Chapter 29 - Have You Seen The Scarecrow?

Chapter 29 - Have You Seen The Scarecrow?

Looking at the title of the book on the cover, the boy could not help but laugh.

Mika noticed the boy's expression and said with slight dissatisfaction, "What? Do you think my reasoning is incorrect?"

The boy raised his eyebrows slightly and looked at Mika.

"Reasoning? I don't see any reasoning in your process."

Mika was stunned when he heard this. She waved her hand and said, "That's not important. What's important is that you're very lucky."

When the boy heard this, he said with interest, "Lucky? What do you mean?"

Mika was still a little excited. She patted her chest proudly and said, "Because you're about to witness a correct and reliable evil ritual!"

Looking at the bouncing of Mika's chest, the boy touched his nose and made a pleading gesture.

Then, Mika opened the book and turned to page 13 with a serious look on her face. She then laid it flat on the ground.

The boy asked curiously, "Why did you turn to page 13? There doesn't seem to be anything important on this page."

Mika raised her head and looked at the boy. She stuck out a finger with a smug look on her face and waved it at him.

"You don't understand this, do you? The reason you turn to page thirteen is because there are a total of thirteen people in the Last Supper. This is an unknown number."

The boy replied with an 'oh', sounding as if he was very serious and seemed to agree with her.

Mika saw the boy's reaction. She then continued, going back to the book in satisfaction.

She took out two candles from her small bag and lit them, placing them on both sides of the book.

Then, she took out a needle and knelt in front of the book. She looked at the boy and said, "Come here quickly."

"Oh." The boy nodded repeatedly and kneeled beside Mika.

Then, he saw Mika's gaze. She looked as if she was looking at an idiot.

"Please, sit across from me," Mika said with a warm expression as she pointed to the other side of the book.

The boy did not look angry at all. He just smiled and nodded. He got up, walked around to the other side of the book, and knelt down.

Then, Mika closed her eyes and said, "Dear Lord Demon God, I, Mika, and..."

Mika could not continue. She scratched her head awkwardly and looked at the boy.

"By the way, what's your name again?"

"Flanders." The boy smiled and looked at Mica. "My name's Flanders."

Mika did not think that there was anything wrong. She simply started the unfinished ritual again.

"Dear Lord Demon God, I, Mika, and Flanders, will carry out the loyal summoning ritual for you.

"In this library that is condensed by Yin energy, I will use this book as a bridge and sacrifice our blood to summon you here."

After saying that, she clenched her teeth and pierced the needle into her finger.

This time, Flanders exclaimed softly.

He did not expect the neurotic girl in front of him to pierce her hand just like that.

Then, Mika handed the needle over. Covering her finger, she said, "It's your turn. Do you dare?"

Flanders smiled slightly, took the thin needle, and licked the blood on the tip of the needle with his tongue.

"Why wouldn't I?"

Then, without frowning, he stuck the needle into his finger.

Seeing that half the needle had gone into his finger, Mika was slightly shocked. She stammered, "Hey, there's no need to pierce it so deeply. Just a little will do."

Flanders only responded with an 'oh' before he pulled out the thin needle.

A stream of blood spurted out of the wound on his finger, splattering onto the ground.

Seeing this scene, Mika's entire body trembled.

However, she still endured the discomfort and pretended to be calm as she continued to complete the ritual.

She could not be underestimated by this guy who did not know anything.

Mika hovered her finger to the top of the book and squeezed some blood onto the left page.

Then, she looked at Flanders in front of her and pointed to the right side of the page.

"Just drop the blood here."

Flanders did not hesitate at all. He nodded slightly and did as Mika did.

After the two of them finished dripping their blood onto the pages, Mika did not say anything. She just stared at the book quietly.

After a few minutes, Flanders could not help but ask, "Excuse me, has the evil ritual ended?"

Hearing this, Mika seemed to be a little embarrassed. She wiped the sweat on her forehead and said, "Yes, it has ended..."

"Then, what about the Demon God you mentioned just now?"

"This..." Mika was a little embarrassed. She looked at Flanders and said, "Maybe what you did just now wasn't up to standard, so the summoning failed."

Flanders looked like he understood. He nodded cooperatively.

At this moment, Mika finally understood.

This guy obviously did not believe her. He was probably treating her like a fool!

It seemed like he was trying to cover up the awkwardness, or perhaps he wanted to save face.

Mika said quickly with a straight face, "Let me tell you, this was just an accident, and it must be because of you. It's impossible for the mistake to come from my side.

"I'm very familiar with this devil summoning ritual. Do you know how many supernatural stories and novels I've read?

"And not just summoning rituals, I'm very familiar with curse rituals, death-seeking rituals, and contract rituals.

"And..."

Mika deliberately paused at this point. Then, she pretended to be mysterious.

"And, I've seen ghosts with my own eyes."

Flanders's interest was piqued, and he could not help but repeat after her, "Ghosts?"

Seeing that Flanders was obviously interested, Mika then spoke with confidence, "That's right. Ghosts, a real ghost."

Hearing this, Flanders was indeed somewhat interested.

Thinking about it, if this Mika was not lying, what she saw was likely a strange creature.

Flanders had tasted the fear of ordinary people and the fear of the members of the Mage Association, but he had not tasted the fear of strange creatures yet.

Therefore, he was still somewhat curious.

If he could learn about strange creatures from Mika, perhaps he could go and look for them.

At this time, Mika saw that Flanders seemed interested, so she regained her confidence.

'That's right. I, Mika, am a senior supernatural fan. How can I be underestimated by this boy?

'Watch as I make you admire me.'

Thinking of this, Mika smiled proudly and said seriously, "You know about the scarecrow that was very popular on the internet a while ago, right?"

Hearing this, Flander's had a strange expression.

'What's going on? This girl has seen me before?'

However, Mika did not understand Flanders's strange expression. She simply thought Flanders was afraid or surprised.

So, Mika continued to speak with confidence.

"This is a true story. When I was traveling in Nord City, I saw the scarecrow walk into a taxi with my own eyes.

"Then, when he wasn't paying attention, I hid in the trunk of the car."

Mika spoke as if it was real, as if she had seen it with her own eyes.

However, Flanders naturally knew that this woman was bragging. He had activated his Disguise skill at that time so no one would be able to recognize him.

Flanders did not expose her, though. He just smiled and let Mika continue bragging.

After bragging for a while, Mika asked seriously, "Do you know what the scarecrow looks like?

"He..."

Before she could finish her sentence, Flanders interrupted him.

"Like this?"

Mika was interrupted and could not react for a moment. Just as she was about to lose her temper, she saw that the face of the boy in front of her had suddenly turned into a solidified liquid that was still melting.

The skin and fat on his face were slowly dripping down, revealing the straw face inside.

This time, Mika's face instantly turned pale and she could not speak.

Meanwhile, Flanders opened his mouth and smiled.

On the left side of his face, it was still the original appearance of the boy she had met earlier. He looked rather handsome.

The right side of his face, however, had completely turned into the original appearance of the scarecrow.

The mouth had even split open all the way up to his ears.

Looking at the girl in front of him, who was trembling slightly, Flanders inched his face closer to hers.

"Allow me to formally introduce myself. My name's Flanders, and I'm the scarecrow that you just mentioned."
