Chapter 972: Chapter 973 Flower Elf_1

On the screen before Song Jian’s eyes, the content of this assessment appeared.

“This assessment world contains twelve factions, and the one hundred examinees entering the world will be randomly assigned to these twelve factions…”

“Develop the power of your respective faction, eliminate all other factions, and achieve ultimate victory! All examinees in the victorious faction will pass the assessment, while the losers will leave the Assessment World…”

“Because of your strong abilities, you have been assigned to the human faction, which will have only you as an examinee…”

“The number of examinees assigned to the human faction in this assessment world is one person, to the Hell faction is eight people, to the Undead Clan faction is ten people, …”

This assessment world, unlike what some people speculated, does not allow only one person to pass the assessment. Instead, as long as a faction is victorious, all of its examinees will pass. This ensures that all examinees in the same faction will work together to secure the final victory;

But in the human faction, there’s only Song Jian, meaning he must face the ninety-nine gamers from the other eleven species alone;

What is most frustrating is that the system laid out the number of people assigned to each faction for everyone to see. The smallest factions have at least six people, and the largest have as many as twelve, but the only faction with a single person is the human faction, with only Song Jian;

If the system had not listed the number of examinees, Song Jian could have muddied the waters, but with the system doing this, everyone knows that the strongest among them is the human faction!

This will definitely make others wary of the human faction, and perhaps, in the end, Song Jian will face an alliance against him from all the other factions.

“This is simply a hellish difficulty level starting off!” Song Jian’s expression turned ugly.

Just then, the darkness in front suddenly cleared, and Song Jian found himself in a grassy field, with woods not far off and a winding path extending from his feet into the distance;

System: The Hell faction’s examinees have occupied a lumberyard, producing 5 units of timber every day, congratulations to the Hell faction!

“Damn it, even the game’s starting time is later for me compared to the others…” Song Jian’s expression grew even more solemn, but the assessment task had to continue. Even with a hellish difficulty, Song Jian was confident he could forge a bloody path out of Hell;

Song Jian looked around. Although it was the wilderness, it was very quiet. There were no monsters, and even the wildlife and small animals were scarcely seen;

Without any clues, Song Jian could only follow the path and randomly choose a direction to walk slowly forward, exploring around as he went. Wandering aimlessly like this, he might just find an unexpected windfall;

System: The Elemental faction’s examinees encountered a group of bandits. Intimidated by the examinee’s strength, the bandits surrendered, and the examinee accepted their surrender, gaining their first troops;

System: The Dungeon faction’s examinees found a dragonfly nest. After a fight, the examinee successfully took over the nest, which produces three dragonflies a day. The owner of the nest can spend certain resources to recruit dragonflies as their soldiers;

The system prompts arrived one after another, filling Song Jian with a sense of urgency. Up to now, he hadn’t found any clue on how to win. It appeared that other camps’ examinees had already started to develop, whereas Song Jian was not only far behind, but more importantly, he was the only person in the human camp, while the other camps had teams composed of several examinees each.

If it were simply a matter of combat, Song Jian wouldn’t fear any number of additional examinees, but according to the system broadcasts, the Assessment World was one where you accumulate resources and soldiers in the early stages and engage in large-scale legion battles later on to determine victory or loss.

In the early stages, Song Jian’s strength was a great advantage, but as time proposed, the gap between him and the other examinees would gradually level out.

Song Jian alone could kill a hundred, a thousand people, but he couldn’t possibly face ten thousand, a hundred thousand at the same time — quantity accumulated would eventually bring about a qualitative change, and even if Song Jian was incredibly powerful, he wouldn’t be a match for everyone united against him.

He continued walking and came upon a forest. The path under his feet stretched into the depths of the woodland, with no end in sight.

Just then, Song Jian suddenly spotted the spire of a wooden tower not far from the forest. It seemed there was a structure there.

Song Jian quickly headed towards the wooden tower, hoping to gather some information about the Assessment World from there.

Before long, he pushed through a tall thicket and arrived at a place filled with blooming flowers. Plants with blossoms of various colors grew everywhere, their vibrant petals vivid in the field. In the middle of these flowers, a wooden watchtower emerged before Song Jian.

“Who are you, and why have you trespassed into the Flower Elf’s territory?” a gentle voice called out next to Song Jian’s ear. Turning his head, he saw an Elf the size of a thumb flying beside his ear, looking at him with a curious gaze.

“Hello, beautiful Elf, I’m just a lost traveler who accidentally stumbled upon this place. Please forgive my intrusion. I will leave right now!” Song Jian bowed to the level-one Flower Elf and pretended to be very flustered as he spoke.

“A human traveler?” The Elf didn’t seem afraid of Song Jian and circled around him twice before saying, “You are very brave, this is the Dark Lord’s territory. Don’t continue deeper into the forest; the Dark Lord will kill you!”

“The Dark Lord?” Song Jian’s mouth curled slightly as he replied, “Beautiful Elf, could you tell me some information about the nearby area? I’m lost and don’t know which way to go. I just want to go home!”

“Human, do you want to return to the human castle? You’ve taken the wrong path. You should head in that direction. About a dozen miles away, there’s a human castle, though I remember it has been abandoned for a long time. Some wild beasts have occupied it; your home should not be there!” the Elf said in confusion.

“Is it that direction, to the human castle?” Song Jian was inwardly overjoyed, but his face showed no such emotion. He followed the direction the Elf pointed to, confirming.

“Yes, that direction. You’ll pass through a river. After crossing that river, you’ll see the abandoned human castle. However, I wouldn’t recommend you go there. There are frightening beasts…” The Elf seemed to recall something and her face took on a terrified expression.

“Thank you. A few wild beasts won’t pose any obstacle for me. I will kill them and take back that castle!” Song Jian said confidently.

“Are you a human hero?” The Elf’s eyes twinkled with hope as she asked, “Are you preparing to kill the Dark Lord and rescue the Elves imprisoned in the forest? If so, maybe I can offer you some help.”
