We suddenly heard sounds coming inside the big crates inside the warehouse. One by one, it opened and revealed all the missing students.

Lyraxy’s power was seduction and manipulation. So it’s only normal that Sylvester has also the same kind of power since he’s a direct minion of Lyraxy.

The students were out of their minds, as of they’re being controlled, they looked like zombies.

The group had different reactions upon seeing the missing students.

"They were here all along? We should have looked further and not only at the Academy."

"At least they’re alive.."

Remillia shushed them and talked about her plan.

"Do whatever you need in order to knock them out. They are being controlled by Sylvester."

There are at least 50 students here.

"Hahaha! I can’t wait to watch you all struggle killing your fellow classmates!"

Sylvester stopped laughing as he glared at Remillia.

"I mean you were acting high and mighty about killing us but with this kind of power? Nah.."

Veins popped on Sylvester’s forehead as he tried to calm down from Remillia’s insult.

"Make sure to bring me the head of that b!tch!"

Remillia knew they had to act fast. She quickly divided the team into pairs, assigning each one a task.

"Angela and Edge, took position on either side of the room. You have mid to high range attacks so get ready to take down the mind-controlled students with your bow and spear."

"Got it."

"Cypher and Rex, both of you will attack at the center to take down the remaining students. It’s okay to hurt them but not too much, understand?"

"Can’t wait to knock ’em out!"

"Christian you must position yourself near Whitney’s spot, het ready to help if needed and check on Whitney of she’s okay."

As the battle began, the mind-controlled students stumbled forward, their movements clumsy but relentless although the team moved in harmony, taking down the mind-controlled students with precision and speed. But every time they thought they had knocked out one student, another would rise to replace them, as if Sylvester’s power was fueling their movements.

Sylvester grabbed a seat and sat beside Whitney.

"Let’s see how these so-called friends of yours save you or probably end up dead because of you, hahaha."

Remillia realized that they couldn’t keep up this pace forever. They needed to take out Sylvester to break the manipulation spell. She focused her attention on the Rogue, her eyes locked onto his as she assessed his movements.

She secretly used her walkie talkie to chat with the others.

"Guys, you’ll be in charge of pacifying these students. I’ll be killing this bastard."

Cypher worriedly replied on the walkie talkie.

"Huh? Can you do it alone?"

"I can do this, besides I’ve been busy training nonstop since the fight from the previous Rogue."

Rex grumbled.

"What a show off."

"Oh? Then I gladly offer you my spot then, let’s see if you don’t end up dead in just 5 seconds."

Christian suddenly interrupted.

"So who’s going? At this rate, we’ll just tire ourselves before we get to rescue Whitney."

Angela also talked.

"Remillia will be the one who’s going, she has much more experience than us in fighting Rogues."

Cypher also agreed.

"I support Angela’s claims. Is there anyone who’s opposed to this?"

No answer.

"Remi? Be safe."

"Before that, make some distraction so that I can go to their spot."

"Rex, do your specialty."

"What specialty?"

We all answered at the same time, even Edge who doesn’t usually engage in talks like this.

We all chuckled as Rex only scowled at us.

As Remillia noticed that Sylvester was distracted and kept his eyes glued on her teammates especially Rex, she quickly threw a dagger towards his direction as she sneaked up behind him, her dagger almost reaching to his neck. But before she could strike, Sylvester sensed her presence and spun around, his eyes blazing with excitement and annoyance.

"Well, well. Look do we have here."

Remillia charged forward, her dagger flashing in the dim light of the warehouse. Sylvester met her with a smirk, his hands crackling with electricity. The two clashed, their movements a blur as they exchanged blow after blow.

Sylvester was a formidable opponent, using his powers to manipulate the environment and attack from unexpected angles. Remillia dodged and weaved around his attacks, using her agility and quick reflexes to evade his blow.

Clash!

The battle raged on, with Remillia taking on Sylvester one-on-one while her teammates fought off the mind-controlled students. The room was chaotic, but Remillia remained focused.

"Arcanum!"

Whenever there’s an opening, Remillia would strike and land critical blows all over Sylvester’s body. However Sylvester can’t even land a blow on Remillia, not even once.

"You’re just a puny little human! Argh! How can you be faster than me?!"

In a moment of opportunity, Remillia saw her chance to strike back at Sylvester. She launched herself at him, her dagger flashing in the dim light as she struck at his exposed neck. Black blood splattered everywhere even staining her face.

Sylvester stumbled backward, his powers faltering as he grasped at his throat.

