Chapter 227 The Storyline Is Deviating From The Main Plot!

Time passed.

Both of them stopped in their tracks.

Moses had discovered that the lair of the dark army was not easy to figure out!

The palace was comparatively safer.

Once they ventured out of the palace, they would encounter groups of devils.

This place was unlike the war in the southeastern region. Here, the devils were the main force of the battles.

Moses discovered a dark version of a Legendary Elf, who had returned to the palace with several wounds. Moses did not know where the Elf had gone for treatment.

“Annie knew the secret passages out of the palace. She has gone out of the palace while we are trapped here…” Moses was having a headache.

“Oh, look at that!” William ignored Moses’ blabbers and stopped in his tracks. He gazed at a building that had tight security.

Moses pondered for two seconds and gave William a deep look. He said, “That’s the treasure vault of the Moonlight Elves.”

Moses wanted to know if William was here to save Annie or to fish in troubled waters.

Why was William so entranced by the treasure vault?

Was William here to look for the treasure vault?

They were about a few thousand meters from the palace treasure vault.

How could they go over to the vault when they could not use magic?

William could not help it. After finding his directions, he brought Moses to an empty room and closed the door lightly. Then they entered the narrow storage room.

William extended his left hand while he asked Moses, “I’ll remove my glove and dig a tunnel. Can you cover my scent?”

Moses realized that William had the left hand of Thunder God.

Oh! No wonder William had a lot of good stuff.

William had been storing gold coins, silver coins, and bronze coins in his own treasure vault.

So William had been using the left hand of Thunder God to steal things.

Moses wondered if the Thunder God would kill William if he got to know about how his hand was being used.

Moses hesitated, but in the end, he nodded. “No problem. But you can’t stay far from me. Otherwise, you have to wear the glove immediately.

“There are many powerful warriors in Moonlight Forest. If we’re not careful, someone will discover the aura of a God.”

“That’s good. Shall we take a look at the palace treasure vault or dig a way out?” William licked his lips. If he had come alone, he would not have any ideas on the treasure vault.

In a small Dukedom, the security measures consisted of only magical barriers and walls.

But this was the palace of the Moonlight Elves. The security would be very tight. Even a Legendary warrior would find it difficult to break through!

But William had the Left Hand Of God!

And he had the company of an all-rounded Enchanter!

When both of them were in cahoots,

What kind of treasure vault could they not break?

Moses pondered for a long time, but he also could not resist the temptation. He coldly said, “I’ll accompany you to the treasure vault. If we fail, we’ll dig a way out!”

“Let’s go.”

William glanced at Moses. He knew that, most likely, Moses would compete with him for the treasures!

William felt that Moses was being pretentious.

After the Darkness invasion, William had been impoverished!

He thought that it was better that he pilfered the treasure, rather than to leave them to the dark creatures.

William removed his masquerade.

Moses activated a black magical barrier to engulf William.

It stopped the aura from spreading out.

William removed his glove. Thunder battle energy charged the left hand, and it became a palm created from lightning rays.

William started using his left hand to dig at the enchanted floor!

Woosh!

The hand was like a knife on a beancurd as it smoothly sliced through the floor of the palace. William dug at a rapid pace.

During the Darkness invasion, he had not made full use of the left hand of Thunder God. He could make use of the hand to destroy the sword energy of his opponents.

Even the Advanced devils would be crushed to death by his hand.

But William did not want to divulge the secret…

The dug-out tiles and soil were placed in the space ring. When they entered the dug tunnel, William used the soil to fill the tunnel entrance.

Time passed quickly!

Moses cajoled William to dig faster!

Both of them reached a depth of 20 meters.

Moses removed the magical barrier on William and said, “Don’t worry about your aura. Earth is the best cover. Detection methods are unable to go deep underground. Even the sages have to expend great energy to detect things underground!

“Unless there is an earth elemental mage who uses magic to search for things underground. At this place, there is no chance of a mage discovering us.”

William kept quiet.

He knew that hiding underground was the best form of stealth.

Both of them continued digging the tunnel.

The pace was slow as they did not wish to alert the devils above.

When William took out his compass, Moses felt like beating up the prince.

Because Moses realized that he did not fully understand William…

William was not as simple and pure as Moses thought…

“This lad is capable of evil deeds of a greater magnitude than his father,” Moses muttered to himself.

William did not hear that. Even if he had heard that, he would not have bothered. Since Annie left the palace, it indicated that she had no intention of dying!

Annie returned to Moonlight Forest to fight the war.

She was not trying to persuade her brother Cronus to stop the war. Prince William was relieved.

