Chapter 860: Black Jade Hairpin

Chapter 860: Black Jade Hairpin

[Demon Realm]

"Even so, are you not reluctant? That elixir is highly beneficial for you. If you achieve spiritual ascension and further increase your soul power, you’ll gain an even greater advantage. Since you love alchemy, strengthening your soul should be your priority," Bu Si Shu suddenly questioned.

"I already have several legendary elixirs to enhance my soul. Besides, drinking Spiritual Water every day nourishes my soul enough. Why would I need that elixir?" She blinked.

"I underestimated you." Bu Si Shu’s lips twitched. How could he forget that this girl’s small world was filled with heaven-defying treasures?

"What is that?" Suddenly, Bu Si Shu became excited upon spotting some strange-looking snacks being sold at a nearby stall. He rushed over and was greeted enthusiastically by the demons.

Bu Si Shu seemed to get along well when it came to food. But the problem was... freewēbnoveℓ.com

"This guy looks rich, but I didn’t expect him to be a poor ghost! How can you eat and not pay? That won’t do! Pay up, or we’ll send you to jail!" The sellers pointed their fingers at him, some even surrounding him, ready to enforce the rules.

"What kind of food are you selling? It tastes so plain, like I’m eating wild grass. And you still dare to ask for my spirit stones? I have treasures, but does your food even deserve them?" Bu Si Shu frowned contemptuously. Having tasted the snacks and fruits in the Ethereal Small World, other foods seemed flavorless in comparison.

"This won’t do! So you’re refusing to pay? Then don’t blame us for being merciless!" The demons immediately grew furious, rolling up their sleeves and preparing for a fight. They didn’t waste words when unnecessary—fists and claws were much more effective in solving problems.

"Who’s afraid of you? Even if you gathered your ancestors, you still wouldn’t be able to beat me!" Bu Si Shu chuckled, floating leisurely in the air, completely unfazed by the wave of curses and red-eyed glares from the demons.

"How dare you insult our ancestors?! You’re asking for trouble!" the demons roared.

"Calm down, everyone, I’ll pay for him. He has been in seclusion for a long time and is unfamiliar with the ways of the world. Everything must feel new to him." Before the situation could escalate, Shenlian Yingyue stepped in and paid for all the food and snacks Bu Si Shu had consumed.

"So he was in seclusion? Next time, don’t let him cause trouble and disrespect our ancestors like that. Consider this a warning!" The demons finally relented, waving their hands to let them go.

"Understood," she replied, surprised by their reasonableness.

Shenlian Yingyue sighed in relief before turning to face the troublemaker, who was now pretending to be innocent. "I say, Great One, can you not act so recklessly? You’re an ancient entity—you should know that if you take something, you must pay for it according to the rules. Do you want the entire Demon Realm to send their demon soldiers after you?"

"Even if their ancestors come, I’ll defeat them. Why do you need to bow to them?" Bu Si Shu shook his head dismissively, utterly fearless.

Shenlian Yingyue held her forehead in exasperation. "What did I just say? You’re powerful, yes, but that’s you, not me. You’re with me now. If you’re going to cause trouble, can you at least consider the powerless me? The world is full of unknown forces, and I have no intention of offending unnecessary ones."

"And another thing—your power and wealth, I suggest you conceal them. Stop showing off, or you’ll attract haters and robbers." She warned him kindly.

"How troublesome," Bu Si Shu rolled his eyes but, in the end, finally listened and stopped making trouble.

"Bu Si Shu, if you want to stir up trouble, do it far away from us. We have important matters to handle and no time to clean up after your mess. I thought you understood how the world works—why are you acting so recklessly? How old are you?" Bing Xue frowned, his angelic face filled with dissatisfaction.

Bu Si Shu’s lips pressed into a straight line. He refused to answer, as if seriously considering their words.

Shenlian Yingyue sighed. "I know you’re excited to explore the world, but you need to be careful with your words. Not everyone will accept them."

"I only speak the truth!" Bu Si Shu rubbed his forehead.

"Not all truths are pleasant to hear or easy to accept. People tend to favor what aligns with their desires. Therefore, it’s wise to be cautious with our words around strangers. It will save us from unnecessary trouble and delays in our journey," she explained.

Bu Si Shu’s expression darkened slightly, but he remained silent, seemingly reflecting on her words.

Shenlian Yingyue finally smiled. "Here, let me show you something."

She pulled him and Bing Xue along, leading them to try various new foods and snacks in the Demon Realm. She also took them to buy clothes and materials unique to this place.

Occasionally, her contracted partners would appear to accompany her.

As they passed by a stall, she suddenly stopped in her tracks. Her gaze landed on a black jade hairpin. It looked exquisite, but no matter how she examined it, it was merely an ornament.

"You’re interested in this, young lady?" The stall owner, noticing her interest, eagerly introduced it. "This magical hairpin can bring good fortune and help gather more demonic energy. It’s not expensive."

When she saw the black jade hairpin, Xuan, the black bracelet on her wrist, immediately reacted. She realized this jade hairpin had some kind of connection with Xuan.

"How much is this?" she asked, her gaze unwavering.

"Ten sky-grade spirit stones," the stall owner replied, his eyes flickering with greed.

(10 sky-grade spirit stones = 1,000 best-grade spirit stones = 100,000 high-grade spirit stones.)

"So expensive! Do you take us for fools?" Bing Xue’s voice turned icy.

The stall owner shuddered at the coldness in his tone.

Normally, magical weapons with special functions were quite expensive. However, this jade hairpin—no matter how one looked at it—appeared to be nothing more than a decorative accessory. It wasn’t nearly as valuable as the stall owner claimed. Bing Xue couldn’t even sense any spiritual power within it, so how could it be something great?

"At a glance, it looks like a low-quality product," Bu Si Shu added bluntly, his poisonous tongue working once again.

"I can prove it!" The stall owner, trying to maintain his composure, quickly placed the hairpin on his head.

Suddenly, demonic spiritual energy began to gather around him.

This phenomenon attracted the attention of many nearby demons, who eagerly crowded around the stall.

The stall owner, now full of confidence, proudly explained the jade hairpin’s magical function to them. At the same time, he cast a smug glance at Shenlian Yingyue, Bing Xue, and Bu Si Shu, as if boasting about the hairpin’s effectiveness.

Bing Xue and Bu Si Shu, however, merely chuckled at such a low-level trick.
