Chapter 355: (EDT) Rescue (3)
Chapter 355: (EDT) Rescue (3)
"Spread out and handle the Tyrant in a team of three!" Zhang Qin Feng ordered and changed his weapon into a traditional pump-action shotgun. This was a much better weapon to fight against the zombie crowd when they're about to get overwhelmed.
*Bang! Bang!*
Zhang Qin Feng's shotgun blast opened a path forward like a demolisher as he went further. In the meantime, the nine remaining men from his Vanguard-1 team were still occupied with the Tyrants.
There are three Shelter No: 213's residents in his team. As this was their first battle against the Tyrant, there's no doubt that it would be a difficult battle for them.
The reason is naturally that the attacking pattern of a Tyrant is different from the simple-minded zombies. When going against a Tyrant, not only teamwork was essential, but trust towards your fellow teammates.
Without the trust between everyone, it would be no different from having ten animals going against a lion.
Everyone had their own agenda, and there's definitely a situation where one would end up endangering another during the battle.
But after going against the three monsters for a while, they quickly got used to the Tyrant's attacking pattern. Shifting their weapon to the pump-action Shotgun, the soldiers were ten times fiercer than before.
One bullet followed with another as they tore the Tyrants into pieces before they continued chasing after Vanguard-2's footsteps.
Because this was still their first day inland, Zhang Qin Feng decided to let them slowly get used to the battlefield while ensuring he didn't miss any loots from their kills.
"This is Vanguard-2! We've encountered a group of six Tyrants!" the arrival of trouble was quickly reported back to Zhang Qin Feng's Luna Device as more zombies surrounding Zhang Qin Feng's Vanguard-1.
Zhang Qin Feng finds it weird for so many zombies to appear out of nowhere without a hint of warning. It felt like the dead could teleport and arrive beside them in a split second. Not even the Luna Device could keep track of their traveling speed.
"Defend your position and wait for our support." Zhang Qin Feng gave the order to remain where they are to Vanguard-2. As for his team, Zhang Qin Feng could no longer let them take it too casually.
"Power Suit personnel, bring out the minigun," he ordered.
"Yes, Boss!" the soldiers in Vanguard-1 immediately retaliates with the minigun in their hand. Like a firestorm sweeping around their perimeters, the Vanguard-1's clearing speed was ten times faster than before.
"Tyrant! 9 o'clock!" one soldier with a rifle reported. His announcement made two soldiers focus their fire in that direction to aim at the incoming monster.
All it took was a round of hundred or so bullets per second to tear that pitiful monster apart.
"We've cleared the zombies. Move forward and provide support to Vanguard-2." Zhang Qin Feng immediately ordered. If they continue to take their time here, the Vanguard-2 might have a few injuries when he arrived.
And as they arrived at the leading group and provided support, more Tyrants appeared simultaneously. It's like they're under a strict order to obstruct the soldier's path.
"Damn! How can more Tyrant's appear around here? Do these monsters grow here like carrots?" one soldier complained. He finds it challenging to fight against a few Tyrants at a time, especially when the ammunition in their firearm is running low.
"Shit! Reload! Reload!" a few inexperienced soldiers in the team kneeled and reloaded their guns. This inconsistency made the defense on a specific point weaker as the focus fire suddenly shifted.
But luckily, the assistance from V-1 nearby reduces some of the burdens from their shoulder.
"Vanguard-2, shift to heavier weaponry. Abandon your empty guns. Those in power suits may resort to Decimator Launchers. Your firing direction shall be from your Northwest to East direction." Zhang Qin Feng instructed as they closed the gap between the two teams.
"Report! Northside! The targets might be Tyrant-Class zombies!" a soldier noticed the arrival of three sneaky silhouettes.
And in response to his carefulness, it was indeed three additional Tyrants coming from the woods. It seems that the two teams were surrounded by zombies all around them.
"Boss! Behind us! Six Tyrants! I noticed something like projectiles coming in our direction, but they didn't seem like heavy objects." another soldier reported.
"This is 001 Assailant-Class. We've captured the image from our long-range monitoring support. You have over twenty Tyrants coming at you outside of the woods."
"Please take note. We can assist. I repeat, we can assist!" the acting captain for the first ship get in touch with Zhang Qin Feng.
"Fire!" Zhang Qin Feng calmly gives the order to open fire.
Instantly, four turrets from the two Assailant-Class Vessels fired fiercely towards the mainland. The sparks from the bullets coming from the coast are like a fire dragon breathing its flames towards the woods.
Instantly, all the zombies and Tyrants were torn into shreds as their signal vanished from the Luna Sensor. ƒ𝘳ee𝔀e𝚋n૦𝐯el.c𝗼𝓂
The attack continued until Zhang Qin Feng raised his fist to call an end to it.
"Continue forward." Zhang Qin Feng said. With both Vanguard-1 and Vanguard-2 meeting and gathering, there's no point separating them into two teams anymore. The twenty-one men team marched forward to feed the virus carriers with leads until they closed to the fifteen kilometers mark.
The attack continued, but its no longer as fierce as before. To Zhang Qin Feng's surprise, the attack from these virus carriers seems to be too organized, like when he fought against Lamia, the leader of the Satella Clone Tyrants.
But as they were reaching the sixteenth-kilometer checkpoint, something else was waiting for them here. ƒr𝙚𝙚𝘸e𝚋𝐧૦ѵ𝒆𝒍.𝒄𝒐m
It was half a size taller than the regular Tyrant, with a closer to crimson color skin. If the usual Tyrant looked like a bodybuilder on steroids, this breed would look like a troll from Western fantasy novels.
With a height of three and a half meters tall, this monster is on an entirely different league of its own. Its flesh looked more developed, like thick carapaces growing all over its body.
