Chapter 1408: Extra Chapters 3-4 Sister

Mo Yan touched her numb cheek, dazed as she watched the Nine Heavens Divine Lightning recede into the distance, feeling as if she was dreaming: Was this how the thunder tribulation simply passed by?

As if confirming her speculation, a strange phenomenon suddenly emerged from the nearby grass, shooting dazzling golden rays into the sky. These beams of light pierced through the clouds and instantly lit up the pitch-black night, forcing Mo Yan and the Six Beasts to involuntarily shut their eyes tight, seeing only a blinding expanse of gold, too intense for them to dare open their eyes.

"Xuetuanzi..." Mo Yan called out anxiously with her eyes still closed. Aside from Xuetuanzi, who was undergoing the tribulation, she couldn’t think of anyone else in this cleared area that would cause such an abnormality.

Before the tribulation, Xuetuanzi hadn’t specified what kind of mystical phenomenon would occur during its transformation. The occurrence of this anomaly made her heart flip, even more worried and nervous than when Xuetuanzi faced the Divine Lightning.

Yet, Mo Yan couldn’t afford to open her eyes to see for herself, and after a lengthy silence with no response, she called out to Xuetuanzi in her mind again, still receiving no sign in return.

Unable to do anything else, nor convince herself to just wait idly, she used the direction from which the golden light had originated to slowly grope her way closer.

Although the golden light had appeared quite abruptly, aside from being blinding, it was not causing any other issues.

How could the Six Beasts sit idly by and let Mo Yan venture into danger alone? They followed her closely, encircling her just as before, ready to protect her from any danger that might arise.

After groping their way forward for about thirty feet without encountering any resistance, the group could only feel the golden light getting even more intense, compelling them to keep their eyes even more firmly shut.

They were less than fifteen feet from the center of the light source when Mo Yan was about to quicken her pace to approach it, she encountered an invisible barrier that prevented her from advancing any further.

Seeing this, Mo Yan actually breathed a sigh of relief. If Xuetuanzi truly was in danger, this barrier-like protection wouldn’t exist. It was more likely that it had successfully passed the tribulation and was now in the process of transforming.

Mo Yan’s guess was correct. After half an incense stick’s worth of time, the blinding golden light began to fade. When Mo Yan tried to open her eyes, she saw at the center of the light a completely naked little flesh bundle lying motionless.

That little figure was unmistakably a newborn baby!

Without needing to look closely, Mo Yan was certain that the little flesh bundle was Xuetuanzi after its transformation. Using the lingering golden light, she quickly ran to the small bundle, forgetting about the barrier that had previously blocked her path.

Fortunately, the invisible barrier disappeared at the moment of Xuetuanzi’s successful transformation, allowing Mo Yan to reach it and scoop up the slippery little one into her arms.

"Xuetuanzi, Xuetuanzi, are you alright?"

Looking at Xuetuanzi with its eyes tightly shut, Mo Yan asked with concern, her voice very soft, fearing that she might startle the little creature in her arms, whom she now treated as a real newborn child.

Hearing Mo Yan’s call, Xuetuanzi’s eyelids fluttered and it managed to open its eyes with effort, giving Mo Yan a gentle shake of its head. Before Mo Yan could speak again, it closed its eyes, clearly so exhausted from the ordeal that even keeping its eyes open was too much.

In truth, if Xuetuanzi had undergone this transformation in the Cultivation World, even if it had been battered by heavenly lightning, it wouldn’t be in such a frail state. Unfortunately, it was the Mortal Realm where the sparse Spiritual Energy couldn’t allow it to recover its strength quickly.

Mo Yan was unaware of this fact, assuming that Xuetuanzi was weakened due to completely draining its Spiritual Power. Concerned that Xuetuanzi might be cold, she took out a set of tiny clothes she had prepared earlier from her Space, dressed Xuetuanzi with practiced ease, then sat with Xuetuanzi in her arms, riding the Golden Beast down the mountain along the path they came.

...

Bringing back a child so suddenly, there had to be an explanation for outsiders. Mo Yan had already thought of a story to tell—she would simply say the child was a foundling picked up by Mao Tuan from outside, pitifully abandoned. Wishing for a daughter, she decided to adopt and raise the child as her own.

Indeed, Xuetuanzi did not get its wish to become a towering man and flirt with girls—it had transformed into a little girl!

When Xiao Ruiyuan learned that he had somehow gained a daughter, he had no objections. Whatever Mo Yan liked, he liked too. Especially after seeing the newly arrived girl, and how surprisingly the little one’s facial features resembled those of his wife, he grew even fonder of her, feeling as if God had specially granted him this father-daughter bond.

Xiao Wan, who had always yearned for a sister, was of course overjoyed. She immediately "abandoned" her few months old baby brother, snatching up her only sister to her own room to care for, determined to raise her plump and attached to her side as her sister.

As a result, Xiao Wan no longer had the time to bother her younger brothers, which gave Xiao Jue and Xiao Yue a huge sense of relief, feeling grateful for their new sister. As time passed, they built a deep sibling bond.

The only one not happy was Xuetuanzi, unable to become a great man or charm the ladies. But for a long while, it was just a milk-drinking baby, forcing itself not to speak. Apart from Mo Yan, who could understand its true feelings?
