Chapter 430 - 432: Hope You Know the Consequences
Chapter 430: Chapter 432: Hope You Know the Consequences
“Well, you better watch yourself, because this hunting festival is not like the little fights among children at your academy. If you fall into the hands of those Demon Lords by accident, you might regret ever living in this world,” Yan Xu said with a smile.
After saying this, Yan Xu’s laughter became sharper, as if in his eyes, Zhu Minglang and Luo Shaoyan were nothing more than two little brats.
Luo Shaoyan, dissatisfied, didn’t dare to be as presumptuous in front of Yan Xu as before.
Sitting in an empty seat, Luo Shaoyan sulkily drank his wine and said to Zhu Minglang, “I wanted to introduce you to a few beauties. They are all from noble families. If you could hook up with one, you might be able to struggle less over the years. Too bad they don’t seem to fancy us.”
“It doesn’t matter, I prefer a bit of tranquility,” Zhu Minglang replied.
There were many crystal grapes on the table, Zhu Minglang’s favorite. Leisurely eating grapes while waiting for the hunting festival to begin was quite pleasant. He didn’t need to engage in insincere flattery with those young ladies from powerful families.
As he was enjoying the juicy grapes, a delicate and graceful figure slowly approached. She looked at Zhu Minglang and asked with a smile, “May I sit here?”
Zhu Minglang looked up, his face showing a bit of confusion.
The woman before him had bright eyes and rosy lips, skin white with a blush of red, and whether it was her long, attractive neck or her slender, tender arms, there was not a single flaw to be seen.
Her hair was neatly arranged, with a Spirit Butterfly Hairpin that made her look even more radiant and charming.
Zhu Minglang didn’t recognize the lady, but he noticed that her clear, spring-like eyes were fixed on him, as if he had something distinct about him.
Was it because of his incredible beauty that he so easily attracted the attention of such a special and pretty woman to strike up a conversation?
Zhu Minglang smiled, ready to decline, when Luo Shaoyan suddenly pointed at the young beauty and said in surprise, “Aren’t you, aren’t you the little Maid of the Queen of Xiayu?”
The lady was gentle and lovely, with an extremely bright and beaming smile.
“Isn’t that the Little Queen of Xia Yu, Jing Yu?” someone approached and said excitedly.
Several women quickly gathered around, looking up to her with admiration, and upon hearing the name, many others also turned their gaze in that direction.
The Little Queen of Xia Yu?
Zhu Minglang took a closer look and realized that this lady closely resembled the Maid beside the Celestial Maiden Queen.
Indeed, a woman could seem like a different person with a change of clothes and makeup; Zhu Minglang had failed to recognize her.
This Little Queen seemed to have quite a reputation in Neon Sea, as many people came forward to greet her respectfully. Suddenly, the empty seats were crowded with people.
“Ladies and gentlemen, I am discussing some matters here with an old friend; please excuse us,” the Little Queen Jing Yu of Xia Yu said with intelligent grace.
Others then gradually dispersed, some reluctantly, especially the younger women who showed signs of admiration and were not so willing to leave.
Zhu Minglang was puzzled, wondering when he had become her old friend.
They had only met once before.
“Miss, you’re not after the reward of Four Million Jin, are you?” Zhu Minglang asked.
“I’m just very curious. There’s a man in this world who would run away from a wedding, and not just any wedding, but the royal wedding of Princess Luoshui of Miao Kingdom. Either this man is exceptionally outstanding and extraordinary, or he has lost his mind,” the Little Queen Jing Yu of Xia Yu said with a smile.
“So what’s your conclusion?” Zhu Minglang asked.
“Your mind must be broken, or perhaps I just don’t know you well enough,” said the Little Queen of Xia Yu as she leaned in, her face coming very close to Zhu Minglang’s.
Zhu Minglang could already smell the fragrance emanating from the Little Queen of Xia Yu, as delicate as the scent of orchids.
As these words were spoken, another person approached them.
Yan Xu stood in front of Zhu Minglang and the Little Queen of Xia Yu. His courtesy was merely superficial; the way his eyes fixed on the Little Queen Jing Yu, however, betrayed a certain scorching intensity.
“Why don’t you come and sit at my place, Little Sister Jing Yu?” Yan Xu suggested.
“Don’t you already have a beauty over there?” retorted the Little Queen Jing Yu.
“How can they be considered beauties compared to you?” Yan Xu said directly.
His words, utterly unguarded, caused the color to drain from the face of a woman named Ke Ning.
Ke Ning immediately stood up with her two companions, looking as if she was going to leave in a huff.
One would have expected Yan Xu to offer some soothing words, but there he stood, beside the Little Queen Jing Yu, fawning over her like a smitten puppy, paying no heed to the several well-bred young ladies.
Flushed with anger, Ke Ning eventually had no choice but to storm off.
Yan Xu turned his head to see his seat had been vacated, and immediately gestured invitingly, respectfully asking the Little Queen Jing Yu to take a seat.
However, the Little Queen Jing Yu showed no sign of getting up. She picked a cluster of grapes from Zhu Minglang’s plate, mimicking his actions as she peeled them one by one, then slowly placed them into her mouth and savored them with grace.
Ignoring Yan Xu entirely, the Little Queen Jing Yu couldn’t be bothered to engage in conversation with him, acting as if he didn’t exist.
Yan Xu initially maintained his composure, but gradually, his expression grew darker.
He coldly swept a glance at Zhu Minglang and pointed at him, saying, “You, scoot aside, and give up your spot to me.”
Zhu Minglang, savoring the sweet grapes, remained completely undisturbed.
“Did you hear me or are you deaf? Do you have any idea whose territory this is?” Yan Xu said fiercely.
Zhu Minglang slowly turned his head, the grape flesh was gone, leaving just a large grape seed behind.
“Pfft!”
Zhu Minglang spat out the grape seed with force, propelling it straight towards Yan Xu’s forehead, where it stuck to his face!
Yan Xu, taken aback, had no time to react; a grape seed spat out from someone else’s mouth was stuck to his face. His expression turned from green to red at a visible rate, contorting into something hideous!
“I, Yan Xu, have never been slighted like this, let alone have seeds spat at me. I hope you’re aware of the consequences!” Yan Xu’s face had become terrifyingly menacing.
“Consequences, did you consider the consequences before you casually ordered someone to move without figuring out what you are?” Zhu Minglang said calmly and unhurriedly.
“Guards!” shouted Yan Xu.
Several men dressed in black swiftly appeared on either side of Yan Xu, one of them holding an iron whip—it was none other than Yan He, who had slaughtered all the guards in Yellow Leaf City!
“First, break all his teeth for me, then cut out his tongue. If he’s still not dead, throw him in the prisoners’ cell. I want to be able to hear his screams of agony from this building!” Yan Xu bellowed in rage.