He hoped that Annie did not meet with any mishaps.

Old Band must have met Annie and was protecting her.

Annie had a special status in Moonlight Forest. Her mother had a powerful influence on the Moonlight Elves.

She was a princess of the royal clan of the Moonlight Elves.

The King had betrayed his race and helped in the Darkness invasion. The presence of Princess Annie would greatly boost the morale of the soldiers.

Some people would welcome her presence.

While the others did not!

Her brother and sisters were one of the latter!

Millions of Moonlight Elves were staying at the temporary camp at the east of Moonlight Forest.

A huge treehouse was being used as a temporary conference room.

The second prince Levins was sitting at the helm. He looked at his sister, who had come from afar. He was without emotion as he said coldly, “You came from the Blackleaf forest without any reinforcements. What’s the

use?”

“I’ll like to help,” Annie replied calmly.

“Hehe, we sent you to Blackleaf forest for an arranged marriage. Instead of staying at the Dark Night City, you stayed at the City of Dawn. That’s preposterous!”

“Apologies, I don’t like them.” Annie squinted her eyes and replied with hesitation.

“Yes, yes, yes. We’re fighting for our race while you selfishly abandoned our alliance with the Blackleaf Elves. Instead, you stayed with a Half-Elf with dubious bloodlines.

“The Half-Elves are a race without honor. Why are you believing them?

“He knew you’re here but didn’t have the courage to come here.” Levins’ tone was sarcastic.

If Annie had brought back powerful reinforcements, Levins would have treated her better.

But Annie returned alone.

What was that?

Was Annie coming back to tussle with Levins for power?

When Annie was away from the Moonlight Forest, her mother’s clansmen did not have any support, and they had started to defect to Levins.

After Annie returned, the clansmen had a change of heart. They no longer had the intention to defect to Levins, so he was furious.

Annie was about to speak.

A Legendary male Elf said, “It is the right of an Elf to do what she likes. How old is Annie?

“She’s still a kid!

“Are you mad?

“Have you lost the pride of the Moonlight Elves?

“And you wanted to be King?

“You’re trash!”

“You…” Levins restrained himself.

The Legendary Elf was Andrew. He was a powerful clansman of Annie’s mother.

Even though Levins was the Second Prince, he did not dare to be reckless in front of Andrew.

Especially when Cronus had betrayed all of them.

Many Elves were distrustful of the royal princes. They were no longer respectful towards the royal clan like before.

A sage looked at Andrew and scoffed, “The Second Prince will ascend the throne in the future. Be respectful to the future King. Don’t lose your manners just because Cronus betrayed us.”

“You’re right, Second Elder. But it’s still a question mark regarding the future King. A narrow-minded and undiscerning prince is not fit to be the Elven King.” Andrew did not pull his punches. The sage and the Second Prince were of the same clan, so the sage was speaking up for the prince.

Andrew said, “I feel that the Third Prince is more suitable!”

“Ah!” The Third Prince was bewildered when the Second Prince looked at him maliciously.

“What has it got to do with me. I didn’t say a single word. If Andrew wants to support me, he should do it discreetly. Isn’t it too reckless for Andrew to recommend me?” The Third Prince thought.

The Third Prince was not a fool!

In this large treehouse conference room, there were one sage and sixteen Legendary warriors.

The rest of them were princes and princesses with the royal bloodline. There were no other outsiders.

There was actually a Great Elder, but he was not present.

As there were no outsiders, the internal strife surfaced.

With the betrayal of King Cronus, many princes and princesses had started to vie for the throne.

If not for the devils who occupied the palace,

Even if they did not fight among themselves, they could not sit down peacefully for a discussion.

With two Elven sages and a sage from the Mercenary Guild, would they be able to defeat Cronus?

Even if the sages did not kill Cronus, they could at least hold him at a stalemate.

Obviously, some of the Elves were not pulling their weight!

Fortunately, the ascension of the Elven throne was undecided. Otherwise, more Elves would have perished.

Annie was nonchalant about the internal strife.

She was getting more and more disappointed with her race.

The devils were at their doorstep, and yet they were still fighting among themselves.

Annie thought that she should not stay here.

It was better for her to bring part of her clansmen to the City of Dawn to preserve their strength.

But she was contemplating.

Did William follow her?

It would be dangerous if he followed her!

What was William doing?

But Annie could not know that right now, Prince William was digging his way to her clan’s treasure vault.

Was William rescuing Annie?

Apologies!

Moses had said that Annie was very safe. It was time for William to do something else…
