Chapter 55 - Enoch Was Deceived

Chapter 55: Enoch Was Deceived

Enoch immediately realized that the zombies didn’t need to attack them. It wasn’t because the zombies were kind and peaceful. On the contrary, they were following the orders of another zombie.

They were accumulating their strength and preparing to take over their floating island.

This made Enoch feel a sense of crisis, but he simultaneously verified one thing—these zombies had a leader!

Otherwise, these filthy, brainless, stinky corpses that only knew how to kill and eat, and were filled with appetite and hatred for all lifeforms that they could see, would definitely not just stand there quietly and watch themselves drool.

They would immediately rush up and launch the fiercest attacks, eager to taste every piece of meat on their bodies.

“A zombie that can use its brain and strategies?”

Enoch reached out to touch his nose, and the bitter expression on his face intensified.

“To be honest, I don’t like this kind of opponent. I’d rather face some more troublesome zombies with extraordinary battle prowess than fight against rats in the sewer. It’s too mentally taxing!” complained Enoch.

It was apparent how much he disliked his current opponent.

Unfortunately, there was nothing he could do. The other party was invading and attacking Enoch’s territory!

Enoch could only pick up his weapon to defend his home and let the enemy know how stupid it was to be his enemy!

“A zombie that knows how to use tactics should understand what this means, right?” Enoch muttered as he looked at the zombies in front of him.

Of course, there were also the Berserk Rats in front of them.

The moment the zombies appeared, the Berserk Rats had already entered battle mode. Their fur stood up, and they revealed sharp teeth, which still had some of the zombies’ flesh and blood.

The zombies’ blood carried the virus from the Netherworld, so humans, even Divine Tree Masters, could not consume it. They could not even be bitten by these zombies.

However, the Berserk Rats did not seem to face this problem. As one of the Divine Tree Masters’ battle weapons, they did not seem to be afraid of the zombie virus. At least, the current virus could not affect them.

“Lightning, attack them now!”

Enoch was an arborist, a man fighting for his life, not a general, much less a knight!

Thus, he didn’t care about honor. Surviving was of utmost importance right now!

The zombies had yet to assemble, so their strength was relatively weak. In other words, it was a good opportunity to attack them!

If the zombies gathered, Enoch and his Berserk Rats would face more threats.

This wasn’t a good thing, so Enoch immediately ordered Lightning to lead the Berserk Rats to attack the zombies.

“Squeak!”

Lightning received the order and immediately nodded. Screaming, it led the Berserk Rats to pounce on the zombies that had just appeared.

However, the zombies this time were no longer the low-level zombies from before.

Enoch only took a brief look and found more than 50 special zombies.

Most of them were Runners and Flame Launchers, but there were also some other zombies. For example, Enoch saw a few sharp-clawed ones, and one with a pickaxe on its back and a miner’s helmet.

[Special Zombie: Talon]

[Type: Humanoid Monster]

[Skill: Virus Teeth, Slash]

[Combat Strength: D]

Talons were special zombies that were very tall and had long arms that could fall all the way to their knees. Their arms were no longer the arms of an ordinary person… Their five fingers had turned into something like a small knife, with sharp blades and hard bones.

Looking at their hands, Enoch had reason to believe that the claws could easily cut through wood and even metal objects of poor quality!

[Special Zombie: Digger]

[Type: Humanoid Monster]

[Skill: Virus Teeth, Dig]

[Combat Strength: D]

Digger looked like a strong miner. It carried a pickaxe on its back and wore a miner’s helmet on its head. There was nothing special about it on the surface.

It looked like an ordinary miner zombie controlled by the black fog. However, Enoch had a deep impression of it because of his powerful combat strength.

This was another special zombie that he didn’t know about, which meant that he had a brand new piece of information.

This was something worth paying attention to as any zombie could cause accidents to his plans. Therefore, Enoch had to carefully record the information of these zombies so that he could be safer in future battles.

“Eh…”

After the Berserk Rats attacked the zombies, a strange zombie cry came from within the black fog.

The sound was as weak as an old man’s sigh, but it could penetrate the black fog and enter Enoch’s floating island.

After hearing the sound, the zombies that had been standing still immediately roared and attacked the Berserk Rats as if they had been resurrected.

The Runners were always the first to attack the enemies, and it was the same this time. They rushed to the front and fought the Berserk Rats head-on.

However, the outcome didn’t seem to be good. f𝐫ee𝘄ℯ𝚋no𝐯𝐞l.c𝘰m

Their bodies weren’t as strong as the Berserk Rats’ bodies, so they were easily pushed to the ground. Then, the earlier slaughterfest repeated itself.

However, this time, the Berserk Rats’ targets changed from low-level zombies to the Runners.

This should have been a good start, as this indicated that the zombies were still no match for the Berserk Rats.

However, a sudden tongue of fire made Enoch’s face change.

The Runners, which had been pushed to the ground by the Berserk Rats, suddenly hugged the Berserk Rats that were tearing their bodies apart. No matter how fierce the attacks were, they wouldn’t let go. f𝔯ℯe𝓌ℯ𝐛𝒏𝐨ѵel.c𝚘𝐦

Unexpectedly, the Flame Launchers had unknowingly arrived near the Berserk Rats. Then, they opened their mouths and spat out tongues of flames, directly enveloping the Berserk Rats.

“Damn it!”

Enoch felt angry for the first time!
