Chapter 274
Kyle Leonard, who approached behind Adrian, grabbed his shoulders. The handcuffs in both hands were connected by long chains.
“Shall we go?”
“Hold on…”
Adrian was forcefully taking a step, when he stopped and turned to look at Noah. She, flipping through the documents she’d been holding tightly since earlier, lifted her eyes. The look in her eyes asked: “You have more to say?”
She was an unusual woman. He thought she wouldn’t be hard to handle, but she was rebellious, and even though she looked annoyed at everything in the world, she had eventually dragged him out into the light. He had wanted her to live as his savior, but she had put a chain around his neck and even imposed a relentless punishment.
However, considering the punishment, it was not that harsh. Since they’d said that it was possible to substitute prison time for community service, instead of imprisonment, it meant to live for 110 years, so volunteering for the rest of his life. It was an incomparably light treatment compared to rotting and in prison for life.
His heart fluttered. “Oh, Noah.” His lips moved on their own, without him being aware of it. “Will you meet me again?”
Noah couldn’t figure out why he’d say such a thing. She thought it would be better for her not to meet him again like this, but…
“Me?”
“Yep.”
“Well. If you have the premise of living, the day would come that we see each other at least once,” she replied. “If you work hard, we might be able to meet about three times.”
After a moment of silence and a slip of the tongue, eventually, a slight smile spread across his face.
“All right. See you soon.”
Noah didn’t respond anymore.
Kyle Leonard handed over the chains on his handcuffs to his subordinate. Adrian let out a long sigh as he stared at them from behind. Was it over? Perhaps from today, he would live a completely different life than he had lived for the past 26 years. Adrian found himself hoping that it would be salvation, not hell.
Before long, his steps had faded away.
The trial was over.

After the former Minister of Magic had completely disappeared behind the door, the audience hastily stood up to leave the courtroom. They feared that the dragon master might suddenly feel uncomfortable and smash everything in the courtroom.
“Take care of all this, Paul. Penélope.” Kyle requested. “And since reporters are outside, tell the audience members not to speak of things that transpired inside. Be careful not to spread Noah’s personal information to the public. Got it?”
“Yes, sir!”
The investigators began to move quickly after receiving the order. Kyle immediately turned his back to them. He wanted to go to Noah, but Noah put a hand up to stop him from approaching.
What now? he thought. Originally, she had planned to conclude her plan here. She had already given Adrian an appropriate sentence and snuffed out the emperor and the royal noble family who secretly tried to reinstate him. Truly, her behavior was erratic.
Noah twirled her foot and looked elsewhere. She seemed to be waiting for all of the audience members to leave the courtroom. In the meantime, the number of people in the observation hall remained the same while the audience was gradually emptying.
It was after she checked that the last person had scurried out that clapped her hands loudly twice. Clap. Clap. The sound echoed loudly throughout the courtroom. The screen that had been broadcasting the trial situation live with a series of machine sounds turned off.
“All right then.” Her drowsy voice fell in the courtroom. Then, she declared as she flipped through the pages of the documents she had been holding all along: “I shall slowly get ready for the second trial.”
Not only the nobles, the imperial family members, and the emperor, but even Kyle, was shocked. The second trial was something Noah had not been told of in advance.
“Miss Noah, what are you thinking…”
The door where Adrian had exited, opened once more, revealing the second defendant. The person standing before the court room entered with a frown.
Kyle turned his head reflexively, and his face was instantly distorted as if he had seen even the most despicable thing in the world. On the other hand, Noah wore the most satisfactory expression she had ever made.
“The defendant is Baroness Eleonora Asil. The main culprit who caused the disaster at the Harrell Workers’ Hotel, the designer of the replica project.”
