Chapter 423 - Threat of the God of death

423 Threat of the God of death

The duo stood ahead of Cecile with cold looks on their faces. A cool breeze blew between both sides as Alex gazed at them with frosty eyes.

Debris from the destruction cursed was littered everywhere and civilians hidden within their homes could only peep from their windows.

Damon frowned as he could feel so many eyes on them and he knew this was not a battle they could afford to lose. But unlike the Gravity spirit, Rose was rooted to the spot with a deadly serious look on his face.

“This man... Is stronger than the Beyond. Should he go through the test, he would definitely surpass the five-star ratings” Rose said these words calmly but Damon and the Gravity spirit shivered.

It was clear this man was holding back against him since his intentions have never been to kill Damon but he never thought the gap would be that much. In the past, only he could beat the Beyond in a one-on-one Deathmatch but now it seems the numbers have increased.

Huff!

Thud!

The pavement beneath Damon’s feet cracked under his weight as he sluggishly rose to his feet. He performed causal stretches and his eyes raged with indifference as he walked to the side of the two deities and stood gallantly.

“If that is the case, we might as well try to kill him here and now,” Damon said with a frown and the duo nodded in agreement.

.....

Everything around them was in shambles but it was nothing compared to what was going to happen now.

Damon stood and black dragon scales began spreading across his body. His true power has always been death magic and dark-related magic spells. If he has the intention of bringing out the best of this inheritance. It can only be through the power of Ducalian, the ancestral dragon of life and death.

With one eye black and the other golden, Damon took two heavy steps forward before speaking.

“I will lead the attack since I have the most offense and defense. the two of you will have to support me in any way you can”

Mhmm!

Rose and the Gravity spirit nodded in agreement before looking ahead with cold eyes. They weren’t sure why Damon pushed this deep into the enemy territory but this was an opportunity to kill the leader of the enemy forces and the invader.

They never planned on letting this opportunity go.

“Three of you? Heh! Bring the Beyond and the God of death together if you wish to see me break a sweat” Alex said with his hands thrown wide open and a cocky yet confident look on his face.

“Talk is cheap let’s see how much longer you can last” Damon retorted coldly.

“Ha! Coming from someone whose body is too weak to use his inheritance. Fighting now will only damage this body” Alex said with a calm look.

His words were cruel but also planned. By calling the Beyond and Damon in the same statement he was implying Damon wasn’t present, subconsciously increasing the trust these two had in their new ally.

Little did they know he is the demon they are all scared of.

Shhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!

Suddenly black aura diffused from Damon’s body as black dragon scales could be seen sprouting out of nowhere.

Bang!

Damon lunged forward and threw an open palm forward!

Swoosh!

Alex sidestepped and threw his hand forward like a blade.

Pfffff!

Damon staggered back as a slash would be seen across his chest while his dragon scales were torn through instantly causing blood to squirt out.

His cold eyes shifted to the enemy and he realized there was a strange black flame coated on the hands of the enemy.

“The move is called void flames. Both in this world and the heavens, no one can stand against this power” Alex said as he watched Damon stagger back and fall to his knees.

His face was deadly pale and covered in sweat and his eyes widened due to shock.

He could barely move!

_’This mortal body... the limitations are far too much. Even If I use my death magic I will still end up dead because of this body. I need to find a way to strengthen it without drawing the attention of the Beyond and the other deities_ Damon cried in his mind but there was nothing he could do about it.

Heh!

Damon revealed a weak smile as he casually staggered to his feet. The fact the enemy stood there and watched him stand was something he considered disrespectful. If not for anything, he deeply wore to reap this man apart but today is not the day.

The God of death is not a mindless fool who will rush into any battle without a plan. By the way, it was because of his plans that he was able to attain all the powers he has today.

“Withdraw... This is not a battle we can win” Damon said and the two deities behind him nodded in agreement. They didn’t need to be reminded of this thing before knowing it was real.

These two have seen enough dragons for a thousand lifetimes and knew how powerful the bodies of dragons are. To see the enemy split it like it was nothing, was so terrifying they couldn’t even speak. It was shocking Cecile was the one speaking for them.

“Withdraw? Do I look like I plan to let you all leave?” Alex asked with cruel eyes and Damon revealed a cruel smile.

With his back visible to Rose and the Gravity spirit, his eyes turned pitch black and cracks began spreading around it. A bright red light shone within his eyes as he peered deep into the eyes of the sin of Gluttony.

“If I wish to leave not even god can stop me. If you think you have what it takes to stop me, then be prepared to die here with me. If not, I suggest you stay put... This battle is your victory. Linchester is yours. We will meet again, then we will settle the scores” Damon said with frosty eyes.
