu said nervously. "I just called his secretary. He said that Ms. Ji had fled abroad to attend to some urgent government-related issues. President, this is pretty serious. What are we supposed to do now?"

After the engagement party, Jing Tian had been very angry.
"Tian'er don't be upset, okay? I won't have someone demean you." Gu Ting said; his eyes darkening with a specific memory associated with the culprit who caused his beloved such grievance.
Due to his hard childhood, Gu Ting had never been able to see women as equal. In his mind, women were mere creatures to be fucked and ordered around.
However this Jing Tian had been able to open a specific hidden side of his heart. She had been to show him that there was a soft side to certain women like her; a kind-hearted side he so greatly wished that his mother had in her and treated him better.
It was only fair that he was so protective of her; he would do anything to make this woman happy who was so pure, so untouched.
"What would you do? You left me all alone at the party. How am I supposed to trust you?," complained Jing Tian; her tone not very relaxed. How happy she had been at that point when Zhou Liqin, the great superstar, appeared at her party!
And the next second, the extreme happiness turned into extreme agony. That superstar, the one she could look from afar in admiration, was here to attend his elder sister?!
How could she have felt any h
appiness anymore?
Not only that, to keep her image, Jing Tian even had to humble herself in front of her elder sister.
Jing Tian was incensed. How many fantasies she had to finally skite about her superiority to her sister. And all of them were crashed. And crashed so ruthlessly. It appeared whatever she did, she could never surpass that useless sister of hers.
And the fact infuriated and frustrated her to no end.
"Don't look so sad. Okay? I had some...important business to deal with. And about your sister," laughed Gu Ting, "I have already arranged for a way to have her understand this that we are not the one to mess with."
