Chapter 381: No Warm Welcome
A million demons. That was more than enough to go toe-to-toe with the cultivators from the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star.
But the cultivators weren't sitting around. They'd been keeping a close eye on the demon army's movements. And luckily for them, the demons weren't even trying to hide—they marched out in the open, making it easy to track where they were headed.
By now, Bo Luncang and Sun Tianlin had taken their fight to a far-off corner of the battlefield.
Meanwhile, their armies had ended up in completely different places—spread out and far apart.
Then, in the middle of a clash high in the sky, Bo Luncang let out a booming laugh. "Hahaha! You wanted a fight, didn't you, brat? Well, Grandpa's here to give it to you!"
With a wild grin, he gripped his meteor hammer and spun, swinging it with full force.
Sun Tianlin didn't back down. He raised his long-handled saber, sharp as lightning, and met the blow head-on. Power exploded off both weapons the moment they hit.
BOOM!
The blast was like the heavens cracking open. Shockwaves tore across the land, and clouds vanished from the sky, ripped away in an instant. What was left behind was a wasteland stretching as far as the eye could see.
And right then, orders shot out from both sides—
Mobilize!
No second thoughts. No hesitation. Both armies surged forward.
In just moments, more than two million troops were facing off on a frozen battlefield. They stopped as if on cue, lining up across from one another in perfect formation.
The air turned heavy. The sheer presence of both sides filled the sky like storm clouds, darkening the sun itself. The power rolling off them shimmered like a rainbow—bright, deadly, and impossible to ignore.
Jiang Chen watched everything unfold with sharp, steady eyes.
The two armies are about to go at it, he thought, a sly grin creeping across his face. Perfect timing.
He raised his hand, and with a flick, opened a glowing portal in the air.
Right after, Ying Luo and Mo Hao stepped out one after the other.
Mo Hao looked around, calm on the outside—but his eyes were shining with excitement. You could tell he was itching for action.
"Is it starting?" he asked.
Jiang Chen gave a quick nod. "Almost. The armies are about to clash—but their top commanders are off fighting somewhere else, way out in the distance. They won't be able to jump in for a while."
He smirked. "Which means we've got a window. No Nirvana Peering realm big shots to suddenly drop in and wipe us out."
"First things first—we find the cultivator army from the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star."
He glanced at Ying Luo. "Lady Dragon, stay hidden for now. Don't show yourself until I give the signal."

With that, Jiang Chen took the lead, flying north. Mo Hao and Ying Luo followed close behind, cutting through the cold sky like streaks of light.
It didn't take long before Mo Hao picked up on the standoff between the demon army and the cultivator army through his divine sense.
"Two million troops!" he shouted, his eyes going wide. "Hahaha! It really is two million!"
His heart thudded like a war drum—fast and wild.
So many enemies. So many chances to show off. All those embarrassing failures in the past? Forgotten. If he pulled off some flashy moves here, his Pretentious Points would skyrocket—and he might even break through to the Nirvana Peering realm right on the spot.
And once he reached that level? He could jump into the fight between Bo Luncang and Sun Tianlin. He'd steal the spotlight, grow even stronger, and start a rise no one could stop.
Right then, both armies noticed the two figures flying toward them—Jiang Chen and Mo Hao.
But Ying Luo stayed hidden. Her true dragon blood gave her the power to completely vanish from the senses of anyone below the Nirvana Peering realm. Not a single demon or human could sense her presence.
As for the others…
"Hey! Human cultivators!" someone from the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star army shouted.
"Are they from our side? Did they descend earlier? And they're still alive?"
"Wait a sec—isn't that Mo Hao? That spoiled brat from the Mo Clan? He's still breathing?"
"No way! That guy had half the immortal star trying to kill him! How hasn't someone done it yet?"
"Hmph, I heard he once harassed the women in my cousin's house. Can't believe that scumbag is still walking around!"
"Alright, enough! We're in the middle of a war here! Every fighter matters!"
"Bullshit they do! I say we don't let them in! What are two more Transcendence realm guys gonna change? Doesn't matter if they're here or not!"
