Chapter 16: Find Me a Shaman
Anyone would be curious seeing a cat on somebody’s head.
The security guard at the building entrance recognized Xiao Nian, so he was about to greet him when the Persian cat on Xiao Nian’s head started to tug at his hair.
What a joke.
There were people in the office.
The last thing Pei Zhen wanted was to be seen in the form of a cat!
With one claw clutching onto a tuft of Xiao Nian’s hair, he meowed with much difficulty, “Take the side corridor!”
“Arghhh!” Xiao Nian writhed in pain. This was unbearable. Even if it were Best Actor Fu’s pet, there was no need to be such an arrogant brat!
He reached out to grab Pei Zhen. The cat let out an angry meow and decided to take things into his own paws. He jumped off of Xiao Nian’s head. In a flash, he bounded off in the direction of the side corridor.
Afraid of losing Xiao Nian, Pei Zhen would occasionally stop and turn around, calling out to Xiao Nian. As Xiao Nian approached him, the cat would turn back to make sure he was following him before continuing to run.
It was a long corridor. Around the corner, it became so narrow that only one person could pass through.
Pei Zhen had already been waiting for a while by the time Xiao Nian had arrived. Standing on his hind legs, he crossed his paws and leaned haughtily against the wall, staring straight at Xiao Nian.
“Holy cow!” cried Xiao Nian.
He was taken aback by this strange scene and jumped. He stared unbelievingly back at the Persian cat standing erect and in that instant, swore under his breath.
He couldn’t accept the fact that this cat was somehow possessed. He was a very rational person.
Pei Zhen knew that this was ridiculous, but he had no time to play it cool anymore. He picked up a pebble with his paw and started to scribble on the ground.
Even though it was in cursive, the words were still legible.
[It’s me, Pei Zhen]
Xiao Nian was scared speechless.
[Find me a shaman]
Xiao Nian didn’t know the correct way to respond to this kind of situation.
It took a long time, but it seemed that Xiao Nian finally accepted that Pei Zhen had turned into a cat.
“How… how did this happen!” Xiao Nian seemed even more distressed than the victim. He was on the verge of shrieking, “Pei Zhen! Poor Pei Zhen! Oh my god! Don’t tell me, that from now on, I’m going to have be the manager of a cat!”
As he said these words, an idea suddenly dawned on him. He lunged towards the Persian cat, unable to hide the excitement in his eyes. “Pei Zhen, Pei Zhen! Even if you couldn’t be the Best Actor as a human, you can be the Best Actor as a cat! Believe me, without Fu Sichen as a competitor, you can definitely win the award!”
“Shut up!”
Pei Zhen was hopping mad, and he felt like giving Xiao Nian yet another scratch! What does he mean, Best Cat Actor!
Turning into a cat and not being able to speak was troublesome. Pei Zhen tapped on the phone angrily before typing out a warning to Xiao Nian. [I’m telling you what happened to me because I trust you. All I want is to be human again!].
“Cough, cough.” Realizing that he had gotten a little carried away, Xiao Nian gave an embarrassed laugh. Having caught Pei Zhen’s deadly stare, he quickly changed the subject, “What are we going to do now, Pei Zhen? Are we really going to find you a shaman?”
Xiao Nian had always believed in science, but now, it seemed like nothing was making sense. Not to mention, seeing Pei Zhen now, it seemed like his soul had somehow been transferred to the cat?
[Your current priority is to take me away from Fu Sichen!]. Having to act coy and cute or whatever to the enemy was truly humiliating! Pei Zhen continued to type… [And, don’t forget to investigate why I turned into a cat as soon as possible!].
“Okay, okay, okay. Don’t get so worked up, Pei Zhen.” Xiao Nian, of course, was on Pei Zhen’s side. He hurriedly comforted the agitated Persian cat. “I’ll give Best Actor Fu a call right away.”
[Also, why is he the one taking care of my body? He obviously has bad intentions!]