"Glergh! I have the power of a God, how could you-?"

"I’m surprised you can still talk."

She removed the dagger stuck in his neck and stabbed him again.

Before landing the final blow, Remillia whispered in his ear.

"You see, I’ve killed two more Rogues before you. So don’t underestimate us, humans."

"You-You’re a devil... You’re no huma-"

As Sylvester fell to his knees, Remillia stood over him, her dagger pressed against his throat.

"Finally," she growled, her chest heaving with exhaustion.

The mind-controlled students suddenly dropped to the ground, freed from Sylvester’s manipulation.

I went to where Whitney is and untied the rope.

"You okay?"

"Y-yeah. I’m fine."

"Let’s go to where the others are."

We were about to go down when Angela arrived, out of breath.

"Whitney!"

"Oh hey, Angela."

"Thank God your safe! Now where’s that bastard?"

I interrupted her.

"He’s dead."

"O-oh."

Angela somehow expected her reply.

’Her growth rate is so unbelievable. She can singlehandedly kill a Rogue all by herself now.’

"Let’s go. Save the chit chat for later, the others are waiting for us."

I was the first to go down and saw the boys carrying the unconscious students out of the warehouse. I was about to approach Cypher but he was busy contacting the Nexus and the higher-ups of the Academy. I stood aside as I watch them do their jobs.

I still need to regenerate my mana but not like before. My mana regeneration got faster due to leveling up and it only takes up an hour or two before my mana is fully charged up again.

When Whitney and Angela finally came down, Edge immediately rushed over them. Using my ability, I watched their conversation.

"Edge!"

Whitney was happy that Edge is running towards her, she was about to hug him when he went past her and hug the person behind her.

"Angela, I’ve been looking for you! You were suddenly gone when the students stopped attacking us. Let me check you, you’re not hurt are you?"

Edge spun her around many times before gently grabbing her face, although Angela just shoved his hands away. Edge didn’t care as he still tried to look for any wounds.

"Edge! As you can see, I’m fine. I only have minor wounds here and there. Besides, I went to find Whit-"

"Wounds?!"

"Ye-No! Ugh! Listen me, I went to find Whitney!"

"Let’s treat it right away so it won’t scar."

"Didn’t you hear me?! Whitney’s here!"

That was when Edge only seem to notice Whitney standing behind them.

"Don’t worry about her, she’s safe. Now, let’s go treat your wounds."

"B-but Edge!"

Edge pulled Angela away from Whitney. Whitney who was silent all the time and is watching their conversation was on the verge of crying, not until Rex and Christian showed up in front of her.

"Whitney, we’re glad your safe. You should go outsi-"

Seeing that a tear fell down on her cheek, they stopped talking as they worriedly soothed her.

"You must have been scared by that bastard."

"Don’t worry, he’s dead now."

"R-right. I’m thankful to you guys."

"Don’t thank us, thank Remillia. She was the one who lead this operation to save you."

"Yup. We named it Operation Rogue: Save Whitney."

Thanks to the two, Whitney laughed with them.

I was so engrossed at my thoughts that I didn’t notice that someone was already behind me.

"Remi?"

I spun around to see who it was and immediately regretted it as I slipped, causing myself to perfectly land on Cypher’s chest.

"Sorry, did I startle you?"

"Ah, no. Sorry for landing into you."

She tried to get away from him but he only tightened his hold on my waist.

"Uhm, Cypher?"

"Hmm?"

’What the.. He’s been hugging me for one minute now.’

I awkwardly laughed then asked him again.

"You can let go now?"

That’s when Cypher snapped out of his thoughts although he seemed unwilling, he finally let me go.

"When I went to find you, I got worried since you didn’t call me when you finished your fight with that Rogue."

I told Cypher to keep a secret about my mana loss paralyzing effect, maybe that’s what he’s worried about but that doesn’t mean that he needs to hug me, he can just ask me but knowing Cypher’s good guy attitude, I didn’t mind him further. Maybe the hugs only a normal thing for him to do.

I showed him a reassuring smile.

"About that, you won’t have to carry me anymore. I can manage myself now."

Disappointment flashed in Cypher’s eyes before quickly replacing it into delight.

"Even if you won’t call me, I’ll still help you."

"Right... Anyways, did you send help already?"

"Yes, the rescue team’s on their way."

"Good, let’s go meet the others then."

I was about to go but he suddenly clasped my hand with his and pulled me gently.

I stood frozen on my spot as I looked at our hands and stared back to his face.

"Remi? Is something wrong?"

"U-uhm my hand?"
