Chapter 272 - Finishing Up(1)
272 Finishing Up(1)
One quick moment, one that was only enough to blink was all that it took for Vera, Cyra, and Robus to realize the situation they were currently in.
Surrounded by humanoid demons from all sides and with the unconscious Blake sprawled on the ground, all three of them knew exactly what they needed to do.
“We need to protect Brother!” Cyra quickly enveloped her whole body with dark flames, shooting past the group and delving straight into the sea of humanoid demons.
The same as the not-so-little demoness, the building-sized gorilla and the gorgeous demoness instantly wielded their weapons and started brandishing them against the crowd of humanoid demons.
With the big shots that could actually have a chance to stop them gone, one fled and the two dead, nothing was stopping the three people to go full on rampage without having to care too much about their enemies or getting themselves killed.
Without proper mobilization of the army of humanoid demons and someone to create the opportunity for the strength in numbers to play their role, the three demons that could level a humanoid demon’s base on their own certainly wouldn’t find it hard at all to clear out the encirclement of humanoid demons.
Cyra had it the easiest since she just threw her dark flame fireballs and spread out her dark flames as far as possible, killing humanoid demons every second with her hard-to-extinguish dark flames burning those poor humanoid demons.
Robus didn’t fall short compared to the fiery demoness as now with a weapon of his own, his monstrous strength was able to be utilized more efficiently to kill his enemies.
He didn’t need to aim his fist correctly to puncture his enemies’ chests or break their skulls anymore to kill them in one hit since the dark earth spear was already big and sharp enough that any mindless swing from Robus was enough to cut a humanoid demon or even several of them in two.
.....
And out of the three, Vera was the calmest of them. Meaning that she focused more on defending Blake’s sprawled body instead of exterminating their enemies.
But that didn’t mean she stayed passive either. Not wanting to waste her rune formations, Vera mainly used her darkness tendrils to hold off and kill the humanoid demons.
Sometimes she would cast darkness spikes to straight up skewer the humanoid demons while other times she would use darkness binding spells to break the already chaotic formation of the humanoid demons even more.
Which succeeded splendidly as the group found it hard to even maneuver between themselves. Let alone focusing their advancement on the unconscious Blake.
The speed that it took the trio to cull the number of humanoid demons was already extremely fast. And it would take them less than a dozen minutes to finish off the literal hundreds of humanoid demons and erase them from the first demon realm.
And it would really happen in just a few minutes if not for the sudden change that happened in the middle of the slaughter.
From the direction of the humanoid demon’s base, an aggregation of nether could be felt suddenly disappearing from the realm. And it wasn’t a little amount that Robus couldn’t feel due to his lower nether sensitivity.
Everyone, every creature around the middle of the continent could feel the sudden change in the realm.
The battle between the trio and the humanoid demons ceased for a moment as they all turned their heads toward one direction, which was the humanoid demon’s base direction.
Almost all of them didn’t know what had just happened. But the few of them, ones that had lived long enough in the middle of the main continent to see other demons rise and evolve, knew what had just happened.
And of course, Vera also knew what that feeling that had been broadcasted all around the area of the gate to the deeper realm meant.
Someone had successfully evolved and left behind the first demon realm to descend to the second demon realm.
Recalling what happened a few moments ago and a certain someone who broke his seal and unleashed his power on the first demon realm, almost risking himself regressing into a demon of the first realm, it didn’t take her more than a split second to know the muscular humanoid demon had returned to the deeper realms.
With the last of the humanoid demons from the second realm disappearing from the first realm, a chain that binds all the native humanoid demons in the area seems to have also been released.
From their vicious and relentless charge forward to attack Blake and his group, a sudden light of realization came to their eyes as they abruptly ceased whatever they were doing.
The raised weapons and fists, the feet that charged straight forward, they all stopped as the humanoid demons now used their eyes to take in the information and used their ‘developed’ brains to realize the danger they were in.
A man-sized fireball that could spit out smaller fireballs every second and fly anywhere she wanted, a gorilla that was so big they could barely see its chest without looking up, adorned by an armor that they couldn’t do anything to other than to leave scratch marks on it, and also a demoness that exudes out a very dangerous aura just by lightly floating above the ground.
The humanoid demon had their eyes open and their heads working properly now that they realized what they were doing was basically suicide.
The moment the shackles that forced them to do something were gone, all their brains knew what they needed to do in the next second.
And that was none other than to turn back and save their lives.
Starting from the ones in the front who received the most pressure and horror from the trio that brought death to anything that stood in their way, all the surviving humanoid demons raced against each other. Moving their feet as fast as they could to leave the death zone.
Cyra and Robus, who had been too immersed in harvesting souls, had almost chased the running humanoid demons and made sure that none of them survived.
But a quick sentence from Vera quickly woke them up and pulled them out of their violent daze.
“Blake is waking up!”
