Chapter 183 - Mr. Kidnapper

Chapter 183 - Mr. Kidnapper

"T-the sniper is back!?" The second mage exclaimed the moment he saw his companion die a pretty gruesome death.

Hadn't they sent an assassin after the sniper? The assassin, of course, was one of the elites. The best of this organisation, yet they somehow failed in taking out a single sniper?

And as if that wasn't enough, the sniper had repositioned.

This could only mean one thing; the assassin had been taken out instead.

Ironic.

"J-just want kind of monsters-" Of course, before he could finish his words, his head exploded.

"Boom, headshot," Samur chuckled lightly.

Neia's 'conversion process' was coming along really nicely.

It was only a matter of time before she turned into a full-fledged killing machine. Combined with her healing powers, she would become a force to be reckoned with.

Nice.

Samur really enjoyed making the people around him forces to be reckoned with.

And once Samur decided that picking someone and dropping him/her to the absolute top, turning them into someone their enemies would think 200,069 times before antagonising, would be amusing, he would stop at nothing to achieve it.

He would turn them into a fucking God if that's what it took.

And he did so without letting them know that it was him who brought them to where they were.

He was interested in seeing how they would act. How they would handle their power, their position, their authority, and…

How they would betray him.

It was always amusing to watch.

?…? Neia inwardly sighed at Samur's dubious praise and aimed at the other motherfuckers.

They might have had a chance when it was just Samur, but with even Neia here, their fate was sealed.

Death was all that awaited them.

Once he realised that, their captain shouted, "Everyone! Retreat-" Of course, his head too exploded before he could finish his words.

Neia seemed to have a weird fetish of ending people's lives just before they could finish their sentences.

It wasn't even a joke. She had literally killed everyone right as they were about to finish what they were speaking.

Like, at least let them finish, bruh.

Imagine being in a life and death situation. You know you won't survive, and neither would the fools who had followed you into this hell.

Retreat is not an option, and neither is defeating the enemy. All that's left is to struggle valiantly and die an honourable death.

But that's easier said than done. You know that your soldiers are afraid. They have families, friends, lovers back home that they want to go back to.

As your leader, it's your responsibility to raise their morale. With that intention, you take the stage and start your speech.

Your speech is captivating; you can clearly see the face of the soldiers brightening up, their eyes getting ready to face their demise, their mouths preparing to laugh in the face of death.

These guys were going to die today, but boy oh boy would history itself remember their valiant deaths.

However, just as you are about to finish your incredible speech, someone shoots you in the face.

That would be a bruh moment.

Anyway, Samur decided that others' fetish was not his problem and he should focus on the task at hand.

And so, he took the ice spears and fired all of them at the soldiers who had momentarily frozen at their leader's death.

A second later, the knights came to their senses and erected their defences.

Alas, they were too late.

The hundreds of ice spears pierced through their defences and riddled their bodies with large holes.

And as if they spears were not satisfied with the blood they had just been died in, they passed through those several bodies and smashed into the door behind them, blasting it into smithereens.

As usual, once they had achieved their goal, the ice spears started melting.

However, a reaction happened. The next moment, instead of melting, the ice spears sizzled as water vapour started emanating from them, forming fog.

As if following the will of its master, the cloud of fog invaded the room.

"W-what the hell is this!?" Someone exclaimed from inside the room.

"Don't panic," what followed was the voice of Tristan. "It's just fog."

"This is it, Neia," Samur whispered. "Remember, don't kill Lecia or the main kidnapper."

?Yeah, yeah, I know,? Neia rolled her eyes.

The kidnapper aside, why would she kill Lecia?

If anything, that seemed like the kind of thing Samur would do.

Wow.

After reminding her for the last time, Samur stepped inside the room.

Quite interestingly, and as the cliché went, the room was dark.

Silhouetted by the light pouring in from the hallway of massacre, his figure formed a shadow on the cloud of fog.

Of course, because he was such an exceptional magician, he could easily see through the cloud of fog.

In the centre of the room was a chair, and tied to it was Lecia.

She didn't seem to be particularly hurt, but a blindfold was covering her eyes. There didn't seem to be anything that could impede her hearing, so she could hear but not see.

'Perfect,' Samur smiled.

All the pieces had fallen into place.

"Well, well, hello there, Mr. Kidnapper," Samur said using the voice of his scapegoat.

?…Why are you using Azell's voice?? Neia furrowed her brows.

"…You must be Azell," Tristan, who was standing behind Lecia, said.

Of course, as the cliché went, he had put a dagger to her throat. 𝘧𝓇𝗲𝑒we𝙗noѵ𝑒l.𝐜o𝘮

"Oh my. I'm honoured to be remembered by the great Mr. Kidnapper."

"My name is Tristan."

"Yes, I know," Samur shrugged. "But I like Mr. Kidnapper better. It has a nice ring to it. Don't you agree?"

"No."

"A shame," Samur sighed exaggeratedly in Azell's voice. "Well, whatever. As you know, I'm here to retrieve Lecia. If you would be so kind as to hand her over."

"Why? So that you can kill us the moment she's in your hands?"

"Obviously," Samur scoffed.

Was that even a thing that needed to be asked?

"Yeah, then forget about it," Tristan pushed the dagger slightly and blood started trickling out from Lecia's neck.

She, however, didn't even flinch, let alone let out a groan.

Was she perhaps used to such level of pain, or was she not afraid since her hero, Azell, was here?

Well, that was something only she knew.

"From here on out, you'll listen to everything I tell you," Tristan declared as he kept the dagger where it was.

"Will I?"

"If you don't, Lecia here will lose her life."

"You do realise that I will give you a fate worse than death the moment you do something to her, right?" Samur replied coldly.

He was playing the part of the Guild Master who cared for his subordinates perfectly.

He should get an Oscar once he returns.

"Yeah, well," a manic grin appeared on Tristan's face. "If I'm going down, I'm taking Leica with me." 𝗳𝘳𝐞e𝙬𝙚𝚋𝗻𝚘𝚟𝗲l.𝑐𝑜m

"I see," Samur smirked.

Just as planned.