Just like that, the Transcendence realm cultivators were all fired up. Some shouted in anger, others looked ready to fight, and a few just glared with cold suspicion. Mo Hao hadn't even done anything yet, and already, the place was boiling with tension.
Most of the cultivators didn't trust Jiang Chen and Mo Hao one bit.
Especially the army's vice commander—a Peak-stage Transcendence realm powerhouse named Sun Liu.
He stepped forward, eyes sharp and full of doubt. "Exactly," he said coldly. "For all we know, they're demon spies in disguise."
"We can't just let them waltz in and fight alongside us. If they turn on us during battle, the damage could be huge!"
Without waiting for a reply, Sun Liu lifted his hand—and struck.
Boom!
A wave of flame shaped like a dragon shot through the air. It didn't hit them directly, but exploded nearby with a deafening blast, shaking the icy ground.
Jiang Chen didn't flinch. His face looked serious, even a little offended. "What's the meaning of this, Daoist friend? We came a long way to help, and this is how you greet us?"
Inside, though, he was calm—calm as still water in spring. He had already seen this coming.
This was Mo Hao's moment to shine.
And if you wanted to look like the chosen one, first you needed everyone to stand against you—enemies and allies. That's just how Heavenly Fate worked.
People wanted to bring him down, whether they were demons or humans.
But the more the world pushed back, the better his chance to show off. The flashier the performance, the more regret and awe he could stir up afterward. That was how Mo Hao turned doubt into admiration—one over-the-top move at a time.
Right now, Heavenly Fate was doing its thing, stirring up suspicion like a storm. And it worked—because out of a million cultivators watching…
Almost all of them, about ninety-nine percent, didn't trust them at all.
"Get lost!" Sun Liu shouted, not even bothering to question Jiang Chen or Mo Hao.
"Yeah, leave!" another cultivator snapped. "Who wouldn't think you're demon spies?"
"Two Transcendence realm guys surviving this long on the Immortal Martial Continent? With demons crawling everywhere? Yeah, right—no way you're not working with them!"
"Mo Hao, you scumbag! You were a bully back on the Prosperous Stone Immortal Star, always causing trouble. Now you show up here, pretending to be on our side? You're probably just here to stab us in the back. We're not falling for it!"
The rest of the Transcendence realm cultivators weren't any nicer. Some threw out insults, others just glared, and a few didn't even try to hide the killing intent rolling off them.
"Hmph! Don't trust me?" Mo Hao snorted, eyes cold. "Just wait. Soon, all of you are gonna be on your knees, begging me for forgiveness!"
He turned away, not even bothered.
Jiang Chen let out a long sigh and shook his head. "What a joke. I, the Lord of the Immortal Martial Continent, have fought my way through hell to protect it, barely surviving, and this is the thanks I get… You still doubt me."
He followed Mo Hao, turning his back on the crowd.
"The Lord of the Immortal Martial Continent?" Sun Liu scoffed. "That's rich. We're the true lords of this continent. Not you. Get out of here!"
Meanwhile, across the field, the Transcendence realm demons burst into laughter.
One of them howled, "Those two were your backup? And you just kicked them out? Hah! That's priceless!"
"Seriously, you're killing your own morale."
"Better be careful! Keep pushing them, and they might really join us instead!"
The other demons laughed louder, tossing out their own snide comments.
But the more the demons jeered, the more Sun Liu and his crew dug their heels in. Their distrust only got worse—they were even less willing to let Jiang Chen and Mo Hao help.
High above the battlefield, Jiang Chen and Mo Hao hovered quietly, watching the two massive armies below.
"Heh, they really don't trust us," Jiang Chen said, a sneaky grin spreading across his face. "Looks like they've kicked us to the side. Perfect chance to prove them all wrong. Let's not waste it."
"Enough talk," Mo Hao muttered, his eyes glowing, locked on the battlefield. He was more than ready to move.
Jiang Chen mimed zipping his lips, but his grin only grew wider. Everything was falling right into place.
