Chapter 7: Chapter 7: Drama at the Selection! Dumb Young Master!

"Now, we shall proceed to the true selection process with the Fate Revealing Orb test," announced the elder, eliciting a collective deep breath from the crowd, while those who did not know about what kind of orb the elder was talking about could only wait for an explanation.

"This will gauge your eligibility for entry into the sect. The orb exhibits a spectrum of colors, ranging from red to violet. Red signifies the lowest talent potential, while violet represents the pinnacle. Failure to invoke any change in the orb's color will mean that you do not have any talent for cultivation"

As the elder elucidated the orb's purpose, on one hand, everyone was listening to the elder as they held their breaths, while on the other, Long Tian stood there with his eyes closed while he relaxed his mind.

None among the candidates wanted to miss out on any information, something that was impossible given the fact that the elder was using his qi to carry his voice throughout the room.

"Then there is the Element Affinity Orb which will display four colors. It will tell us your talent's affinity through four colors."

"Fire affinity appears as Red.

Water affinity as Blue.

Wind affinity as Pale Green.

And last but not the least, Earth affinity which is shown with a yellow color."

"Aside from them, there are two rare affinities too. Which will be displayed only in very talented individuals."

"The two affinities are Yin, shown in black and Yang, shown in white.

Remember the lesser the amount of affinities you have the faster your cultivation is. " fre(e)novelkiss

Long Tian, who was already familiar with these orbs was now getting bored at these lengthy explanations until a shift in the elder's tone snapped his attention back.

"Now, let's allow Lin Feng, son of our esteemed sect master, to demonstrate how to use these orbs."

As soon as the elder uttered those words, Long Tian's eyes snapped open as he turned his attention to observe their transparent attempt to showcase their young master's prowess.

Nonetheless, Long Tian was merely curious if this young master even amounted to a fraction of the arrogance he displayed.

With the announcement, Lin Feng made his way towards the orb, muttering discontentedly under his breath.

Under the watchful gazes of everyone present in the hall, he placed his hands on the orb's surface before infusing it with his inner energy.

The orb shimmered as it absorbed the qi, channeling it for analysis. The orb's color changed constantly starting from Red before finally settling on a shade of yellowish green.

Numerous gasps echoed through the arena, a chorus of astonishment rippling through the crowd.

The chosen color held significant meaning, prompting a collective hushed anticipation for the forthcoming explanation.

"Undoubtedly, the Young Master lives up to our expectations. His remarkable talent is why he's hailed as a contender for the future sect master role"

"Tch, as expected of people with a powerful background!"

The crowd started to murmur at the display of his talent while words of admiration and envy filled the air. Many were envious of his talent and also his background.

As the praise reached Lin Fang's ears, his arrogance soared through the roof, a grin spreading across his face.

Even the clan heads were praising his talent.

The head of the Long family smiled in satisfaction, as he reaffirmed his decision to support Lin Feng's rise.

Likewise, the head of the Xiao clan also laughed, sharing in the sense of accomplishment.

The collective enjoyment of applause and the crowd's astonishment forged an unspoken bond between the two clans, a camaraderie of success in nurturing promising talents.

Basking in glory, Lin Feng approached the second orb, the Element Revelation Orb.

Just like the previous one, as soon as he placed his hand on the orb, its color started to change.

This energy released by him pulsed within the orb before it was divided into three distinct colors, each embracing its own shade red, yellow, and white.

Upon seeing the sight of the appearance of three colors, the participants sighed at first before they saw the white color appear and erupted into a unified excitement, praising and cheering about Lin Feng's elemental talent.

Meanwhile, the elders maintained an air of composure while their expressions remained unchanged. It was as if they had anticipated this exact outcome. Their attention shifted, and in unison, the two directed their gaze towards the assembled crowd.

In a voice just low enough to be carried throughout the expanse of the hall, the elders addressed the expectant throng.

"Now that you have witnessed the process of unveiling your talents using the orbs, it's time. According to your assigned numbers, approach the stage one by one and ascertain your potential." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝒆𝙬𝒆𝒃𝓷𝙤𝙫𝒆𝓵.𝒄𝙤𝒎

Their words resonated with a sense of purpose, inviting the candidates to step forth and grasp their destiny through these shimmering orbs.

The procession began with the stepping ahead of the candidates from the three great clans, and the first one to step onto the stage was Wang Ye, the heir of the prestigious Wang family.

As his hand met the Fate Revealing Orb, a soft, radiant orange glow enveloped his hand, eliciting a sigh of relief.

Wang Ye's expression carried a hint of arrogance as he glanced at the crowd below.

A moment later, his gaze shifted towards the Element Revelation Orb, in which he infused his qi, causing the hues of red, blue, and green to materialize.

Satisfaction curved his lips as he surveyed the audience for their reaction, feeding his arrogance after seeing their reaction.

The crowd's mixture of intrigue and respect affirmed the magnitude of his potential.

With a nod from the elders of the sect, Wang Ye stepped back, returning to the ranks of his peers while the selection continued.

After Wang Ye, it was Xiao Mei who walked up on the stage, drawing the attention of everyone present there.

Meanwhile, Long Tian also looked at the stage with curiosity. Although he hated the girl, something seemed to be telling him that an amusing twist was about to unfold.

Sensing Long Tian's gaze, Xiao Mei felt a surge of satisfaction believing that she had finally gained his attention. With a hidden look(not really) of contempt in her eyes, she smirked in response and made her way towards the first orb.

'Let me show you the difference between us, you trash!'

Upon her touch, a brilliant interplay of orange and yellow radiance burst forth, showcasing her remarkable talent, eliciting a gasp of awe from the crowd.

With a Sway of her hips, she then turned her attention to the Element Revelation Orb.

The effortless manifestation of fire and wind attributes within the orb's spectrum left no room for doubt, earning approval from the clan head of the Xiao family, as he laughed out loud in satisfaction.

The smirk on Xiao Mei's lips held a deeper satisfaction as she concluded her test for talent, leaving an indelible mark of promise upon the minds of all those who had witnessed her.

Receiving such awe, her face rose even higher as she puffed out her non-existent chest.

She was satisfied with the reaction and just when she had turned to walk down the stage, Long Tian's intuition came to fruition as a voice called out for her from behind, forcing her to suddenly halt her steps.

"You must be Xiao Mei, the one who is destined to be my future fiancée."

Lin Feng declared, his words laced with satisfaction and arrogance while a confident smirk played on his face as he looked at his future wife thinking that she would fall into his arms and would be ready to suck every inc- {Ahem, I mean} kiss his feet.

Had Xiao Mei heard those words by any chance, don't know about sucking every..., she might have surely kicked him hard in his NO TOUCH area.

His audacious words echoed through the hall, casting a dead silent atmosphere in the entire area. But despite the deafening silence, Lin Feng continued, completely not realizing that he had just said something wrong.

Nonetheless, the next few words he declared nearly caused Xiao Cheng to cough up blood.

"You possess remarkable talent, just enough to fulfill the requirement to be one of my future wives."
