Chapter 180 - – Date? [2]
Max should've known. Lily was a bit too innocent for someone their ages. While she did know what a date was, she didn't know that a date was supposed to only be done with two people without any addition.
"Yahoo!"
However, they were currently here, sitting on a café terrace with two other people. They seemed to be a couple: an incredibly beautiful girl with platinum hair and a slightly handsome man with blond hair. Both of them wore similar white jackets and sat at the same table as them.
'Maybe we can still call it a double date, but… It's still disappointing.' He thought.
The woman noticed his expression and grinned.
"Hahaha, sorry! Our little Lily has given you too much hope, it seems." She said playfully while raising her hand apologetically. "She's a bit too innocent, you know?"
The person in question looked confused and tilted her head. Seeing such a cute gesture, Max also couldn't get angry and express his dissatisfaction. He had already known about it since the incident after the party.
"It's fine. I am also aware of it."
"You're a good man." She said, turning to Lily. "You shouldn't waste his kindness, Lily. He even came with you here just to meet us because you have a question for me."
"Un, I don't." Lily nodded, "And I am not as innocent as you think, Ferin. I know a lot."
"That's what you said." The platinum-haired woman, Ferin, giggled at Lily's words. She glanced at Max and clapped her hands. "Anyway, now that we're here. How about a little introduction? My name is Ferin, Lily's best friend. It's nice to meet you, Breeze!"
"And I am Atlas." The man beside her, possibly her boyfriend, added with a soft smile. "Nice to meet you.
When he heard that, Max nodded slightly. He wasn't confused about how she knew his tag name. She probably saw his face on the billboard or news or something.
And the name Atlas sounded a bit familiar to him.
'Where have I heard of him?'
No matter how he jogged his memories, he couldn't remember where he heard the name Atlas. It was a common name in this world, so he shrugged it off.
"Likewise. My name is Max Charles. Please feel free to call me Max."
"Hee, are you sure you can reveal your name like that? Aren't you a streamer?" Ferin hummed curiously. always on m|vl|e|mp|y|r
Responding to that, Max only smiled.
"I believe you won't share it with others." He turned to Lily and asked, "I can trust them, right?"
"Un… Maybe?" Lily answered, looking a bit unsure.
That… was a problem. He looked at her in disbelief. And then she suddenly giggled.
"Just kidding. Ferin can be trusted. If she spreads your name, we can spread scandal about her to affect her modeling job."
"Now that's not nice, Lily!" Ferin pouted at Lily's words.
Atlas was chuckling, amused by the exchange.
"She has learned a few things from Max since our last meeting, it seems."
"She does!" The platinum-haired girl exclaimed, resting her head on the blond man's shoulders, "What should I do, At? Now, our cute Lily has been corrupted. She's not as innocent anymore, and she now teases me."
"Ferin… Are you taking me for a child?" Lily's voice was chilling as she glared at her friends.
However, Ferin was still joking around and looked scared.
"Oh no! She's glaring at me now!"
"Ferin!"
Lily jumped at her friend and hit her with a playful fist.
Looking at both of them, Max couldn't help but think that they had a good relationship with each other. They were truly friends.
Both of them whispered something together, then glanced at him before nodding.
Ferin, with a smile on her face, said something.
"Both of you enjoy your boys' time together for a while. We, the girls, have something to do a little bit."
"Max, sorry. I need to go with Ferin for a while. It's… Umm–" Lily had trouble saying it outright.
Reading between the lines, Max guessed they probably needed to go pick some flowers in the back. So, he nodded and saw them go inside the café together while giggling and whispering.
Now left alone with Atlas, he didn't know what to do. The man looked rather kind, as he always kept that friendly smile.
'Well, let's just drink my iced cocoa while waiting.' He thought.
At that moment, he suddenly spoke.
"Are you curious about what they are talking about?"
"Huh?" Max raised his voice slightly as he didn't quite catch what Atlas said. He stopped drinking and raised his head. "Excuse me?"
"I said, are you curious about what they are talking about together? You know… When girls go to the toilet together, they talk about something, right? Like about love interests or something. At least, that's what Ferin told me."
Such information was unnecessarily informative. And talk about something… That reminded Max.
"Is it Lily that asked to meet with… Umm, Miss Ferin?" He asked cautiously.
While he tended to act like an adult, Max was still a 19-year-old boy. Being polite to the other party was something natural for him if they indeed deserved it.
"You don't need to add a Miss to her name," Atlas said, laughing.
"But, yes. Probably, they are the loneliest girls. I heard that they only had one friend, and that's themselves for each other. Due to their popularity and looks, they need to be careful around other people. Ferin is a famous model. Her popularity often draws unnecessary problems."
Max understood that very well. That was why he also hesitated when he planned to get close to Lily.
'She's a Spencer family member, one of the wealthiest families in the world.'
Compared to her, he was just an orphan who got lucky in streaming. Still, that didn't mean that he didn't want to get close to her. Ignoring her family, the person herself didn't seem to mind getting close to him.
"Well, I think you'll be fine. It looks like Lily is also interested in you."
Atlas chirped as if he was able to read his mind, making him raise his head to look at him. The blond-haired man only smiled.
"Have other people said that you're too easy to read?"
Hearing that, Max scratched his cheek.
"It's too often." He said, "I thought that my poker face was already perfect. I even watched a tutorial on how to keep my expression straight."
"Whoever told you that must be someone so dense and has a head as hard as a rock. Because among people I have ever met, your expression is one of the easiest to guess."
"Truly. I can't say any other words."
Both of them got along pretty well and talked about various games. Max found out that Atlas was also playing a game with Ferin. He said it was Horizon Online, the biggest MMORPG game currently playable in the world.
Meanwhile, the girls had also finished their conversation in the café's bathroom.
"It's love, Lily. You have fallen in love with him!" Ferin declared with confidence, causing the innocent girl to blush.
Lily's face was beet red as she held her cheeks, preventing them from melting from the embarrassment brought by realization.
"I… love Max?" She muttered in a low voice.
