Chapter 631 - 51

Normally, the 4th Circle Mage will ask such question to his subordinates, as it will effect all their lives. However, from the look of it, the teen will not let him hold any form of meeting.

"We will serve you and betray the City Lord." the Mage quickly changed allegiance. None of his subordinates said anything. Not even a cheer. They, no doubt still terrified of the entire experience.

The teen smiled before a wave of his hand removed the vines holding his warrior. Once the vines let them loose, they ran around in terror, trying to get as far away from the teen as possible.

The Mage could not blame them, not with how terrifying the experience was.

"Good." the teen then released another wave of Mana, "Remember this, don’t let anyone attack the village and don’t cause any trouble. Or else."

No one need to be told what else was. Satisfied with their fear and subservient attitude, the teen flew away, allowing them to release the stress of the encounter in the form of a sigh.

"That was scary! How did an outskirt village get such a terrifying Mage!?"

"That’s not the worse part! He was young! Even if being a Mage make you younger, he still look like he was in his teen, not even passing adulthood yet!"

The chatter of background noises almost drown the voice of his thought, but the 4th Circle Mage ignore them in favor of speaking with his weaker subordinates.

"What do you think of the entire deal?" he asked the 3rd Rank Aura Expert, who was frowning.

"I think it is the only way for us to not be turn into fertilizer for a brand new forest." using humor to hide the shock he was having was a good way to let the stress to bleed out.

"But, it is a bit hasty. Then again, we don’t have any choice," the 4th Circle Mage could not agree more. If he can discuss properly with the teen, they can get a more beneficial deal, but with their lives on the line and on the clock, they don’t have a choice in that matter.

"Let’s get going. We should move ourselves near the village so we can protect it." The 4th Circle Mage hope none of his subordinates will do anything stupid, or they will be ended in seconds.

As they continue their trek, loud sound, one similar to explosive and crashing boulder appeared out of nowhere.

Exchanging look, the 4th Circle Mage and 3rd Rank Aura Expert have the same thought,

’He find other spies and forces and decided to show them their places.’

Ardent let out a sigh. So far, he found three different group, all to establish themselves at the village (conquer it). And that was not counting the main invasion force, who he subdued first due to being the closest and largest.

He easily subdue them, as the other did not have any 4th Circle Mage or 3rd Rank Aura Expert. Similarly, he offer the same deal. Submit, or perish. Most choose the former. However, the second last group he intercepted show rabid devotion to their employer or Master.

So, Ardent kill them, burning them into ashes with second. Showing how powerful he really is, and he will not hesitate to kill them.

After the burning, he get them to fear him, and now, all three remaining group are patrolling the area, protecting the village from harm. They were also joined with Blue Boulder, who looked excited at the prospect of working together with other forces.

Ardent looked to the horizon, at the direction of Cruom City. "Should I destroy you, or not?" he mused to himself heading out once more. Who knew how many forces were sent to attack the village.

As the 4th Circle Mage moved his forces to the outskirt of the village, they found another group, one they are familiar with.

"The Blue Boulder? Trance? It’s that you?" he asked in shock.

"Merith, it’s that you?" Trance asked back, sharing the same tone he used before.

"What are you doing here? I though you were traveling outside the region?" Merith asked another question.

"That’s just a pretense. Our task is to turn this place into a new base of operation, so he can increase his influence. And before you ask, we were paid by someone at the top of the City’s hierarchy." Trance told Merith,

"And now, why are you here?" Merith sighed,

"It’s not a long story. We are ordered to seize the village and dungeon, to turn it into the direct property of Cruom City."

"...That is a bad idea." Trance said after going silent for an entire month.

"We don’t know at that time. How should we know that there will be a 5th Circle Mage in the village." Merith could not help but point it out. It is a valid reason, as the fight between a 4th Circle Mage and 5th Circle Mage can be described as unfair.

If the City Lord knew, he will agree to the term immediately and bow his head. However, greed consume them, turning them into rapacious beasts, always hungry for more. And now, those hungry beasts had woke up the slumbering monster.

"This will change everything." Merith exclaimed. Trance nodded in agreement.

"Yes. Yes it will. A new power will form in the region. One probably stronger than other combined." Trance did not know how powerful a 5th Circle Mage is compared to 4th Circle, but Merith did and told him once, that even twenty 4th Circle Mage working together could not even get a 5th Circle Mage serious.

Trance looked at the direction of the dungeon and sighed, "I don’t know about you, but I decided to give my allegiance to him. So, I’m going back to my work." the other Mage walked away.

Merith looked at where Trance looked and sighed, "Is this the power of the dungeon? Capable of turning a child into a 5th Circle Mage?"" he asked, before following Trance. After all, he is now part of the teen’s side.

As they were about to go back to work, another explosion was heard from the distance.

"Another team either bite the dust or join us. Hopefully the latter." Trance mused. Merith shared the same thought.
