Chapter 200: Turning the Tables! True Terror!

Chapter 200: Turning the Tables! True Terror!

Amidst the piteous wails, the Stage Six Fallen One died under the massive holy sword!

Tattered flesh exploded, were wrapped in golden holy flames, and reduced to nothing!

Following this Fallen One’s death, the ground covered by the domain also swiftly regained its original appearance. However, there was still a considerable amount of mud remaining. This was the corrosion of filthy forces; it had already caused irreversible effects on the ground.

Link panted heavily. Right now, his abilities had yet to recover completely, so using [Holy Sword of the Light] was rather draining.

Presently, it was deathly still within the entire formation.

—Silence!

Warriors were frozen in their spots, their eyes wide like brass bells as they dazedly stared at the young figure on the battlefield. They were completely speechless!

What did we see earlier?

The Stage Six Fallen One was actually killed?

Most importantly, the one who killed him is a youth who isn’t even a warrior yet! How is this possible?!

The great shock left everyone’s minds blank as if they’d been struck by lightning, their systems almost crashing on the spot.

There were even people who constantly rubbed their eyes, in total disbelief of the situation before their eyes. They thought an illusion had appeared.

Even Regus and the others—who were currently fighting other Fallen Ones in the distance—couldn’t help stopping and directed looks of horror to this side!

That was a Stage Six Fallen One, a nightmare in the common people’s eyes. Yet, it actually... died... just like that?

Everyone’s minds were harshly shaken as if a huge boulder—weighing 1,000 tons—had been dropped into the lakes that were their hearts, lifting raging waves that hit the skies!

The remaining Fallen Ones saw violent changes in countenances, and shock was written all over their faces!

Time seemed to stop. Everyone froze for more than ten seconds before slowly recovering from that great shock.

All the warriors drew in cold breaths, their hearts filled with surprise, shock, disbelief, and more complicated emotions.

Some people even swallowed a mouthful of saliva with effort and said slightly hesitantly, “Dead?”

“That Stage Six Fallen One has actually died?” They probed the people around them, still a little dazed.

“Mm, dead!” Only when affirmative responses came from the people around them did joy gradually bloom on the faces of many people!

“Dead... Finally dead! Great! Wonderful!”

Everyone was exhilarated, and cheers exploded in the psychological network. It was as if even the air had become joyous.

Link’s killing of the Stage Six Fallen One was undoubtedly a morale boost for the masses who’d suffered blows time and time again!

The originally depressing and despairing atmosphere was lifted as a result; everybody’s eyes now contained more hints of brightness!

“Good job! I’ve got to buck up too; how can I fall behind a young man!?” Regus guffawed, and his eyes sparkled. The exhaustion and pain all over his body were swept away as he launched a tempest-like assault on the enemy across him.

Under the intense and fierce attacks, the Fallen One opposing him instantly felt a significant increase in stress and harbored resentment in his heart. Damn it, did Regus get injected with a potion?! Why is he so fierce; I’m finding it difficult to hold on!

Link—who had killed a Fallen One—didn’t stay idle. After resting slightly and recovering for a while, he launched an attack on the remaining Fallen Ones.

With his participation, the originally deadlocked situation changed instantly. The Fallen Ones unavoidably fell into a disadvantage!

In the air, Lanzhi Sage—who was battling the great sage and the high priest—felt the corners of his eyes twitch hard as strong killing intent toward Link burst out in his heart.

Previously, it was this rascal who resolved the conflict between the city guards and civilians and spoiled his plan. Now, he had even killed a Stage Six Fallen One, causing the situation—which was originally in his favor—to change.

How could Lanzhi Sage, Naiden, not be raging with killing intent? “This rascal deserves death!”

Naiden no longer cared about a powerhouse’s pride and whatnot; he simply wanted to crush this nobody who had spoiled his plans repeatedly!

Lanzhi Sage’s cirri swung. A black glow—several feet long—that seemed as if it sought to rip apart the universe shot swiftly in Link’s direction.

The black glow radiated a strong filthy aura, leaving traces of distortion in the air. Moreover, its speed was extremely high as if it were tearing space apart. It instantly appeared near Link with a flicker!

This was the ability of a Sage-stage powerhouse, and only a Sage-stage powerhouse could shake space!

The black glow had locked onto Link; it was almost inescapable. A fatal sense of crisis instantly enveloped him.

Right then, the space before the black glow suddenly ripped like waves. A shield—condensed from mysterious runes—emerged abruptly.

Boom!

Amidst the explosive roar, the black glow and shield collided. Tempestuous air currents swept in all directions, and the frightening afterwinds tore deep gullies in the ground!

But Link—who was protected by the shield—was without a scratch.

The great sage, who had just released the shield, smiled. “Naiden, do you think we don’t exist?”

Lanzhi Sage, Naiden, glared at them with bulging eyes. His aura surged, almost exploding on the spot.

After a roar, he clashed with the great sage and the high priest once again.

In the air, streaks of magic brilliance bloomed. The three powerhouses’ figures interlocked as violent forces shook the air.

The combat ability of the great sage and the high priest—who both no longer had any qualms and worries—improved. Under their joint efforts, even the aberrated Lanzhi Sage, Naiden, found it difficult to resist.

The two battlegrounds—one in the air and one on the ground—both saw overwhelming changes because of Link!

The tables had been turned with one man’s strength!

Before long, the group of Fallen Ones was completely killed or captured. Lanzhi Sage was also taken down by the great sage and the high priest and kept in custody by using a powerful sealing spell.

Existences at the Sage stage were difficult to kill; it was all the more so for the aberrated Lanzhi Sage. They could only seal him first and then slowly obliterate him.

With the subsiding of the battle, many people heaved a sigh of relief. However, the large number of evil beings surrounding the defensive formation made it impossible for them to relax their tense heartstrings.

Lanzhi Sage, Naiden, was kept inside a pillar of light, the energies constantly wearing away his mind and body.

However, Naiden didn’t have much fear; he still revealed a hideous smile after being captured.

“You think you have won? Wrong! Absolutely wrong! The true despair has just begun!” Lanzhi Sage’s voice sounded in the psychological network. Everyone’s mood became a little depressed, falling from the excitement and joy of the victory they’d just attained.

Outside of the defensive formation were concentrated crowds of evil beings. Even if they had killed the Fallen Ones and Lanzhi Sage, they couldn’t change the situation before their eyes.

The city guard warriors and civilians were giving first aid to the injured, taking care of their wounds.

The high priest led several members of his office to continue injecting strength into the defensive formation to reinforce it.

The evil beings outside the defensive formation constantly struck the light curtain, raising waves of ripples.

No matter how they reinforced it, relying on the defense formation alone ultimately couldn’t be a permanent solution.

Link indifferently stared at the monsters dancing like mad outside of the light screen, his gaze dark and gloomy.

All of a sudden, the evil beings—who kept striking outside the defensive formation—halted. The monsters uniformly turned to look to the back.

A rumble sounded.

Appearing behind them were multiple terrifying monsters. The aura they radiated had already reached the Sage stage.
