Chapter 113: Start of the plan
When he walked down, many of the servants bowed their heads, welcoming their king.
His eyes scanned through the surroundings, watching everyone who arrived here. With the wicked smile on his face that made me want to punch him, his eyes landed on us.
His grin turned even wider.
For some reason, I also began to grin at him.
This bastard. I never thought he was going to do something like this.
It was clear that I destroyed his core when I met him 5 years ago, but now, his core has returned. Not returned exactly, but replaced by some other one.
And he has gained back his strength once again. Not just reaching the Saint realm, but...
He has become an Elder now. A high-tier Elder rank mage.
So this was why he was so arrogant enough to send such a letter to mother and Ayesha.
Even if they told the Elf Queen about him, she wouldn’t be able to defeat him now. Not just, no one on this planet can defeat him now.
But more than all that, this bastard reeks of this foul scent.
He is completely bathed in demonic mana, so much so that I don’t even need to use my mana perception to tell his mana nature now.
Even those who stand before him can tell that there was something wrong with him, but they didn’t know what, nor did they have the will to ask it. The person before them isn’t just the king of the kingdom but also a Saint realm mage for them.
"There is something wrong with him." Mother commented after not being able to hold her gut feeling.
It was an expected reaction, cause the scent around him right now is enough to make people feel nauseating.
But before I could say anything, another voice appeared from our side.
"You are correct, hero. There is really something fishy about this king."
I turned my head to look at the person who was the owner of the voice, even though I knew who it was.
He was none other than my best buddy.
"Grand elder..." Mother spoke, seeing the grand elder of the dragons.
She then continued further,
"What is this fishy thing you talk about?" Mother asked.
He walked a bit further and stopped, standing just beside me. There was also his daughter present there, but for some reason, she seemed nervous to face me. She was trying hard not to look in my direction.
She didn’t say anything about that night, right?
"We have had suspicion about him from before. We feel that he has betrayed our planet and joined forces with other races, but sadly enough we do not have any proof about him." He explained, seemingly disappointed.
Well, it’s good that they at least had suspicion of him. Otherwise, this council they have would have been completely useless. Still...
"Why do you guys not have proof? Even if he is trying to hide it, can you guys not take him away and ask him directly? I am sure he wouldn’t be able to handle 2 Saint Rank people at the same time." I asked him, also giving him a suggestion.
Even though I know that action is not possible. I can sense it even now, there are many people in the shadows watching over him. Those vampires must value this bastard so much.
I just wish to know if he knows about those people.
But instead of answering me, he patted my shoulder with a smile on his face and said,
"Good, good. You have raised a capable young man, dear hero. I saw what you did just now. Great job protecting your mother from those people. I can feel how annoying it becomes."
Huh? Hearing such words of praise from him makes me sick to the bone.
He then turned to mother and said,
"I know this is late, but still, I would like to congratulate you both on your new life. I never thought you two would end up like this, but I am happy for you two."
Heh? Eh?!
He too?!
All 3 of us had the same expression on our faces. He was having a very deep misunderstanding right here.
But it is hard to blame him. Ayesha introduced herself as my mother to him before, and now I said Eleanor is my mother too. How will a man have two mothers? Unless they are in a relationship.
All 3 of us glanced at each other. For some reason, we felt as if we could read each other’s minds.
Should we tell him?
But then decided, nah... let him think whatever.
So none of us spoke anything.
He then continued again, his face turned a bit grave,
"It is not that we don’t want to try it. Due to the suspicion we even had a few of our best spies to watch over him, but... all of them were found dead, sucked dried by an unknown force."
They were sucked dry of their blood and essence. A typical thing that those vampires do.
But it is what they need to survive. So he used this method to get to the Elder rank, huh?
This is a dangerous procedure; he might never be able to use a mana core again now and will forever be stuck on the Elder realm.
If he loses his core again, he will remain a mortal forever.
"So you weren’t able to gather any proof." free𝑤ebnovel.com
"Yeah, I even consulted with The Elf Queen that I wish to watch over him, but..."
"But you knew that the people behind him are more powerful than what you are capable of. You would have died for sure."
"Yes. It’s strange that a boy like you can figure out that much. You should learn something from him rather than going out at night yourself." He said, looking at the little girl who was trying to hide beside her father.
For a second, our eyes met, but she quickly hid herself.
’Learn something from him? I will never learn something from a pervert like him.’
I had no idea what was going through that little head of hers.
"Thank you for the praise, Grand Elder." I politely said to him.
For some reason, I did not want to reject him.
As we were talking among ourselves, the cunt was saying more things.
"I am glad to announce that my son Elrick Fiderstone has awakened a legendary core..."
Just the usual stuff of him praising his son. After he was done with his words, the ass kickers went ahead, throwing their congratulations to the red haired boy.
It’s laughable that there is someone who got Mythical core right here, and they are fawning over a mere legendary core.
But even even he was greeting the guests, I could feel his lustful gaze lingering on mother and Ayesha.
I was growing more and more impatient now. I know there are too many people here, so I have to lure him out and also distract them all so none of them can distract me.
And I have a perfect plan for that.
All of the races, whether they be demons or spirits, know the past me, even people from here know me as the demon king, so if he were to arrive here right now, all of them will definitely be focused on that.
Though I wonder if I can actually distract the Legendary rank spirit that is here.
I didn’t think it would be possible, but it seems I was wrong.
The person who contracted the spirit is none other than this little dragon girl, Vaelora.
The aura of the spirit on her, protecting her all the time, is clearly visible to me.
She must have sensed who I am too, but since she is still silent, then there must be a reason for that.
When I looked at Vaelora, who was hiding from me, the spirit noticed me looking at her.
She wasn’t here in her physical form, but she can come here anytime she wishes, and I can talk to her like this.
’I know that you know who I am. But since you are still silent here, I would like to say something to you. No matter what happens, don’t interfere in what I am about to do, and protect mother and everyone close to me. I don’t care about this lizard, though. If I see that they were harmed, then I don’t know what I might do to your entire race, and if you think this is a joke from me, you will know if it really is.’
I warned her. This might seem foolish, but she is here for just that. If I weren’t a demon, then I wouldn’t even need to tell her anything, and she would protect all of us.
But things are different here. And now I need to start my plan.
