Chapter 8: The Prelude

Chapter 8: The Prelude

The Canadians work was a huge accomplishment for the world knowing that the stones worked on people at the age as early as 16 and they tried to use this to further their spot in the world as leaders in knowledge behind the stone and classes but there was one issue.

All of the past failed experiments.

At first no other country really knew what Canada was doing because they kept it under tight wraps but once more and more people started to go missing and even some of the scientist having a mental break down at all the deaths before exposing the whole operation to a neighboring country asking them to put a stop to this.

The thing was that Japan and the US wanted to know the results of the experiments as well so they didn't have to kill some of their own. In addition to this they could put all the blame on Canada for doing such things but still be able to take that knowledge and use it to their advantage.

So they did just that. America and Japana including other countries without a stone supported punishing Canada for their horrid experiments and acts towards their own people making the country give 20% of their sales away. 10% being to other countries and the other 10% to those affected in the country and people there in general.

This was a huge blow to the government itself causing them to stop being active in any terms of communication or trade with any other country. To this day they don't ever let many of their people out or share what they're up to though every country does have a few spies.

All in all Canada was punished for what they did with the stone but the stones proved to be a huge part of todays society in the countries that had it including America because the school Kaden was at now had first dibs on using the stone giving every student valuable extra time ahead of their peers at other school to become accustom to their abilities and practice.

Kaden listened to the excited voices around him as the teacher brought out the stone and it was noticed by everyone that the second the stone was brought out it seemed a few people surrounded the stage on every side in a protective stance. This was a national treasure after all.

"Can you believe we actually get to see and even use one of the Awakening Stones!" Ken said excitedly looking at the other three with what Kaden thought could be stars in his eyes.

"Yes this is indeed quite amazing." Kaden said a small twinkle of his own in his eyes which didn't go unnoticed by the others.

Ashly leaned in close to Kaden whispering with a smirk her couldn't see, "Sooo you're excited about it huh?" She asked.

Kaden thought that asking such a thing was quite strange and that everyone in this room is obviously excited but none the less he saw no reason not to answer her so her did.

"Yes I have been waiting for this for a long time. Possibly one of the things I've looked forward to the most in my life." Kaden said with the twinkling in his eyes growing with every word he said.

Hearing such extreme words from Kaden for the first time left Ashly speechless but she wasn't the only one. Emma looked over at Kaden with her jaw dropped more than Ashly because she had never heard such excited words from Kaden either and she had known him for many years.

Kaden sat there unknowingly causing them to be surprised because he thought it was just normal to be excited about something like this and nothing else about it.

When Ashly finally comprehended the good reaction, she got off of Kaden she sat back in her chair with a smile and satisfied look on her face thinking, 'This should satiate me for now~' 𝒃𝒆𝙙𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝙤𝙢

On the other hand Emma was still thinking deeply in the depths of her mind about something concerning Kaden but no one was quite sure what it was and if they did know then everyone in the entire gym would be disturbed besides Kaden.

From there the group continued to wait until the man that walked to the stage with the Awakening Stone spoke and it didn't take long as the second he placed the stone on a very expensive looking cloth that was sitting on a marble pedestal he spoke to the audience making everyone go silent, "Hello everyone and welcome to your awakening ceremony I'm one of your future teachers Mr. Wright. I won't numb your ears with a speech or anything further on what I will be teaching as I know this is an important moment for all of you here and don't expect you to retain anything I tell you based off how half of the people here still have their gaze on the stone and not me."

The moment this sentence left his lips many people across the gym gulped in nervousness and moved their longing gaze on the stone away and instead payed attention to Mr. Wright that was talking.

"Thank you. Now let us start the ceremony and let all of you begin your journey as Class Users. First up, Mylah Cunningham." Mr. Wright spoke making a person in the front stand up and start making their way towards the stage nervously as everyone here had their gazes drilled onto her in excitement.

Once the girl made it up to the stage Mr. Wright walked over towards her since he saw her shaking and lead her towards the stone before saying loud enough for everyone to hear somehow, "Now touch the stone and your class will be given."

Hearing the request, the girl looked hesitantly at the rock before letting her shaking forward and placing her palm on the stone. Nothing happened for a moment but after about 10 seconds a blinding blue light filled the room making everyone flinch except the teachers at the front who just turned away and the girl who seems completely unaffected or aware of the current light.

Silence filled the room for a moment as the light died down and the girl picked up her hand and began staring into nothingness. This went on for a few moment before she said something that caused everyone to cheer, "I g-got an archer class." She stuttered with happiness in her voice.

The Awakening Had Begun.
