Chapter 654: What is the truth? - Part 2
"Boss, I have something....." Ronnie stopped speaking when he noticed his Boss' dark and terrifying face. He understood at once that this was not the time to provoke him when the man looked like he would kill anyone who stood in his way.
Ronnie stepped aside, trying to appear as invisible as possible. He did not have a death wish. He already had a tango with death the previous night, he did not wish to greet it again.
'I'm yet to find a girlfriend. How can I die like that?' He thought and shook his head.
From where he was, he observed his Boss and wondered what had made him lose his cool.
Meanwhile, not at all oblivious to Ronnie's presence, Noah continued to stride towards his car and closed the door after him with a bang. Cursing loudly, he started the engine and pressed the accelerator and the car took off with a screech, startling all the people in the mansion. It was unbelievable loud that even Aria and Ivy who were farther away in the room too heard it.
'What is that?" Aria looked out of the window in wonder. But from where she was, she could not see anything.
Unlike her, however, Oliver had an inkling as to what had happened and he rolled his eyes in dismay. Noah. It had to be him. He was the only one in the mansion who was behaving like a madman.
"Dad, was all that you said true?" Even though she believed her father, Aria could not remove the old Carter's smiling face from her mind. He looked kind and cheerful and never the one to involve in such matters. "What if you are mistaken?"
"I'm not mistaken, Aria. Trust me." Oliver too understood her predicament. If not for the complexity and severity of the situation, he too would never have revealed the truth this quickly, without making adequate preparations.
Oliver did not mind Noah not believing him, he did not even mind his punches. But kicking Aria albeit by mistake had made him see red and he was now irate. All his patience was now dead and he wanted his daughter far away from the man who could not control his temper at critical times.
"I saw Jonathan Carter attending the meeting with my own eyes and if you give me some time, I can produce the evidence I have collected against him."
This got Aria thinking and she pursed her lips. Even Ivy had nothing to say. Jonathan Carter's involvement with Jared and Charles was utterly unexpected and shocking and they were still in disbelief.
"What are we going to do next, Dad?" Ivy queried after a long time and Oliver looked at her silently before he turned to Aria. f𝔯𝒆𝑒we𝚋𝓃૦ν𝙚Ɩ. c૦m
"I'm going to bring back all the evidence I have collected and throw it on Noah's face. Let him see too how big of a monster his grandfather is."
"Dad..." All of a sudden, Aria started to have a premonition.
"But before that, we are leaving this place today. Pack your bags. We are done freeloading here." Oliver stated resolutely and Aria's heart dropped when she saw his incensed eyes. Noah had stepped on his bottom line by kicking her and had jeopardized his relationship with her.
Seeing how infuriated her father was, Aria was sure that he would never bless them and their relationship was at stake.
"But Dad...." She drawled, not knowing what to say. "It was all...."
"Don't label his actions as his mistake." Oliver stopped her before she could voice out her thoughts. "It is unacceptable that he kicked you and I'm beyond mad. If you side with him on this, I will be all the more furious." Oliver's tone turned dangerously low in anger and Aria shut up right away.
It was not the time to irk her father. He was already at the edge and she would only be losing more if she spoke anymore.
"I understand, Dad. I'll do as you say." She replied meekly and pulled the duvet to her neck, trying to appear as harmless as possible. Oliver's heart softened and he patted her head.
"Good girl. By the way, how do you feel? Are you in pain?" His expression morphed into one filled with worry and he lowered his eyes to stare at her stomach.
"I'm fine, Dad. Ian has already treated me and no, I'm not in any pain." Aria assured him with a smile and that was the truth. Ian's ointment had worked like a charm and other than a slight sting, she did not feel any other pain.
"That's good to hear. Rest well. By then, I'll pack my bags." Oliver patted her head again and departed from the room, leaving the sisters to themselves.
Aria waited until the door was closed completely before turning to her sister for help. "What are we going to do now, Ivy? Dad seems to be vexed and I do not think he will allow me to be with Noah."
Ivy let out a sigh, not at all liking how things had turned out all of a sudden. She too was in a dilemma and did not know how to tackle the situation.
A knock at the door caught their attention and Joshua's head peeked in. "May we come in?" He chirped, trying to appear as calm as possible even if he was not from within.
"Looks like Dad is annoyed." He uttered and took his seat beside Ivy while Ian sat on the other side.
"Yes, he is and he has asked Aria to pack her bags. We will be leaving from here today."
"Should I talk to him?" Ian required from the side and Ivy shook her head right away.
"Please don't. Dad is already aggravated. He will not listen to anyone. Instead, you will only be incurring his wrath on yourself."
"We need to wait some time for the matter to settle." Aria expressed after thinking for a long time. "And until Noah apologizes and assures Dad, I do not think his anger will be appeased. It now lies upon Noah to convince Dad." Aria let out a defeated sigh. "His actions will decide the future of our relationship."
