Chapter 588 - : 587 You can’t fool me
Chapter 588: 587 You can’t fool me
Gu Kai pressed his lips tightly, suppressing the tumultuous emotions in his heart and spoke again in the calm and gentle tone he uses in his daily life. “We don’t know yet. Ranran’s situation is unexpected for all of us. My parents have developed a few treatment plans, so Ranran needs to stay there for a while.”
Needs to stay for a while?
Bai Xiaoxiao took some time to digest Gu Kai’s words and then asked, “Can you tell me Ranran’s address over there?”
Gu Kai looked at Bai Xiaoxiao in surprise, “What do you need the address for? Your leg has just healed, it won’t be suitable for you to travel a long distance to visit her right now.”
Bai Xiaoxiao was about to say something when Gu Kai’s mobile phone rang. He pulled out his phone and saw no numbers or names on the blank screen. His heartbeat inexplicably skipped a beat and he shot out of his chair, standing tall.
The first thought that flashed through his mind was the previous call Fu Jingyi had made to his father and sister, also with no caller ID.
Seeing the spectrum of emotions displayed on his face in just a moment, Bai Xiaoxiao was taken aback. Seeing him staring at his phone screen without answering, she didn’t dare to say anything and just watched him intently.
The phone rang several times before Gu Kai pressed the answer button and exclaimed with a somewhat heavy voice, “Hello!”
The coldness in his voice made Bai Xiaoxiao’s heart tighten. She didn’t know why, but from his expression and tone, she got the sense that the person making the call was not friendly.
“Gu–Kai!”
The voice on the other end of the phone lingered and sent chills down the spine, as if it was coming straight out of hell.
Gu Kai’s expression changed dramatically and his face, which was already unpleasant, now got covered with frost. His questioning words carried an undeniable certainty and a bloodthirsty coldness, “You must be Fu Jingyi.”
Even though he had never heard his voice or seen him, Gu Kai was very certain that the person on the other side had to be Fu Jingyi.
Only that psychopath would speak with such a sinister tone and a thick trace of mockery.
He knew he would call again. Since he called Ranran last time, he knew the next call would be to him or Mo Xiuchen.
As expected, he did call!
Every hair on his body stood up and the knuckles of his hand gripping the phone turned white.
In front of the office desk, when Bai Xiaoxiao heard him say ‘Fu Jingyi’, her eyes widened in shock and she stared at him in disbelief.
Fu Jingyi made the call? Upon absorbing this news, the shock in her eyes swiftly turned into anger, her feelings clearly visible on her delicate face.
“Haha…”
What answered Gu Kai was a string of frenzied laughter, mocking their helplessness, “Gu Kai, aren’t you a medical genius? How about it, have you found a way to save your sister?”
“Fu Jingyi, where are you now? I need to see you.”
Without responding to his words, Gu Kai revealed his demand. He wanted to see him. If he harbored any hatred, it should be targeted at him. He would not allow Fu Jingyi, the psycho, to harm his sister.
Ranran was just a fragile girl, and her childhood was already destroyed by this psycho. He could not let him ruin her life, her love, and happiness so callously.
“You want to see me, Gu Kai? You do have more courage than your old man. You want to know how to save your sister, right?”
Fu Jingyi seemed to appreciate his courage, but his sinister tone didn’t lessen at all, and a hint of laughter even permeated it. He had investigated Gu Kai, knew that he was a medical prodigy, and really regretted it.
If it had been him who married Yu Han all those years ago and Gu Kai was his son, he would have cultivated him to be even better and more successful than he is now.
“Ranran is innocent, Fu Jingyi. Even if I must pay for my father’s sins, it should be me you hate.”
Gu Kai said, gritting his teeth.
“Alright then, I’ll tell you how to save the little girl. I quite liked her back in the day.”
Fu Jingyi really was a psycho. His mood was unpredictable. Gu Kai didn’t say anything, unsure if he was really going to tell him, but his intuition told him that Fu Jingyi wouldn’t be benevolent.
“The method is simple, find a man for her. As long as she stays in a sexual relationship with a man for a certain time, all the toxins in her body can be excreted. If you don’t want to harm one man, then find many men for her. This way, the other party can be spared, haha…”
“Fu Jingyi, you sick bastard.”
Gu Kai turned pale with anger, his body slightly trembling.
What he said was what he had guessed early on. The reason Ranran wanted to divorce Mo Xiuchen was because if she stayed with him for too long, she would pass the toxins in her body to him.
“I heard that your father has taken the little girl to D country. Knowing her as I do, she must have stopped Mo Xiuchen from touching her since she received my last call. Gu Kai, let me tell you one more thing. The toxin has a peculiar attribute. If Ranran doesn’t let Mo Xiuchen touch her, the poison in her body will rapidly spread to all her organs…”
Gu Kai wanted to kill Fu Jingyi.
“You’re just experimenting, don’t be so sure of yourself. I tell you, even if you don’t tell me, I can cure Ranran.”
Gu Kai was so angry that he became calm.
What Fu Jingyi said was exactly Ranran’s current condition.
“Impossible, I didn’t only experiment on Wen Ran. Later, I found another test subject. You can’t fool me.”
Fu Jingyi was confident and complacent. He was so certain for a reason.
Gu Kai sneered, showing undisguised contempt, “Fu Jingyi, you think you’re so great and that all your experiments will succeed? If that were the case, you wouldn’t have lost to my father back then. I’m telling you, it won’t be long before Ranran will fully recover. Not only can we completely eliminate the poison you so proudly planted in her body, but she and Mo Xiuchen will also have a pair of adorable children. And you, the psycho, you will always be a loser.”
Since that psycho wasn’t going to tell him how to eliminate the poison from Ranran’s body, Gu Kai didn’t need to belittle himself. He spoke leisurely, exchanging his grinding teeth from earlier with contempt and disdain.
Fu Jingyi certainly couldn’t stand his contempt and mockery and immediately snapped, “Gu Kai, don’t talk nonsense. I’m not a loser. You’re mother was blind to be with your father. I won’t let them be happy, nor will I let you siblings be happy. Wen Ran can only be my test subject.”
After he finished yelling, he hung up the phone.
