Chapter 657: 210. Proactive Dementia_3

There may be many loopholes in this plan, but Noland Lee believed that with the cunning of the Imposter Butler and the prestige of his master, Dickler Fegan, it would be a piece of cake for them to remove any risks in the entire incident in advance.

“Luckily I returned that time bomb, otherwise I’m not certain that matters tonight could have been handled as neatly as they are now.” freewёbnoνel.com

Noland Lee continued flying while in thought, simultaneously pulling up the character information on the Deconstruction Spirit Wizard to inspect it.

In addition to the standardized panel of the “Six-Ring Spirit Wizard,” he had also gained a large amount of skill experience in ‘Energy Molding Magic’.

This skill had advanced directly to Level 7.

The plan predicted by the Elemental Energy Reactor had changed; the demand for various elemental energies had become more precise, and the success rate of the plan had increased from 5% to 7%.

Judging from the change in success rate, the success rate of the plan would reach 100% once ‘Energy Molding Magic’ reached the 100-level.

Noland Lee closed the system interface in his mind, and began to look for his next strategy.

The ‘Hatred Value’ on his ‘Rebirth Magic Potential’ kept escalating, and it had not decreased even as he left the Manor.

This implied that the Imposter Butler was still plotting a malicious scheme.

Given this, Noland Lee planned to eliminate this guy tonight, conveniently seizing even more spoils of war.

Noland Lee flew towards the City of Suman and landed on the outskirts.

Flight magic could not be used in Suman City.

Noland Lee took a Magic Taxi, and while on the car, he took out a pen and paper to write a letter to his bounty agent, Jenela, arranging to meet with her in the Island Affairs Department at the earliest possible time.

The current time was around 8 PM. Jenela had already gotten off work at 6 PM.

Noland Lee had called her out from her home on the pretence of an emergency, so they could meet in the agent’s office in the Island Affairs Department.

If other people asked Jenela to do this, she would certainly try to get out of it and refuse to work overtime, but when faced with Noland Lee’s proposal, Jenela mostly felt a longing. There’s no way around it – Noland Lee’s accomplishment of completing 25 tasks in one week had left a deep impression on her, bringing her a considerable amount of wealth.

The two met at the office entrance and entered together.

Jenela used the [Mage’s Hand] to boil water for tea, while Noland Lee directly asked:

“How much is the reward for taking out a Tide Spy?”

“Huh? What?” Jenela was fiddling with the tea leaves. On hearing Noland Lee’s words, she was so surprised that she accidentally poured the tea leaves out of the jar.

“What I mean is, if I take out a Tide Spy, how much money could we both get in total? There’s no warrant on that Tide Spy, and I don’t know quite how much he’s worth.” asked Noland Lee.

Jenela got herself together. Her pupils dilated slightly and she inhaled deeply, then as she cleaned up the tea leaves on the table, she said:

“Hmm… the default amount for the total reward would be 500,000 gold coins. You could only get the full bounty if you captured him alive. If you only bring his dead body, you could receive at most 20% of the bounty. If he knew the method of ‘Soul Separation’ and wasn’t completely dead, then you could only get 5% of the bounty.”

After answering Noland Lee’s question, Jenela then asked:

“Where did you find the trace of the Tide Spy? How come I haven’t received any news about it?”

“Tide Spies are spies after all, Jenela. Naturally, they know how to hide themselves. If they were easy to catch, they wouldn’t deserve to be called Tide Spies.”

Noland Lee received the fragrant tea and said:

“You would never guess, that Tide Spy was hiding right in Dickler Fegan’s house, and you even corresponded with him.”

“This… this is impossible…” Jenela was astonished, and after half a second, she gasped:

“My god, the Tide Spy you mentioned… could it be Fegan’s welcoming butler, Helamat?”

“That’s right,” Noland Lee sat down in the chair, held up his tea cup, took a sip, and watched her shocked expression with satisfaction.

Jenela found it hard to believe what Noland Lee had said; she was confused about too many things. She sat down in her own seat and asked Noland Lee about the entire sequence of events.

When she heard that Noland Lee had immediately identified that there was something wrong with the contract box, just as Noland Lee had predicted, Jenela looked really puzzled.

Yet, Noland Lee calmly said that Selena, who had also been visiting the Manor, knew the reason. If Jenela wanted to know why, she could ask Selena.

In response to the mysterious Noland Lee, Jenela gave up the idea of asking any further questions and thought instead about what she would do if what Noland Lee said turned out to be true.

Without her having to act distressed while figuratively pulling her hair out in confusion, Noland Lee directly offered up the answer which he had already thought of:

“We have two options, Jenela. The first is to notify Selena, and have her control that Tide Spy, and then have Selena personally cast a spell to remove the Tide Spy’s disguise.”

“That’s impossible, Jarvis,” Jenela frowned, folding her arms, shaking her head and saying:

“Not to mention whether we can trust your judgement that the contract box was disguised as a poisonous bomb, even if that were true, we still cannot conclude that the Welcoming Butler is a Tide Spy based on just a poisonous bomb. Perhaps, he’s simply a Butler being controlled or forced to act by the Tide Spy. The real Tide Spy could be someone else, he might not even be in the Manor.

“Excuse my frankness, your judgement is too arbitrary. I don’t fully agree with it. Also, I’m very confused about how you identified that there was a Tide Spy in the Manor. How could you immediately be so sure that there was a Tide Spy in the Manor?”

Noland Lee chuckled, then said:

“That’s why I’ve prepared another plan, Jenela. According to Law No. 1 of Ulnas Circle, as a first-circle wizard, I can issue a duel to the death to extraordinary individuals not lower than my own level.”

Jenela held her breath, and after a full two seconds, she said:

“Duel to the death!? Is this your solution?!”

“Yes.” Noland Lee nodded, tapping the table, and said:

“Please give me a few application orders for a duel to the death. The Welcoming Butler is, after all, a person of some standing; I want to give him a dignified end. During the duel to the death, I will interrogate him and have him reveal his accomplices. If there are any other ill-intentioned individuals in Fegan’s Manor, I intend to deal with them all in duels to the death.”

Jenela swallowed hard, eyes fixated on Noland Lee:

“You’re not joking, are you?”

“Of course I’m not joking.” Noland Lee said solemnly:

“The welcoming butler will certainly die tonight. The special application order for a duel to the death would help me accomplish this.”
