Chapter 866: Slap Me Again!

Chapter 866: Slap Me Again!

"Alright, let’s end this ridiculous scene. I’m not interested in you, I just want to test something." Shen Xian let go of her and stood up. He withdrew the spell, allowing her to move.

Now able to move, she didn’t hesitate to leap from the bed, putting as much distance between them as possible. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

Her movement was so abrupt that it resembled a frog hopping on the grass, making his lips twitch uncontrollably.

"Tell me, what do you want?" She eyed him warily, her guard up. Under her sleeves, the Vine Terrors were ready to be unleashed, though, in the end, her preparation was pointless.

"Slap me again," he said nonchalantly.

"Huh??" She thought she had misheard.

"Are you deaf? I said slap me again!" Shen Xian glared at her viciously. If she dared to say ’huh’ again, he would punish her immediately.

"Okay." Shenlian Yingyue nodded in a daze. She was puzzled, but since the opportunity was right in front of her, why hesitate?

"PAH!!!!" Without a second thought, she swung her arm and slapped him fiercely across the face.

"BOOM!!!" The secret chamber trembled from the sheer force of her slap, as if a giant had stomped on the ground.

Shen Xian’s face was struck so hard that his head whipped to the side. The force of her slap had nearly twisted his neck.

"Crack, crack." His mask began to fracture. Amidst his shock, his true face was finally revealed.

"You, human! I told you to slap me, not murder me!" Shen Xian wiped the blood from his lips, disbelief in his eyes. A vivid, five-finger imprint was now branded on his cheek.

If he hadn’t stabilized himself in time, if he wasn’t Shen Xian, he had no doubt that this single slap could have shattered the skies and toppled mountains. Even an Immortal would have been sent flying thousands of miles.

She hadn’t just slapped him; she had infused her spiritual power into the strike, maximizing her physical strength.

Shenlian Yingyue, however, hadn’t even noticed his exposed face yet. She was busy staring at her reddened palm, wincing. What in the world was that mask made of? She took a deep breath. She had wanted to avenge her men, companions and Tai Hua Lei, who had all been bullied by this man before. Yet, despite all her power, her slap had only managed to make him bleed. He was still perfectly fine.

"You never specified that you wanted a normal slap," she retorted. "So I used my spiritual power. I thought you wanted to experience the full effect." As she spoke, she finally looked up at him, only to choke on her words. Her jaw nearly hit the floor.

This, this! Is this his real face? She was so shocked that her mouth remained wide open.

"Have you stared enough?" Shen Xian snapped, his gaze dark with irritation. Though his face was full of anger, his mind was in turmoil.

How? How had she cracked his mask? Even his mother emperor had never been able to break it.

This would remain a mystery, until, one day in the distant future, when the truth was revealed, leaving everyone speechless for an entire year.

Still overwhelmed, Shenlian Yingyue fumbled inside her small world and pulled out a pair of black sunglasses, something she had bought in the modern era, before putting them on.

"What is that weird black thing you’re wearing?" Shen Xian’s lips twitched.

"Your beauty is too blinding. My eyes will go blind if I keep looking at you." She took several steps back, increasing the distance between them.

If someone asked her what he looked like, her only response would be: "Come and see for yourself. Words alone aren’t enough to describe it."

Shen Xian: "."

"You broke my mask, so you have to take responsibility," Shen Xian said as he sat back on his bed. His long winter-grey and dark red hair cascaded over the black jade surface.

The sharp contrast between his hair and the dark bed made his appearance even more striking, a mesmerizing mix of danger and beauty.

Who would have thought that the powerful Demon Emperor possessed a face capable of making both men and women feel ashamed to compare?

"I think I understand now why you’ve never shown your real face to anyone," she muttered, averting her gaze. She deliberately avoided looking at him any longer, fearing she might be drawn into his unnatural beauty.

Even someone like her, who never cared about appearances, was finding it difficult to meet his gaze directly. It wasn’t that she was a nymphomaniac, but rather that his charm was like an invisible magic that pulled everyone in so effortlessly.

This face, it could cause chaos across the entire Nine Realms.

Throughout history, people had died for beauty. Kingdoms had fallen. Wars had erupted. This wasn’t an exaggeration, it was the truth.

Too dangerous!

"Don’t change the subject. You’re responsible for breaking my mask," Shen Xian said through gritted teeth, his fingers trailing over the cracked surface. The mask had been intricately carved with symbols that held indescribable meaning.

"And how is that my responsibility?" she argued, pointing at herself. "You asked me to slap you."

"I asked you to slap me, yes, but did I ask you to break my mask?" He gave her a twisted smile, one that looked completely forced.

"You didn’t take it off when you asked me to slap you. That’s not my fault." She shrugged, leaning against a pillar with her arms crossed, shaking her head nonchalantly.

Wearing modern black sunglasses while dressed in traditional Hanfu, she exuded an oddly cool and rebellious aura.

However, to Shen Xian, her casual posture felt more like an open provocation.

"If you want to leave the Demon Realm, you’ll have to take responsibility for me," Shen Xian declared with a chuckle. He examined her from head to toe, his gaze thoughtful.

This woman, she didn’t look like the chosen one his mother had spoken of. Would she really be able to help him overcome his life’s greatest calamity?

His mother emperor had once prophesied: "Whoever breaks this mask will be the one to aid you in crossing your disaster. No matter what happens, you must keep them by your side, whether you like it or not."

"It should have been A’Lei who broke my mask, but you ruined it. Either you stay here with me, or you let me go wherever you go," he complained as if she had just stolen the national leader’s underwear and sold it at a discount.

Now, he had no choice. He had to follow her, or make her stay with him. His expression darkened as he scowled.

Shenlian Yingyue: "."

She took a deep breath before giving him a polite smile, "Just in case you’ve forgotten, let me remind you of something," she said, her tone slow and deliberate, "I am a human. You are the Demon Emperor. I have to return to the Human Realm, and you must stay in the Demon Realm."

She hoped this would knock some sense into him. It was impossible for her to let him follow her. It was even more impossible for her to stay in the Demon Realm just to "take responsibility" for him.

This man must have an ulterior motive. She had no intention of carrying around a ticking time bomb.

"You think your objections matter?" Shen Xian sneered. "Wait until you become stronger, then maybe your decisions will hold weight."

Her words caught in her throat. She, couldn’t stop him.
