Chapter 335: Final Preparations.

As he was wearing his uniform and armor, he chuckled and said, "I doubt the cloak will be useful in the Umbra World."

The cloak is useful, but it is not infallible. Scouts were still captured even though they possessed a cloaking armor because it required a lot of energy and was short-lived.

Most importantly, it couldn't work on elves because they have a great sense for living things. They can sense a soldier even if that soldier is cloaked.

Even if they couldn't sense living things very well, the forest conditions of the Lignum world meant that soldiers were always stepping on twigs and leaves. That was a dead giveaway of their position.

So the cloak wasn't that useful in the Lignum world. He has an inkling that it won't be useful in the Umbra world either because the strongest race in that world can also sense living things.

This race can sense living things far better than elves. They have a wider range and more accurate perception of living things.

Unlike elves, who are vegetarians and can be likened to grazers, the race he will be up against next are apex predators. It makes him excited just thinking about it.

After the armor, he took a weapon. It was a bow. He picked it because it is silent, and silence will be very important in the Umbra world.

He slotted an energy stone into the bow. Then he slung the bow across his shoulder.

After the bow came the combat boots. Next came the protective and tactical goggles.

The next thing he picked was the hearing aids. He doesn't need it thanks to his extraordinary perception, but it doesn't hurt to have it, so he picked it.

The last thing he picked was a bag. He used it to carry his energy stones. That's the only thing he brought with him for the war. It is also the only thing that is allowed.

As for his clothes, they were taken by the robot. He will get them back if he survives the expedition. If he doesn't survive, then his clothes will be the least of his concerns.

After he was done with his preparations, he checked his updated information in the Yggdrasil civilization database.

He tapped the mark of a tree on his arm twice. This caused the tree to move and writhe. It transformed from being two-dimensional to being three-dimensional.

A gap appeared in its center from which a screen was projected. The screen was transparent like glass. But words were displayed on it for him to see.

- PERSONNEL INFORMATION.

- COMMUNICATION SYSTEM.

- MISSION SECTION.

- ACHIEVEMENT LOG.

- MISCELLANEOUS.

- EXCHANGE.

He picked the first option, Personnel Information.

- Name: Kelvin.

- Identification Number: 936,628,963,194,741. fгeewebnovёl.com

- Rank: Two Stars.

- Merits: 1025.

- Feats: None.

He grumbled after seeing his personal information, "I still don't have a feat. What does it take to get a feat? Isn't fighting nonstop for a month enough for a feat?"

There was no Wrath beside him, so there was no one to answer his question.

He said, "At least I am no longer at the zero stars. Not only did I survive my first expedition, but I also did so well that I got the second star."

He said in anticipation, "I should be able to increase my star rank now that I am stronger. I might even be able to gain a feat."

The merit points he has are what he had left over from last time when he exchanged his merit points for game points. It is small now, but he is sure that it will increase soon.

It is one of the other things thay he is sure will increase after he performs well on the foreign battlefield. He had that much confidence in himself.

It was then thay he realized just how much he had changed since his first expedition.

Back then, noobs with zero stars were easy to identify by their fidgeting actions and the way they stared at everything in surprise and awe. But now there is a confidence about him thay makes him different from a noob.

He marched out of the room with that confidence. What appeared on the other side of the door was a metallic city. Far in the distance was a large mothership.

The mothership had a different shape from the previous one he boarded. This one was taller and shorter. But they were about the same size.

Actually, it is more accurate to call the mothership a skyscraper on its side that also flies. It also has massive and numerous guns, so it is not as harmless as a normal skyscraper.

With a length that is almost 4 kilometers tall. It is four times larger than the average skyscraper on earth. Normal skyscrapers will quake in front of it just because of its size. It won't need to use its guns to intimidate them.

He wasn't gawking at everything like a noob, but he still took time to examine his surroundings.

Beneath him is a metal ground. He knows it to be a metallic plate in the core of some world.

Above him is a blue sky with clouds and a sun. But he knows that is a fake sky created with a display.

All around him are men and women going around doing their business. Some of them are soldiers like him, while others are technicians.

There were also bots and drones. These bots were carrying or moving things across the metal plate to the mothership. The drones were also busy flying to and from the ship.

Almost everything going on had one thing or the other to do with the mothership. The mothership was the nexus of activity and the center of attention of everything.

He had a smile on his face as he marched to the mothership. He was one among the many people walking towards the mothership.

He had to join a line in order to use the elevator that would carry him up to the personnel entrance of the ship. There were other entrances, but this was the only one he could use, and he had to use it without flying.
