Chapter 56: The Revival of Skyreed Part I

"What just happened..." Fabreidis looked at the young man lying in the mess, and the scene of the last strike was quickly played over and over in his head!
Just how strange the attack was! However, Fabreidis couldn’t tell why it went that way! It seemed extremely like a blacksmith waving a hammer except it was not forging iron!
If blacksmiths could do their job this extraordinarily, then all blacksmiths would have long been warriors!
Fabreidis was fully aware that warriors who specialized in exerting their strength to its maximum power were typically blacksmiths! That was just what they did in normal days!
But that blow… it took Fabreidis by surprised! It was way beyond his expectations; he couldn’t even predict its track at all! Neither the target of the strike nor when the strike will land! And most importantly, he was attracted to this punch!
Qian Jin steadied himself with one hand holding onto that mess, and the other gently rubbing his underbelly. He slowly sat up, tidied up his face, and said, "What a fast, ruthless and accurate punch!"
Fabreidis’ face was flushed from embarrassment! He got hit by this junior because of carelessness! What a blow!
"Huh?" Qian Jin touched something with his resting hand. Lifting it up, Qian Jin was surprised to find a sword!
It was a two-inch wide and three-foot long sword, which weighed a lot! It was obviously a quality sword!
"Great sword!" Appraising it, Qian Jin gasped in admiration, but what quickly followed was the furrowing of his eyebrows as he showed a seemingly confused expression. "Why not wash the blade? It’s a first-class sword! It has lost its power in its current condition!"
In answering the question, Fabreidis slowly walked over to sit in the ruins beside Qian Jin, as if he had forgotten the fact he just got hit! He gently looked and touched the blade, as if it had been his lover for a lifetime! Then, the elder unhurriedly said, "It is a Warrior Weapon."
"A Warrior Weapon?" Qian Jin could not help but look at the sword twice. He then noticed a word on the body. "Is it called Skyreed? We should do something!"
"Yes, it was its name." Fabreidis took the sword and touched its blade. "You don’t understand! This sword is dead!"
"Dead?"
"Exactly!" A hint of sadness filled Fabreidis’ voice. " As a warrior student, you should know that any weaponry has its lifespan, and Skyreed has gone past it!"
It was actually cruel for Fabreidis to call the love of his life "dead", causing his face to turn blue. "The blade has been sharpened for many times; even a friend of mine, a Forge Master, could do nothing to save Skyreed! It would break if sharpened again by force!"
"It has exceeded its time already?" Qian Jin took over the Warrior Weapon and examined it with great caution, and then he presented a silent smile. "Who told you so? It is not dead at all, and it can be revived!"
"Revive?" Fabreidis patted Qian Jin on his shoulders and said. "Young man, you don’t need to say such nice things. You may be a good blacksmith, but even a Forge Master can’t bring this sword back to life, how can you make it work? Maybe the seniors of the Warrior Union can do something, but I will not ask them unless I was dead!"
"Even a Forge Master can’t bring this sword back to life?" Qian Jin cracked a weak smile and wondered if that Forge Master was a fraud. How came nothing had been done? This sword could not only be revived for one or two times, it could be done at least ten times!
"Well, don’t obsess about it." Fabreidis reached out for the sword. "Since there’s nothing I could do, I had to let it go and quietly let it lie here to keep me company."
"The problem is..." Qian Jin pulled the sword closer into his arms and said with perplexity, "This sword can be resurrected, and it is just in a fake death. "
Failing to grab the sword, Fabreidis’ arm hesitated in the air! He doubtfully asked, "What did you say? But the Forge Master did call it dead!"
"Well..." Scratching his head, Qian Jin gently said, "I don’t know whether your friend is unqualified or he just lied to you. But to me, Skyreed is still alive, and is in the prime of its life!"
"You... you are not kidding right?" Fabreidis could not control his shaking voice. As a warrior, he had two partners in his life. One was his wife, and the other was his sword, Skyreed! For such a long time, he had always assumed that both of his wives would never come back again! He obnoxiously asked, "Can you really ..."
Qian Jin felt that there was not much pain in his underbelly anymore, so he slowly got up and looked around. "You got a grindstone here?"
"Yes, yes." Fabreidis hastily nodded; he then raised his hand and pointed out. "Come with me." The guardian of the city was obviously not himself due to the stir in heart.
With Skyreed in hand, Qian Jin walked behind the guardian, looking at him with sympathy. It was understood that warriors treated the weapons almost the same as they treated their wives. For them, weapons were not only their wives but their lives! It was also heart-wrenching to face their weapons’ death!
What a grindstone made of marble! There emerged an amazed expression on Qian Jin’s face at the sight of the stone! He had thought it would have been an ordinary one, however, it turned out to be a Slide-Cloud Stone!
The maintenance of weaponry was a compulsory discipline for a warrior, so most academies would provided detailed courses in terms of the skill and the tools.
Grindstones were labeled with different tags, and a first-class one was even able to extend the life of weapons! And Slide-Cloud Stone happened to be such a magical tool!
If a blacksmith could make a sword revive seven times with ordinary grindstone, then with the use of Slide-Cloud Stone, there was a chance to make it up to ten times!
As a result, the price of grindstones varied from heaven to earth. A head size of Slide-Cloud Stone sometimes would outbid a perfect weapon!
How much would it cost for the table-sized Slide-Cloud Stone then? Qian Jin pondered secretly if the stone was shoplifted.
"Right, it is a Slide-Cloud Stone." Fabreidis casually knocked on the expensive stone with a lost expression. "I thought that by using it, my friend who is a Forge Master could have saved Skyreed, But I was told that even with a Skyue Stone, it would never come back to me again!"
