Chapter 863 - Finale: Yun Zhen x Su Jingyi (3)
Su Jingyi let out a deep breath as she stepped out of the dressing room, wearing a white, strapless, tulle ball gown with a lace bodice that only accentuated her feminine figure. 𝑓𝒓𝚎e𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯𝘰𝐯𝒆𝑙.c𝚘m
"What do you think, Mom?" she asked as she checked her reflection in the mirror. Today was her wedding day and she hadn't gotten a good night's sleep out of excitement for today's events.
"Oh, dear," she heard her mother sniffing, trying to hold back her tears. "You look so pretty! Soon you are going to be a wife and have your own kids, and…" Her mother wailed, grabbing a tissue from the box near her. "Oh no, I've ruined my makeup."
Su Jingyi sighed and hugged her mother.
"Mom, you have to stop crying because you're going to make me cry too."
"Sorry, dear," her mother apologized, dabbing her tears with? tissue. "I just couldn't believe my baby is finally getting married."
She and her husband had been worried about their daughter, but seeing how Yun Zhen treated? Su Jingyi for the past months, dispelled all of it. Now, they could only hope that the two would try their best to make their marriage work out.
Su Jingli and their father entered the room together, both impressed by how the bride looked today.
"Sis, you're f.u.c.k.i.n.g gorgeous. I bet Brother Zhen wouldn't be able to take his eyes away from you once he sees you." Su Jingli grinned at his sister, his hands holding a camera to capture the photos for this special event. "Mom, wipe your snot and stand next to our beautiful bride. I'll take a picture of the two of you."
"Who are you calling snotty? Just wait and see who'll cry later once we're at home." Their mother shot him a glare but did what she was told. She then placed the veil on her daughter's head gently.
"Don't be silly, Jingli," Su Jingyi said and patted her mother's hand affectionately and smiled at the camera as her little brother started taking pictures.
Once they were done, Su Jingli checked the photos and grinned proudly.
"I'm such a genius. Just look how perfect these pictures are," he complimented himself, earning a laugh from their parents.

Meanwhile, Yun Zhen nervously tightened his tie in front of the mirror after drinking another flute of champagne to calm his nerves. He hadn't felt this kind of nervousness for a long time— not even when he was dealing with his business partners or facing a challenge at work.
His younger brother Yun Ling smirked and leaned against the wall with his arms crossed.
"Sister Jingyi will kill you if you end up being drunk on your wedding day," he commented.
"I have higher alcohol tolerance than you," Yun Zhen muttered, playing with the white gold cufflinks in his wrist. This had been a wedding gift he received from his in-laws a few days ago.
"Don't tell me you are having second thoughts? You cannot find a woman like her if you miss marrying her today. I bet many men would fall in line to substitute you if you dare to run away before the ceremony starts," Yun Ling teased him much to Yun Zhen's annoyance.
"That's not funny," he growled at the younger Yun.
"Only ten minutes left, Brother, then you'll have to kiss goodbye to your single life, partying late at night and visiting clubs."
Yun Zhen arched his brow. "Then it's a shame I never did any of that."
He and Su Jingyi have been too busy at work for the past years that they barely had time to relax and hang out with their peers.
"Heh. You are no fun at all, Brother," Yun Ling snorted, taking a flute of champagne himself and drank it in one go.
Yun Zhen wanted to say something but the knock on the door interrupted him from doing so.
"President Yun, it's time," said the person behind the door.
"It's time," he repeated and went to the door with Yun Ling walking behind him.
Yun Ling was telling him something but Yun Zhen had already tuned him out as all his mind was on his bride. He could care less about what his brother was trying to say this time as Yun Ling always tried to find entertainment in the situation he was in to cure his boredom.
He wondered how Su Jingyi was faring this time. Was she also feeling nervous like he was? Why the hell did his palms feel so sweaty anyway?
"President Yun, this way please," the wedding coordinator greeted him, opened the door and waited for the groom to enter.
"I can't believe you are getting married," Yun Ling clapped his brother on his back. "You better make sure you won't fail Sister Jingyi this time. It's not a simple business transaction that you could end easily."
"You don't need to worry about me and Su Jingyi. You better look after yourself," the elder Yun brother said in return. He had almost missed his chance to be with Su Jingyi because of his ignorance but not this time.
She resigned from work, intending to marry another man because she had enough of waiting for him. How stupid of him to ignore her feelings for the past years. Because he'd blinded himself in believing the empty promise of the young empress, he almost missed his chance to be with Su Jingyi.
In the hall filled with guests, he spotted Tang Moyu and Feng Tianyi who raised their glasses to greet him. Since Tang Moyu was one of his business partners before, she was also invited to the wedding with Su Jingyi's permission.
Yun Zhen was thankful that his bride was very understanding and didn't make an issue out of it. If it was another woman, she would surely not allow the empress to attend their special day.
As he and his brother took their positions, the music started playing, getting everyone's attention to stand up. The door at the other side of the room opened with Su Jingyi appearing in her wedding dress with her father assisting her on the aisle as they walked towards the Yun brothers.
Yun Zhen's face broke into a smile as he saw his bride. She looked breathtakingly beautiful he almost forgot where they were at that moment. Along with him, the guests had all hushed and looked at the beautiful bride who managed to win Yun Zhen's heart.
As he waited for Su Jingyi to reach him, Yun Zhen then thought that all the troubles he went through in the past year just to be with her was all worth it.
