Chapter 131 131 – Poetry In Motion
My shapeshifters released the undeads out of the pocket dimension portal, triggering my captives to scream in terror.
"Silence! Or we'll turn you into skeletons like them!!!" Xenora's firm words forced them to fall silent again.
"Well, you like playing with corpses, I see." The pink-haired woman let out a sinister laugh. "You love to use things that are against ethics, demons."
I raised my hand to keep the shapeshifters in place, not moving their undeads.
"Get ready, Xenora." Then, I whispered while glancing at her. "Let this be my business. You save them all."
She only glanced back at me, but I knew that she had agreed to my order.
"Nice to meet you, miss prophet." I took off my helmet, spread my arms, and smiled.
"Vorn…. I can see the darkness in you is the greatest of all. You have truly been reborn." She hissed in her deep but feminine voice. "I didn't expect us to meet so soon."
The scientists and workers behind me gasped and sounded frightened. However, I'm sure it happened not because of the prophet's voice but because she said my name.
"You don't want to have a nice chat with me, huh?" I chuckled as she drew her rapier.
"Let them go." She pointed that thin sword at me. "Or you will feel this."
The blade of the weapon gives off an orange glow like embers. Even so, she did not immediately attack.
It's because I have a lot of captives. She must be thinking that she shouldn't be reckless, or else my underlings will injure them.
Of course, I'm not going to give orders about that. These people will be great assets for me to reach my goal.
"Don't worry, I'll take good care of them." I shrugged.
One of my prisoners screamed hysterically and ran.
And stupidly, he headed towards the prophet, which means he passed me. I easily pulled his body and threw him into the group. Several undeads caught his body, and he became more hysterical, then passed out.
? And at that moment, the prophet came forward to me with fast steps. I immediately spread my wings, then flew towards her.
After dodging her sword thrust, I caught her body and carried her flew up. We wrestled in the air, and I saw the pink-haired mage raise a high earthen wall to surround my captives, shapeshifters, the undeads, and Xenora.
Well, I'm sure they can get out of that situation. I don't have to worry about them.
I'd better focus on the prophet. She was still trying to free herself while I took her farther away.
Hearing the approaching flapping wings, I looked back and dodged the flames from the prophet's wyvern. That creature kept chasing and attacking me with its flames, making me keep dodging. I'm sure I won't be too affected by the bursts of fire. It's just I'm not sure I can keep the prophet in my arms if my body is hit by the creature's attacks.
Even now, I endured her elbows to my face, as well as the pain and heat from her rapier against my back.
"Calm down, please!" I'm still desperately trying to keep the woman's body from falling. "I haven't planned to fight you yet, honey."
And she immediately stopped squirming after hearing my last words. "Honey!? What the fuck did you call me!?"
Then, she squirmed again, now wilder. The wyvern's bursts of fire also grew more intense. I became more and more overwhelmed holding her body.
Despite that, I like her wild attitude.
"Arrggghhhh!!!" She was finally able to push me and escape. Her body then dives downwards.
I tried to catch her, but she did a somersault in the air, then a rope appeared from her arm armor.
The rope's end stuck to the body of the wyvern flying around in a circle. The prophet then swung herself to avoid my catch.
A magic rope that can stick anywhere, huh?
She let go of the rope from the wyvern, then dived again while pointing her weapon forward.
I spun to avoid another stab from her.
The prophet continued to swing with the rope attached to the wyvern, occasionally releasing it, then maneuvering in the air to attack me from all directions.
And her every move stuns me. She moves with grace and tenderness. The way she swings, jumps, and even attacks look like choreography that is a feast for the eyes.
If only there was some lilting music, this would be an amazing show.
I didn't even counterattack because I was amazed by the prophet's movements.
And because of that, her metal strap stuck to my leg without me noticing. The next thing I knew was that she was darting towards me because her rope had reentered her arm armor.
I punched her face reflexively, causing her body to bounce and her helmet off.
She looked at me with her sharp eyes like those of an eagle. Her silky black hair with reddish tips fluttered in the strong wind.
I've seen a lot of beautiful women, but she is probably the one that makes my heart skip a beat the most.
Perhaps every feature of her face wasn't the prettiest, but they formed something that I found perfect.
"Hey, how about you come with me, honey!?" I asked her while laughing. "I'll give you everything you want! You want your country to prosper!? I can even make that happen!"
She kept looking at me in disgust. "A demon like you will only cause mischief in this world!"
"Yeah, I did do some damage!" I kept speaking aloud to fight the sound of the strong wind. "However, I made mischief for something better. Have you heard of Marystar city!? I made the city safer by leveling the criminal district!"
She flipped again in the air, then landed on her wyvern's back. "I will not be affected by your rotten talk, evil! I will exterminate you and your subordinates until absolutely nothing is left!"
Well, I didn't expect she would accept me right away, after all. It's not going to be a challenge for me. 𝙛𝘳𝒆𝒆𝒘e𝗯n𝗼𝘷𝚎𝚕.𝒄૦𝓶
The wyvern made sharp maneuvers, and the prophet seemed ready to jump.
This time, I won't fly idly by. I'll counterattack.
