Chapter 262 - Fight (1)
262 Fight (1)
“CURSE YOU!!!”
Hearing the scrawny humanoid demon’s loud shout, it had become the war horn that started the battle between the two sides.
Returning the shout with his own roar, Robus leaped forward, leaving Blake, Cyra, and Vera behind as he made his way toward the unknown humanoid demon that carried two bone swords in his hand.
Blake had made a quick decision about who would fight who based on the appearance and the little-known characteristics of his current enemies.
While it would make sense if two of the strongest and most robust-looking demons from the two sides clashed with each other, and Blake would actually do that if he didn’t know anything, but Blake already knew the muscular humanoid demon’s ability and pairing up Robus against him would only be disadvantageous to Robus despite the two of them having a similar build and fighting style.
While the two liked to use their fists to sink the skulls of their enemies, the problem was the muscular humanoid demon’s ability really gave him a very sharp edge in close-quarter battles where his fist would make a lot of contact with his enemies.
If Robus were to be hit by the muscular humanoid demon’s fist, which was something that definitely would not rarely happen if the two fought, then the muscular humanoid demon would be able to use its bloodline power to paralyze Robus’ body, which would lead to more punches hitting Robus’ body, meaning that there’s a chance that Robus would have his body in a constant state of being paralyzed by the muscular humanoid demon.
Hence why Robus was sent to fight against the unknown demon with bone swords. Although Blake still didn’t know about the demon at all, choosing Robus to find out the ability of the unknown demon was the safest choice of them all considering his body was the toughest and he would not be defeated by just the unknown enemy throwing several attacks.
And assuming the demon was holding two swords in his hands, it wouldn’t be a small chance that the demon was a physical type demon, not a demon mage, which means that he and Robus would be playing in their own field, and Robus didn’t have to worry about suddenly being trapped in spells.
.....
Well. of course, seeing the huge gorilla that it had fought before trying to avoid him, the muscular humanoid demon didn’t sit still and tried to prevent Robus from reaching the other humanoid demon beside him.
He knew how big his advantage was if he were to fight Robus and he wouldn’t want to get that edge that he needed in the fight.
Unfortunately for the muscular humanoid demon, Blake had already thought of that and expected the muscular humanoid demon to not stand still when Robus ignored him and instead went to the other demon.
The split second Robus roared and leaped forward, Blake’s hands already moved frantically in the air as he completed two runes that were aimed towards none other than the muscular humanoid demon.
One set of runes was quickly released from his hand, manifesting the darkness spikes spell right under the muscular humanoid demon, breaking his straight sprint towards Robus and forcing the muscular humanoid demon to leap sideways.
But forcing just a tiny detour was not enough to completely stop the muscular humanoid demon from making his way towards Robus. His speed was that fast, about the same as Robus even though Robus had evolved once and Robus didn’t have any of his powers sealed.
Fortunately, Blake already knew that since he had experienced firsthand how unfair the muscular humanoid demon’s strength, agility, and overall physical strength was the first time he fought with him.
And that was why he held onto the second set of runes in his hand, not letting it manifest into the world simultaneously as the darkness spikes spell.
Instead of letting the second set of runes sit idly in front of his hand, Blake sent his fiery nether into his palm, overlapping a fireball with the glowing set of runes.
And the second the muscular humanoid demon’s feet lifted off of the ground to dodge against the darkness spikes, Blake’s hand tightly locked onto the direction of the muscular humanoid demon as Blake followed the humanoid demon’s movements until he was about to land on the ground.
That moment when the muscular humanoid demon’s feet were about to touch the ground was the moment that Blake had been waiting for.
The moment it happened, Blake released his hold on the second set of runes as he let the formed darkness bullet assimilate with the dark flame fireball, creating the dark flame bullet that not only traveled as fast as a bullet but also packed enough punch to cause a small explosion.
Sensing the high amount of nether suddenly coming from his side, the muscular humanoid demon quickly turned his head to see the dark flame bullet that was aimed towards him.
Seeing the familiar dark flame that had left scars on his body, scars that were still very noticeable on him despite the medicines that he took, the muscular humanoid demon instantly knew that he couldn’t let the dark flame bullet hit his body again.
Feeling it once was enough, he didn’t want seconds.
Without a second hesitation, even when his feet hadn’t had any footing yet, the muscular humanoid demon instantly activated his bloodline power, mobilizing the paralyzing elements in his body to travel onto his fists.
His fist was then shot forward, straight into the direction of the incoming darkness flame bullet, just the moment when his feet had landed on the ground.
The muscular humanoid demon knew that with the timing of the dark flame bullet, he couldn’t get much momentum from his body that had just landed, and to make up for the lost strength, the muscular humanoid demon pumped in even more of his bloodline power strength onto his right fist, right before it made contact with the dark flame bullet.
The two forces then collided with each other as the two canceled each other out. He had learned the method of how to deal with the dark flames and he certainly wouldn’t hesitate to use that knowledge.
And to make sure none of the dark flame sparks ever hit his body, the muscular humanoid demon quickly jumped back the moment the dark flame bullet scattered into the air.
Blake’s attack might have been nullified easily without causing a single scratch on the humanoid demon’s body, but he certainly succeed in taking the muscular humanoid demon’s time and attention, letting Robus throw his first punch onto the humanoid demon with bone swords and prevented the muscular humanoid demon from interfering.
And as if Blake didn’t want to waste the gap that had been created and wanted to maximize it as much as possible, He already sent Cyra forward, telling her to use her explosions to go to the back of the muscular humanoid demon as fast as possible.
With the two of them being in the front and back of the muscular humanoid demon, Blake quickly gave Cyra the signal that they had agreed upon as Blake and Cyra began waving their hands to the side, creating walls of dark flames that encased the three of them, including the muscular humanoid demon inside the dark flame walls.
Thinking that the dark flame walls might still be not enough, Blake threw several wooden cubes outside the dark flame walls, injecting his nether inside them to activate the rune formations contained inside and erecting a darkness dome that not only encased the dark flame walls inside but also covering the sky above, preventing anything from going inside or outside the dome.
